The most prominent features of the XOLO Q1000S are the Unibody construction along with the 5 inch HD IPS One Glass Solution (OGS) with a resolution of 1280 x 720 px and a 13 MP camera with BSI 2 sensor at the back and a 5 MP camera with BSI 1 sensor in the front. A few things users may not like are the non expandable storage which is fixed at a 16 GB and the non replaceable battery. The XOLO Q1000S is powered by a 2500 mAh battery pack and runs the MTK 6589T Quad Core 1.5 GHz chipset with a PowerVR SGX544 GPU and has 1 GB of RAM.

    Xolo Q1000s Unboxing iGyaan 0

The Q1000s is fairly pocketable, this is because of the 6.98 mm thickness. Inside the box, there is a usual mix up of things, a charging cable, a set of earphones, the USB wall charger, an extra screen protector and some standard documentation.

Epic Monday Treat : Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 A240 Unboxing

    Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 20

Micromax is all set to launch its new flagship smartphone the Micromax A240 Canvas Doodle 2, the phone is a revision of the original doodle which created a new pen/stylus+ phone category for the company. The new Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 has a Aluminum back with a unibody chassis and a matching two tip stylus.

    Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 30

The two major highlighting factors of the Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 are the 5.7 inch 1280 x 720p inch display and the cameras, a 12 MP out back and a 5 mp in the front. A few things users may not like are the non replaceable battery and the non expandable storage which is fixed at a 16 GB out of which 12.64 + 0.98 GB  are user available. The Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 is powered by a 2800 mAh battery pack and runs the Mediatek 6589 Quad Core 1.2 GHz chipset with the PowerVR SGX544MP GPU, which might create a bit of stir.

    Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 20

The device fits beautifully in the hands and is really convenient to hold, the stylus is ergonomically for both tiny and large hands thanks to the oval-ish design which creates two differential holding points. The two tips on either side of the stylus also offer two levels of firmness which might be appreciated by artists and doodlers alike.

The Doodle 2 is fairly pocketable too, considering its size it actually fits quite well into pockets, this could also be due to the 9.3mm thickness vs the 10+ on the previous version (although the tapered edges help too.). In the box there is a usual mix up of things, a flat cable charging cable, a flat cable set of earphones + ear tips, the USB wall charger, a flip case that also converts into a stand and documentation.

    Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 31

When compared to the Galaxy Mega 5.8 by Samsung the Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 misses the MicroSD card Slot and also a customized UI that offers additional features, the Canvas Doodle 2 however has a higher resolution display a better build quality and bigger MP cameras .

  • iBerry Auxus Nuclea N1 Unboxing

    iBerry Auxus Nuclea N1 Unboxing

We get you an exclusive unboxing today for the iBerry Auxus Nuclea N1, a smartphone that has basically given Micromax a run for their money when the Canvas 4 was announced. The handset takes away a lot of things but adds a few that will be might appreciated by the phone buyers.

    iBerry Auxus Nuclea N1 8

For starters the iBerry Auxus Nuclea N1 has a 5 inch 1080p display, and dual BSI cameras a 13 MP rear and a 8 MP front camera sensor, both capable of 1080p video at 30fps. The chipset that powers this device is a Mediatek 6589t clocked at 1.5 GHz on all four cores. RAM and storage can be the only downsides to this handset with only 4 GB of inbuilt storage and 1 GB of RAM, you may not be able to fully exploit the additional power on the chipset.

Everything on the iBerry Auxus Nuclea N1is backed by a 2800mAh battery that ensures a better battery backup, vs the competition. The iBerry Auxus Nuclea N1also runs Android 4.2.1 Jelly out of the box with little or no custom UI modifications and almost zero bloatware, which also improves on performance and stability (we hope) .

Another thing worth appreciating is that rooting will not void your warranty, well you wont have to root the device anyway, because its pre rooted.

The Build and design are actually quite like the HTC Butterfly, with the paint finish matching the newer HTC Butterfly S. the build quality seems robust at first, no indication as to what the display glass is , but the phone does have an 5 inch 1920 x 1080p Active matrix display and an OGS panel, which means the display and the touchscreen are fused together, which also means that the likely maker of the LCD panel is LG.

