Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ To Get Android 7 Nougat Update

Samsung recently launched the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ in India. The smartphones resemble the Galaxy S8‘s design with a new camera setup with variable aperture. After launching its flagship series, the company is updating its older portfolio with the newer version of Android OS. Samsung follows the two-letter OS upgrade for its flagship smartphones. The Galaxy S8 was released with Android Nougat and the device has received an update for Android Oreo.

According to an official document found on Samsung’s website, the company is planning to upgrade at least 6 devices, which have completed the two year’s OS cycle. However, unlike the S8 or the S7, these devices will not receive the latest Oreo update. Instead, these OS builds will be based on an older Android version with security patch and bug fixes. Though these devices are listed to receive the software update, no time frame is mentioned.

According to the document, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge will receive Android 7 Nougat update G9250ZCU2ERB2. The update weights at 1233.30MB, which upgrades the smartphone from Android Marshmallow to Android Nougat. However, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5 are expected to receive the incremental software update. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Note 8 will receive Android 8 Oreo update with Samsung Experience UI 9.0. In fact, the update for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy Note 8 is already live in most of the countries.

Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ Vs The Competition

Samsung has launched its new flagship devices, the Galaxy S9 and S9+. Both the smartphones are available for pre-order in India and will go on sale from the 16th of March. However, the price of the smartphones has not been revealed yet. That is expected to happen on the 4th of March. Samsung won’t be selling the 128GB storage variant in India, only the 64GB and 256GB variant will be available.

The Galaxy S9 and S9+ will carry a premium price tag for sure, and go up against the likes of the iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus and even Galaxy Note8. However, flagship specifications no longer come at a premium price tag. Android smartphones like the OnePlus 5T and Mi Mix 2 offer top of the line specifications at a much lower cost. So, how does the Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ stack up against the competition? Let’s find out!

  • Samsung Galaxy Note9 To Have In-Display Fingerprint Sensor

Samsung Galaxy Note9 To Have In-Display Fingerprint Sensor

A new report claim that the Samsung Galaxy Note9 will be the first-ever Samsung phone to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. For weeks leading up to the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note8, there were speculations that it would have an in-display fingerprint sensor. The Galaxy Note8 was launched in August 2017 and by then, screen embedded fingerprint sensors were found in concept phones only.

    Galaxy Note9

However, since the launch of the Galaxy Note8, this technology has come a long way and is finally consumer-ready. Vivo recently launched the Vivo X20 Plus UD in China, becoming the first ever smartphone to feature the new Clear ID technology. For Samsung to implement this technology makes a lot of sense since it already uses OLED panels for its premium smartphones and Clear ID, right now, only works on OLED panels.

The report claims that a Samsung patent unearthed has indications toward a screen embedded fingerprint sensor. Apparently, Samsung doesn’t want to rely on Synaptics and wants the in-screen fingerprint sensor of the Galaxy Note9 to be based on its own technology. While this sounds like an irrational decision as it will increase the R&D cost and take up a lot of time, a company of Samsung’s stature and resources can definitely go this route.

    Galaxy Note9
    Vivo X20 Plus UD

It is worth noting that the design in the image is merely for reference. It certainly does not indicate the future design of the Galaxy Note9 or any premium Samsung smartphone. Industry sources claim that Samsung has been trying to master the Clear ID technology for quite some time now. Both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note8 devices were eluded of the technology as Samsung struggled with manufacturing yield rates.

The Samsung Galaxy Note9 is expected to be launched in August 2018, similar to its predecessor. It will have better S Pen implementation, improved dual-camera performance and in all probability, a screen-embedded fingerprint sensor.

  • Could This Be The Future Design Of Bezel-Less Smartphones?

Could This Be The Future Design Of Bezel-Less Smartphones?

Smartphones are slowly but surely moving towards a completely bezel-less era. With every passing generation, the smartphones become sleeker. We even have a screen-embedded fingerprint sensor now, for people who want a bezel-less design but, also a front-facing fingerprint sensor. But, are bezels just an unnecessary extension or do they hold any importance?

