    Samsung Launches Galaxy A8 Tab In India

    Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Tab S5e and Galaxy Tab 10.1 in India. Following the launch of mid-range tablets, it has launched the budget-oriented Galaxy Tab A 8 (2019) in the country.

    The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 measures 201.5 x 122.4 x 8.9 and tips the scale at 325 grams. The front of the tablet accommodates an 8-inch TFT display with 1920 x 1200 px resolution. The left and right bezels surrounding the display are quite thin while the top and bottom bezels are comparatively thicker. The bezel above the display makes room for the 2 MP front-facing selfie camera and the earpiece for answering phone calls.

    Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 packs the Snapdragon SoC which consists of an Octa-Core CPU. In terms of memory and storage, it features 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of ROM which is further expandable upto 512 GB via a microSD card. The tablet is powered by a 5100 mAh battery and runs on Android 9 Pie.

    The rear of the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 carries the company branding and an 8 MP camera which can also capture 1080p videos at 30 fps. Connectivity options on the device include 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

    Samsung Announces Galaxy Tab A 8.0 With 5100 mAh Battery

    Following the launch of Galaxy Tab S5e and Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung has announced another tablet. The new tablet computer is dubbed the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 and is targeted towards the budget consumers.

    The front of the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 accommodates an 8 inch TFT display which is surrounded by thick bezels on all four sides. The display panel on the Galaxy Tab 8.0 has a resolution of 1280 x 800 px and 16:10 aspect ratio. The rear of the smartphone has an aluminium construction which houses the company branding and rear-facing camera. 

    In terms of weight and dimensions, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 measures 210 x 124.4 x 8 mm and tips the scale at 345 g (Wi-Fi variant). The variant with 4G VoLTE support weighs a tad bit more at 347 g. For photography, the tablet computer features and 8 MP camera on the rear and a 2 MP camera on the front which is placed in the bezel above the display. 

    The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is offered in a single storage variant which packs 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of ROM. Besides, it also supports memory expansion upto 512 GB via a microSD card. To compliment media consumption on a large screen display, the tablet computer also features dual speakers.

    The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is powered by a 5,100 mAh battery which supports 10 w charging. Connectivity options on the device include 802.11 Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and micro USB 2.0. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is equipped with an Octa Core CPU which has a clock speed of 2.0 GHz.

    Samsung has not revealed the exact details of the chipset on the tablet, however, past leaks claim that it is a Snapdragon 430 SoC. The price of the Galaxy Tab 8.0 is not yet revealed but is expected to be announced shortly. Going by the specs and features it will be a sub US $ 200 tablet.

    All in all, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has a solid construction with modest specifications. Even though the device is not made purposely for gaming, the segment that it is targeted towards would mostly use it for light media consumption and web browsing. Performing day to day tasks on the tablet won’t be a fuss and if Samsung is able to price it aggressively, it could be a big hit amongst users who are looking for a budget offering or a secondary tablet.

    The tablet market has been dominated by Samsung in the Indian Market in 2019. The tech giant has historically always had an audience for its larger-screened product range in the southeast Asian country. The South Korean company is now seeking to expand it’s lineup with three new Galaxy entries in the tablet segment.

The success is not a first as of year 2018, Samsung had a 50 percent market share value with an estimated 49 percent share in sales volume. A top executive of the company has now announced three upcoming tablets that will bolster the aforementioned financial figures.

    With this years lineup, Samsung is hoping for a net growth of 20 percent. According to a senior official, the company has already registered double-digit growth in comparison to the preceding year and is now seeking to revive the ‘stagnant’ tablet space in the country in 2019. Tablets are a bigger size offering against smartphones that allows media consumption, entertainment, and even workloads being enhanced and a tad bit more accessible. Furthermore, users now browse, shop and use multimedia functions more than ever before and these large devices provide a great platform to experience it.

Now, a new Samsung tablet called the Galaxy Tab A 2019 has made an appearance on the Android Enterprise website which suggests its launch is imminent.

    The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2019 will be the company’s latest budget tablet offering. According to the listing on Android Enterprise website, the device has an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800. The images attached to the listing reveal the display on the tablet is surrounded by considerable bezels on all sides. There is no physical fingerprint scanner on the device, which might mean users will have to rely on traditional unlocking methods; such as numerical pin, passwords and pattern.

    The Samsung Galaxy Tab A has been leaked to run on the 12nm Snapdragon 429 SoC. The chipset is comprised of an Octa-core CPU and the Adreno 504 GPU. For memory and storage, the device will have 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The images reveal there will be a single selfie camera placed on the top bezel above the display. It is expected that a single sensor will also be present on the rear of the tablet. The device will run on the latest Android 9 Pie, presumably with a skinned OneUI on top of it.

    It is also reported that the Galaxy Tab A 2019 will have support for LTE, so the option of voice calls may be provided. Like mentioned above, the listing on the Android Enterprise website suggests the launch of the device is imminent. Unfortunately, it is not known what the tablet will be priced, but it may cost around Rs. 10,000 for prospective buyers.

    The rear of the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 carries the company branding and an 8 MP camera which can also capture 1080p videos at 30 fps. Connectivity options on the device include 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The Galaxy S Pen is securely stored in the body of the tablet and is IP68 rated which makes it dust-proof and waterproof. It can be used for both taking notes and creating drawing illustrations.

    The tablet will be available in two Gray and Black colour options. Unfortunately, Samsung has not yet provided any details about the pricing or availability of the Galaxy Tab A 8.0.