The Power and volume rocker buttons appear to have been made from steel, and are very tactile. The replaceable panels included in the box are a great boon, and will reduce the need of a back cover, the handset also comes with an antiglare screen protector, which may be replaced with a more suitable one which cover the ful screen as the one included does not.

The feel and finish of the iBerry Auxus Nuclea N1 are premium, although, some may not appreciate the overly large Logos at the back of the device. Now lets see how the handset performs, stay tuned for benchmarks and gaming.

  • Sony Launches the XPERIA Z Ultra in India Rs. 46990, 6.4 inch Full HD, Waterproof and Dust Resistant (Hands On)

Sony Launches the XPERIA Z Ultra in India Rs. 46990, 6.4 inch Full HD, Waterproof and Dust Resistant (Hands On)

Sony today launched the new Xperia Z Ultra in India, the phone is a bigger (really) sized variant of the Xperia Z and in theory really builds on the design and the features of the Xperia Z. The Xperia Z Ultra features a 6.4 inch Full HD 1920 x 1080p display with 344 ppi pixel density which is powered by the Triluminous and X-reality engines of the Mobile Bravia embed. The Xperia Z Ultra also features a MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipset which is more than capable of powering the device, with Quad-core 2.2 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 the phone is really a mammoth creation in both size and hardware power. The Xperia Z Ultra just like the Z before it, is IP58 certified – dust and water proof which means the the Xperia Z Ultra is Water resistant up to 1 meter and 30 minutes.

For Cameras you have an 8 MP rear snapper and a 2 MP front camera both sans a LED Flash and capable of 1080p video at 30fps. The Xperia Z Ultra comes with a 3050 mAh battery which is embedded into the device and is non removable, the profile of the handset is truly fantastic where it is only 6.5mm thick and weighs only 212g considering the size. Sony have also rounded off the sides so that it does not bite your hands when you attempt to grip this passport sized handset. The phone will be available in Black, White and Purple and boasts lots of freebies from the get go, including Asphalt 7 which is pre installed, Sony Live Content from Indian Idol Etc. and free 3months subscription to Big Flix.

Micromax Canvas 4 A210 Unboxing, Gaming, Specs and Features

We recently received a unit for the new Micromax Canvas 4 A210 Unboxing and the smartphone has some interesting elements inside the box. The phone is an upgrade to the Micromax Canvas HD A116 and changes a few hardware aspects but major aesthetics and inbox accessories have been changed.

     Micromax Canvas 4 A210 Unboxing 4

    Micromax Canvas 4 A210 Unboxing

The box of the new Micromax Canvas 4 will remind you Apple’s packaging of the iPod touch with the phone put on top and the a clear top cover, the design of the packaging is reminiscent of Apple design. Inside the box you will get:

      • The Micromax Canvas 4 A210
      • Flat Tangle Free USB Cable
      • Flat Tangle Free In Ear Earphones
      • Extra Ear-Tips
      • Battery
      • USB Wall Charger
      • Documentation

    First Impression

When we started the Micromax Canvas 4 A210 Unboxing we were surprised with the quality of inbox accessories, for once the company has truly focused on accessories that make the phone work. The USB cable is flat and tangle free so is easy to carry in the pocket and can be twisted and turned to result in its original form with little or no effort. The build quality of the Micromax Canvas 4 is far superior to any Micromax phone in the past, it is solid and robust with a steel shell and plastic back. The front is all glass with a 5 inch display with a now mediocre 1280 x 720p display (where most are promoting a 1080p display).

The form factor is very functional and handy, and not a lot of people will be impressed with Micromax’s software gimmicks like the Blow to Unlock feature. The Phone has a 13 MP camera which is now traditionally seen on flagships from Samsung and Sony, what is interesting here is the fact that the Micromax Canvas 4 has a 5 MP front camera which even major manufacturers neglect to feature. Micromax has also bundled several apps that allow for access to Micromax Services like MiZone and M! Security.

There is definitely some rattling sound in the unit we received and it comes from around the Sim Tray region. Check out our Micromax Canvas 4 A210 Unboxing video above and the Gaming Video below to get an initial idea of what the Device performs like.