    Bezel-Less
    Galaxy Note8

With the technology we possess right now, bezels are important. As much as we would like an all-screen no-bezel phone, it seems highly impractical as of now. Apart from a display, the front of the device also houses a camera, sensors and the earpiece as well. Right now, there isn’t a commercialised technology that can house all of this under a display.

    Bezel-Less
    Doogee Mix 3

A leak of a new smartphone by Doogee, however, could be the ultimate design solution for companies striving for an all-screen phone. The images of the devices were uploaded to Twitter by a popular tipster and reveal a sliding back panel which really looks ingenious. Basically, the front of the phone is almost all-screen and the front-facing camera and earpiece are housed in a sliding back panel.

    Bezel-Less
    Mechanism

If you jog your memory a bit and go back to 2007, you will recall a certain Nokia phone. The Nokia N95 had a two-way slider where it slid from top to reveal the “music keys.” In a similar way, the Doogee Mix 3 slides down from top to reveal a camera and the earpiece. This means that a smartphone maker can fit a display without worrying about the front-facing camera and earpiece.

Samsung recently patented a camera that can be housed inside the display but, as of now, it is nothing more than a patent. Samsung decided to go the “infinity display” route with its 2017 flagship phones. It eliminated the side bezels with an edge display and kept the symmetrical top and bottom bezels. The Xiaomi Mi Mix, launched in 2016 had a tri-bezel less design with the bottom bezel housing the camera.

    Bezel-Less
    iPhone X

The Apple iPhone X launched in September with a design completely different than any of its predecessors. It looked more modern with a glass back and extremely thin bezels all around the display. Apple took the call to get rid of Touch ID altogether and introduced Face ID. But, the most noticeable aspect of the iPhone X was the notch on the display.

    Bezel-Less
    Mi Mix

A case can be made whether having a notch on the display is the way forward. People’s despise towards the iPhone X could also be attributed to consumer’s lack of experience with such anomaly. If more smartphone makers adopt the idea, it will expose consumers to more implementations of the notch. Apart from the Essential-Ph1, no other major smartphone maker decided to implement the notch, which meant that the iPhone X was the only smartphone in the market with a design different than what’s “normal.”

However, the notch on the display might hinder in some people’s experience. The old school slider, however, could be a convenient solution for smartphone makers and consumers alike. Until the “camera under the display” technology is commercialised, this seems like the best bet for companies to achieve the goal of an all-screen no bezel design.

  • The $160 Samsung Galaxy Note8 Clone You’ve Never Heard Of

The $160 Samsung Galaxy Note8 Clone You’ve Never Heard Of

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 was launched in India in late-August at a price of Rs. 67999. It was the first smartphone from Samsung to feature a dual-camera setup on the back and until the Galaxy S9+ is launched, it remains the sole device from Samsung to have that feature. For all its great specifications, display, and a beautiful design, the Galaxy Note8 had a very noticeable flaw which had carried on from the Galaxy S8 and S8+, the fingerprint sensor’s placement. While a lot of quirky moves from big smartphone makers turn out to be iconic, this placement was not appreciated and Samsung has already rectified it with the Samsung Galaxy A8+.

However, it appears that one company decided to leave that aspect of the Galaxy Note8 as it is with its own rendition of the Galaxy Note8. Meiigoo, a Chinese smartphone maker, has launched the Meiigoo Note 8, a Samsung Galaxy Note8 clone with a lot going for it. The company has decided to retain the awkward fingerprint sensor placement found on the original Note but, thanks to the relatively smaller size of the phone, it isn’t too bad.

It has a 5.99 inch IPS LCD display with a 2160 x 1080 px resolution. Even though this isn’t even close to what the Galaxy Note8 has to offer with its 6.3 inch Super AMOLED display with a 2960 x 1440 px resolution, the Meiigoo Note 8 at its price, offers a decent display.

    [amazon_link asins=’B071HWTHBF’ template=’ProductAd’ store=’igyaan-21′ marketplace=’IN’ link_id=’f7bf8c54-fc53-11e7-9cb2-e35f16415f94′]

The bezels around the display are thin but, not as thin as the Galaxy Note8 and that is expected. The company’s decision to go with golden bezels is a bit questionable as black bezels would have definitely looked much better. However, at a price of US $159.99, there are hardly any major things to complain about.