    HTC Butterfly S Hands on

HTC yesterday at a showcase event held in Thailand showed off the new HTC Butterfly S. A revamp of the HTC Butterfly, the new Butterfly S builds along the same design strategy but adding features from HTC’s popular HTC ONE.

Curved to fit in the hand the new Butterfly S has been splashed with a metallic finish making it resemble a “car paint job”. The color options for the handset are also not limited to two like last year, this year they include a white, a metal grey and a glossy red.

    HTC Butterfly S 22

The HTC Butterfly S is packed with a lot of exciting elements including a 3200 mAh battery, a Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 chipset with a Quad-core 1.9 GHz Krait 300 CPU and the Adreno 320 GPU. The front has a beautiful IPS LCD 3 display of a 5 inch size and a full HD 1920 x1080p resolution and a layer of Gorilla Glass 3. The design and the materials used in the construction of the HTC Butterfly S show to a great extent what the thought process of the company is when they are building a handset. The HTC Butterfly S is not only functional but looks really good.

The new HTC Sense 5.0 on top of Android 4.2.2 improves on the Blinkfeed experience as well as the Camera features, including enhanced ZOE file management amang many other improvements.

    HTC Butterfly S 28

The HTC Butterfly S caters to a niche, an audience which liked the original Butterfly but wants more. Hopefully it reaches India in all three colors with a price tag in the OH-So-Affordable under 40k price bracket, here is hoping anyway! Check out the images below and stay tuned for Video.

  • Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom Hands-On

    Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom Hands-On

Samsung today launched the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom today in India at a price of around Rs. 34,500.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom offers a blend of smartphone and camera, and is targeted at the many people who now use their phones as their main camera too.

    Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom

Before you view our hands-on video you may want a quick recap of the key specs and features. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with resolution of 960 x 540, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal memory that’s expandable via microSD.

    Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom also has a 2130 mAh battery, and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean skinned with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. The camera set-up includes a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), optical 10x Zoom, Xenon flash, HDR, panorama, and 24mm wide-angle lens. It offers full HD video capture, and there’s also a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera.

    Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom

The Zoom’s big USP is its ability to take detailed shots of objects that are rather far away. Not only is the Zoom a first in terms of design, but it’s also one of the first smartphones to feature an optical zoom, as well as a digital zoom and optical image stabilisation with a 24mm lens.

It also has a myriad of shoot modes: 25 to be exact, which are as follows:

Smart mode suggest, Beauty face, Best photo, Continuous shot, Best face, Kids shot, Landscape, Dawn, Snow, Macro, Food, Party/Indoor, Action freeze, Rich tone (HDR), Panorama, Waterfall, Animated photo, Drama, Eraser, Sound & Shot, Silhouette, Sunset, Night, Fireworks, and Light trace.

    Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom

The Samsung galaxy S4 Zoom has a similar shape as that of its predecessor with a bump along the right side for your hand to grip, but the device is considerably slimmer. The whole thing is also made of glossy white plastic rather than the textured rubbery material on the side of the Galaxy Camera. At 208 gms, it’s one of the heaviest smartphones around. It has a plastic ring around the camera lens to access camera options and settings.

Expect a full review of the device pretty soon. Meanwhile, you can watch our hands-on video below :

  • Micromax Canvas 4 A210 Hands On

Micromax Canvas 4 A210 Hands On

Micromax has let out yet another sensation into the market, or has it? Micromax today announced the new Micromax Canvas 4 A210, a double jump in model number but no real jump in specs. The phone is priced at Rs. 17990 and is available to purchase today.

    Micromax Canvas 4 A210 12

    Initial Impressions

At the first glance the phone will remind you of each and every Canvas phone you have seen till date, plastic design and glass front and the Micromax Canvas 4 A210 is no different. The built quality is much improved over the previous edition Canvases but it is identical to many a smartphone already in the market. The bezel reminds you of a an iPhone with a stainless steel finish where the back panel is very Samsung.

    Micromax Canvas 4 A210 7

Micromax has kept exactly the same specs of the Canvas HD with the Micromax Canvas 4 A210 and only bumped up the camera on the back and the front. The Blow to unlock feature, comes via an app and is very gimmicky and should cause a lot of problem for people. The interface is stock apart from a lot of Micromax bloatware and the performance seems shabby at first.

The cameras did not boot up on the device we were shown so we were unable to check them out, but the camera app is the standard camera app. The Micromax Canvas 4 A210 is the company’s attempt at making a device which focuses on build quality vs the hardware, and it seems to most this will be a disappointment. The company is also promising good service and easy replacements for the devices, which can only be seen in the time to come.

The camera upgrade and design are not the only changes, Micromax has also reduced the battery to a 2000 mAh battery which may end up resulting in lower battery life. Has Micromax built up this phone too much pre launch to the extent that users got really excited? Is the Micromax Canvas 4 A210 overpriced? While we search for the answers check out the images and stay tuned for a hands on Video.

LG had originally decided to launch the Optimus G Pro around the 20th of June 2013, but due to the conflicting price of US Dollar vs Rupee, The Optimus G Pro shipments were delayed. The LG Optimus G Pro is also price considerably higher than what LG had originally decided (around Rs. 35000) making it a tough seller, since the competition can continue selling stocks bought at earlier dollar prices. Samsung and HTC are also set to raise prices of handsets if the Dollar Price does not normalize in the coming days. Considering the price increase of the competitors the LG Optimus G Pro might sell better in the coming months.

    Sony Xperia Zr unboxing 6

    Xperia ZR Initial Impressions

The Xperia ZR is water resistant to the point where you can go swimming with it, but the build is slightly different than the Xperia Z. The back panel is made up of a rubber coating vs a glass back on the Xperia Z. The Xperia ZR has a 4.55 inch 1280 x 720p display which makes it 323 ppi .

The back of the Xperia ZR has a 13 MP camera, but it appears that the company held back with the front camera which is a VGA camera. The phone is also slightly thicker at 10.5 mm and also shorter thanks to the size of the display, which makes the overall device more compact and slightly more portable.

Sony has really gained popularity with its Xperia series thanks to the right mix of Hardware design and build quality and the Xperia ZR is not behind in this trend. Based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064 1.5 GHz Quad core Krait chipset the phone also has the might Adreno 320 GPU. The whole mix is powered by a 2300 mAh battery and has 8 GB of storage along with 2GB of RAM.

You do have storage expandability in the Xperia ZR but only to 32GB vs the 64GB offered by many. Sony has also shipped this handset with Android 4.1.2 while many companies are now offering Android 4.2.2 out of the box.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 Unboxing 14

    Galaxy Mega 5.8 Initial Impressions

The Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 is a large device, but clearly is not as large as its big brother the Mega 6.3, next to the Galaxy S4 the Mega 5.8 simply dwarfs the current flagship from the Korean Manufacturer. The display is a 540 x 960 px capacitive touchscreen, and despite a lowly 190 ppi the screen is really sharp and great to look at. The screen is also extremely bright, fairly visible outdoors and has good viewing angles.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 Unboxing 8

The Galaxy Mega features a dual core 1.4 GHz chipset which is the same chipset seen on the Galaxy Grand, which was pretty good at handling gaming on the smaller variant, but may not deliver on a larger screen with a higher resolution. The phone also has 8 GB storage and 1.5GB of RAM, along with expandability upto 64 GB via microSD.

The phone is also capable of handling two sim cards at the same time with Samsung’s new dual sim smart active mode with active forwarding to your numbers.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 Unboxing 4

The Galaxy Mega 5.8 has dual cameras, an 8MP main shooter and a secondary 1.9 MP camera, both of which capture video at 1080p. The phone also comes with Android 4.2.2 out of the box slapped on with a generous dose of Touchwiz, with many of the UI elements inspired from the S4.

The Galaxy Mega 5.8 appears to be big but is easily handleable and is not that bigger than the Galaxy Note 2. The phone will fit into regular denim pockets, but may cause issues if you are one of those skinny fit lovers.

The UI seems fast and responsive and the handset seems to be holding up well, stay tuned for a barrage of videos iGyaan Style.