Under the hood, it has the MediaTek MTK6750T chipset, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.

The Meiigoo Note 8 also has a horizontally placed dual-camera setup that looks uncannily similar to that of the Galaxy Note8. It has a 12MP camera along with a 5MP depth sensor for bokeh shots. To the front is an 8MP camera.

While the Samsung Galaxy Note8 is the priciest Samsung available in the market right now, the Meiigoo Note 8 at a price of US $160 (Rs. 10,000 approx.) could be an option for people looking for a ‘Note’ device that won’t break the bank!

  • Limited Edition Samsung Galaxy Note8 PyeongChang 2018 Unveiled

Limited Edition Samsung Galaxy Note8 PyeongChang 2018 Unveiled

Samsung has unveiled a swanky new variant of the Galaxy Note8 which you may never be able to get your hands on. The 2018 Winter Olympics will take place in PyeongChang, South Korea from the 9th of February to February 25th. Samsung, as one of the main sponsors of the Games, will give more than 4000 personalised Galaxy Note8 devices to athletes and IOC staff. These personalised Note8 devices are called the Samsung Galaxy Note8 PyeongChang 2018 Edition.

The new smartphone variant has a shiny white back panel with the iconic golden five-ring Olympics logo. The Galaxy Note8 PyeongChang 2018 Edition will also have a gold colour finish on the phone’s rim, buttons and parts of the S Pen. The limited edition variant will also have preloaded PyeongChang 2018 themed wallpapers and apps “to help cultivate the utmost Olympic Games experience”. Paralympians will also receive this smartphone and their phones will come with cases that will have the Paralympic Games logo.

While this device is exclusively for athletes as of now, Samsung might change its plans and launch this device for the public as well. The company released the 2016 Olympics edition Galaxy S7 Edge to the public as well, though it only sold a couple of thousand units worldwide.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a 6.3 inch 2960 x 1440 px 18.5:9 aspect ratio Super AMOLED display with an 83.1% screen-to-body ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back of the device.

As is with all Samsung flagship devices, the Galaxy Note8 ships with two different chipsets, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, 2.45 GHz octa-core processor with Adreno 540 GPU for USA and China, and the Exynos 8895, 2.3GHz Quad-Core (Custom CPU) + 1.7GHz Quad-Core (Cortex-A53) with Mali-G71 MP20 for the remaining markets. The device also has 6GB RAM and onboard storage options of 64GB/128GB/256GB which is expandable via microSD card up to 256GB.

    Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition

The smartphone is powered by a non-removable 3,300 mAh battery with QuickCharge 2.0 through the USB Type C port and because of the glass at the back, the phone also supports wireless charging as well. The fingerprint sensor sits at the back of the device right next to the dual-cameras.

Horizontally placed dual cameras on the Regular Galaxy Note8

The Galaxy Note 8 runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat with Samsung UX on top. It is also in line to receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update soon.

The Galaxy Note 8 is the first phone from Samsung to feature dual-cameras with a 12MP dual-camera setup, the primary camera has a wide-angle 12MP lens with an f/1.7 aperture and the secondary camera has a 12MP telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture. The dual-cameras are capable of capturing 4K videos at 30 FPS. On the front is an 8MP camera with an f/1.7 aperture and captures 4K videos at 30 FPS.

  • Samsung Galaxy Note8 Users Are Reporting The Same Battery Issue

Samsung Galaxy Note8 Users Are Reporting The Same Battery Issue

When the Samsung Galaxy Note7 was recalled due to serious battery issues, many thought that the ‘Note’ lineup would be scrapped due to the amount of bad press it had attracted. However, in August of 2017, the South Korean tech giant launched the Galaxy Note8. The device had everything, from a great camera to the excellent S Pen integration. It seemed like the days of ‘BatteryGate’ have been left behind by the company.

However, over the past few days, Samsung’s help forum has various posts about user’s Galaxy Note8 not charging. The issue seems to occur after the phone battery is fully drained to 0% and shuts down. When users try to charge the phone again, it doesn’t charge at all.

    One of the posts read:

I’ve tried 3 different power cables and cords but nothing. I charged overnight and still nothing. Completely dead. Phone still looks brand new because I bought a rugged case for it. I’ve treated it like a newborn baby so it must be defective.

It appears that Samsung is aware of the issue. Samsung employees active of the help forum are offering repairs and replacement devices for customers with phones that aren’t charging. So far, the issue is not being reported in enough devices for it to be a huge issue. But, considering what happened with the Galaxy Note 7, it won’t be surprising if Samsung moves ahead with caution when it comes to even the tiniest of battery-related issues.

  • Test Shows OnePlus 5T Is The Fastest Charging Flagship Phone

Test Shows OnePlus 5T Is The Fastest Charging Flagship Phone

As smartphones get thinner, manufacturers usually resort to reducing battery sizes in order to maintain the thickness-to-tech inside ratio. The good news is that the chipsets are getting better at power management and fast charging is really good. Even wireless fast charging is catching up these days and almost every flagship phone now has a USB Type C port.

Recently, OnePlus conceded that the company’s own Dash Charging technology is much better than the wireless technology which is available in the market hence, the OnePlus 5T shipped without wireless charging capabilities. So, how good is Dash Charging, then? Apparently, it’s the best in the market and a test has proven that.

The test included all the top flagship phones of 2017, the Samsung Galaxy Note8, LG V30, OnePlus 5T, Google Pixel 2, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X. All the Android phones have a USB Type C port and the three iPhones of course, have the lightning port. The iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X support fast charging if you buy the adapter and a Type C to lighting port cable from Apple.

The battery percentages were checked after 30 minutes of charging. It is worth noting here that all the screens were off during the test and the three iPhones were charged using the fast charging gear. After 30 minutes, the OnePlus 5T was at 59% while the LG V30 was the first runner-up at 53% and the iPhone X was at 50%.

At the one-hour mark, the OnePlus 5T was the winner again at 93%, 7% more than LG V30’s 86%. The iPhone X was at 81%, closely followed by the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus at 80% and 79%, respectively.

The OnePlus 5T turned out to be better than the competition thanks to its Dash Charge technology, which is different from Qualcomm’s QuickCharge. Dash Charge delivers higher amperage than QuickCharge and uses dedicated circuitry in the charger itself for heat management. So, if charging up your phone at a blazing speed is your top priority, then it is worth taking a look at the OnePlus 5T as your next flagship phone.

Samsung Galaxy Note8 | Unboxing And Hands On

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has been launched in India at a price of Rs 67900 for the 6GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage variant, the price is not a lot more than that of the S8+ 128GB variant. The Note8 which was announced recently for the global market, has made its way to India rather soon. The signature flagship S Pen equipped Note8 replaces the Note7 which never made its way to India officially.

In a signature Samsung fashion, the box of the Galaxy Note8 has ‘Note8’ embossed on the box in a blue colour, with the storage variant written at the side of it. An over view of the specifications can be found on the back of the box. Inside You get the following:

We have the Midnight Black colour variant and the phone has been lauched in Maple Gold colour as well. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 is the first Note device to launch in India after the Galaxy Note5, but, the design of the Note8 is more reminiscent of the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The device retains most of the design elements of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back and a metal frame around the edges. On the front is also a 6.3 inch 2960 x 1440 px Super AMOLED infinity display with minimal bezels on the top and bottom of the phone. The aspect ratio of the phone is 18.5:9, which is the same as the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The fingerprint sensor as well is still placed at the back of the phone right next to the dual-cameras. The edges of the device are more squared off, which is a signature design aspect of the Note series.

Powering the device is a 3300 mAh battery which is smaller than the 3500 mAh battery found on the Galaxy Note7 with wireless charging capabilities, and runs Android Nougat 7.1.1 with Samsung’s custom skin on top. The device has the Exynos 8895 chipset, 2.3GHz Quad-Core (Custom CPU) + 1.7GHz Quad-Core (Cortex-A53) processor, 6GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage, which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. The graphics are handled by the Mali-G71 MP20 GPU. The Galaxy Note8 and the S Pen are both IP68 certified water and dust resistant.

The new Note8 has a 12MP dual-camera setup, one of which has a wide lens and the other a telephoto. The telephoto lens allows a user to zoom in losslessly for an up to 2x magnification. The use of dual camera allows for the ability to blur out the background for professional looking bokeh effect shots, something that seems to be common in smartphones in 2017. This is much like effects seen on past dual camera phones like the iPhone 7 Plus to the OnePlus 5 and the Xiaomi Mi A1.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 also records 4K videos at 30 FPS along with high-speed video at a lower resolution. The front camera has an 8MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and also records 4K UHD videos at 30 FPS.

The new S Pen has a list of new features that make the Note8 exciting, especially for previous Note device owners. The new live message allows you to scribble a message and then save the animation as a Gif file. This can then be shared with anyone using any app that supports Gif files and is not restricted to Samsung devices. The Pen glance feature and snap window are some other interesting things that we have detailed in our unboxing video below.

  • Samsung Galaxy Note8 Launched In India For Rs 67900

Samsung Galaxy Note8 Launched In India For Rs 67900

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Note8 in India at a price of Rs. 67900 for the 64GB onboard storage variant. The Galaxy Note8 is the first note series smartphone to sell in India in always two years, since the launch of the Note5. While Samsung had taken registration for the Note7 last year, the company never launched the phone in India due to its global recall. The Galaxy Note8 is the third Samsung flagship smartphone launched in the country in 2017 after the Galaxy S8 and S8+ were launched earlier in the year. Despite the late launch and the success of the Galaxy S8 and S+, over 250,000 people registered on Samsung India’s official website to buy the phone.

The Galaxy Note8 has a 6.3 inch 2960 x 1440 px Super AMOLED display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, which is the same aspect ratio found on the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The Galaxy Note8 retains the design language of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ with an all glass body and a metal frame and an awkwardly placed fingerprint sensor at the back. The Note8 also retains the dedicated Bixby button and Samsung has announced that Bixby Voice will now be available in India. The differentiating aspect of the design is the cornered edges, which has become a signature of the Note series. The Galaxy Note8 and the S Pen are both IP68 certified water and dust resistant and will be available in Midnight Black and Maple Gold colour variants.

The Galaxy Note8 is also the first Samsung smartphone to feature a dual-camera setup. The Galaxy Note8, Samsung claims, is the first smartphone to feature OIS in both the cameras at the back.

Over the years, the Note series has grown from a more business buyers-centric lineup into a broader audience targeted lineup. The large screen, premium specifications and build quality have made the Note devices ideal for media consumption. The Galaxy Note8 is also the only smartphone in 2017 that sells with a stylus as a bundle. The S pen is not an ordinary stylus and has a lot of features that make it unique. Smart Select, which allows you to easily select, clip and copy the content that you like. A new addition to the Note8 is the ability to send .gif messages drawn using the S Pen, which will playback to the recipient in the way you draw them, much like those seen on iMessage. The Screen Off Memo, allows users to quickly jot down important notes and details, when the phone is locked with the screen off, this is activated automatically when the pen is removed from the Note8. • Samsung Galaxy Note8 Has Received 250,000 Registrations In India

Samsung Galaxy Note8 Has Received 250,000 Registrations In India

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has already received record-breaking pre-orders in the United States and South Korea. In India, Samsung’s new flagship device, the Galaxy Note8 will launch on September 12th and according to the company over 250,000 people have already registered on Samsung India’s official website.

Samsung India’s website accepts registration by collecting contact information. This registration does not require any financial transaction and is different from a pre-order. In comparison the Galaxy S8 and S8+ had received 150,000 Pre-orders (not registrations) when they were launched in India earlier this year. How many of the 2.5 lac people, already registered with Samsung, will buy the phone is yet unknown. The Galaxy Note8 is the first note series smartphone to sell in India in always two years, since the launch of the Note5. While Samsung had taken registration for the Note7 last year, the company never launched the phone in India due to its global recall. The high number of Note8 registrations is also said to be due to the large number of Note loyalist waiting to upgrade from their dated Note5 devices.  Samsung will bundle the first few orders of the Galaxy Note8 with its DeX dock and data offers to excite the customer, and also to introduce them to the new DeX dock which is an upgraded version of the DeX dock launched with the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The Note8 also features the Bixby assistant, with a dedicated button like the Galaxy S8 and S8+, however, Bixby voice is not available in India yet.

Samsung’s Note lineup has always been unique, and is presently the only smartphone which sells with a stylus as a bundle. The Pen was designed and utilised in the Note series by the South Korean manufacturer because the company wanted to make and sell a phone to the business buyer. However, after several launches of the Note series of phones, the consumer audience has accepted and appreciated the Note phones as a flagship, due to the design and materials used in the phone along with some of the features it offers.

The Note8 just like every Note phone before it includes a S Pen. But, the S pen is not an ordinary stylus and has a lot of features that make it unique. The S Pen is closely linked to the Note8, so the phone will remind you to pick if your S Pen if you leave it behind. The Note8 also activates a S Pen specific menu each time you pull the Pen from the device. These features mixed with the iP68 certification of both the S-pen and Note8 can draw the consumers toward shelling out the extra money Samsung is asking for the Note8.

Samsung has a lot riding on the Galaxy Note8, especially considering the bad press the company got from the Note7 last year. The new note has a 12MP dual-camera setup, one of which has a wide lens and the other a telephoto. The telephoto lens allows a user to zoom in loss-lessly for an upto 2x magnification. The use of dual camera allows for the ability to blur out the background for professional looking bokeh effect shots, something that seems to be common in smartphones in 2017. This is much like effects seen on past dual camera phones all the way from the iPhone 7 Plus to the new Mi Ai with devices from companies like Huawei and OnePlus offing similar functionality. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 also records 4K videos at 30 FPS along with high speed video at a lower resolution. The front camera has an 8MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and also records 4K UHD videos at 30 FPS.

The Note8 is expected to launch in India in only one of the three storage variants available globally, the phone will subsequently go on sale after the September 12th launch.  With a high expected launch price (Rs. 74999) and not a lot of unique differences in the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8, buyers may opt for the Samsung Galaxy S8+ with identical features (sans S Pen)  and a much lower price of Rs. 65,999.

Samsung Galaxy Note8 Breaks Pre-Order Records In USA And South Korea

The August 23 launch of Samsung Galaxy Note8 was one of the most anticipated events of the year and Samsung unveiled a worthy successor to the Galaxy Note7. The South Korean smartphone maker announced that customers have pre-ordered the Galaxy Note8 more than any other Note device ever sold by the company.

The steep price of USD 930 had cast a shadow of doubt over the success of the phone, but, Samsung tried to justify that price by bundling a DeX dock and Samsung Gear products for the first few pre-orders. Samsung also announced heavy discounts for previous owners of Galaxy Note7 who traded in their current devices. There were reports that the Galaxy Note8 in South Korea has received 395,000 pre-orders, which is already much more than the number for the Galaxy Note7 last year.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a 6.3 inch 2960 x 1440 px Super AMOLED display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, similar to the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The phone runs Android 7.1.1 with Samsung’s custom UI on top and is powered by 3,300 mAh battery with QuckCharge 3.0 capabilities. Under the hood, the Galaxy Note8, for the Indian market has the Exynos 8895 chipset, 2.3GHz Quad-Core (Custom CPU)+1.7GHz Quad-Core (Cortex-A53) processor, Mali-G71 MP20 GPU, 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB storage options. The onboard storage can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. In a disappointing move, Samsung retained the awkward placement of the fingerprint sensor right next to the dual cameras at the back.

Talking about cameras, the Galaxy Note 8 is the first phone from Samsung to feature dual-cameras with a 12MP dual-camera setup, the primary camera has a wide-angle 12MP lens with an f/1.7 aperture and the secondary camera has a 12MP telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture. The telephoto lens enables a 2X lossless optical zoom and has features such as the Bokeh effect, much like the iPhone 7 Plus. The dual-cameras are capable of capturing 4K videos at 30 FPS On the front is an 8MP camera with an f/1.7 aperture and captures 4K videos at 30 FPS.

Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note8 in India on September 12 for a reported price of Rs 74,999 and the pre-orders have already started on its official website.
