Samsung has unveiled the latest instalment in the Galaxy Tab series. Galaxy Tab S5e is a capable device that seeks to strengthen the tech giants hold over the Indian tablet market. The device features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 with a Full HD+ display. It is also equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

Samsung has silently launched two new Android tablets in India, both of which cater to an entirely different audience. The two newly launched devices include the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 and the Galaxy Tab S5e, out of which, the former is targeted to the mid range segment while the latter is targeted to premium segment.
The Galaxy Tab S5e has an attractive design with thin bezels around the display and a sleek side profile. The tablet measures 245 x 160 x 5.5 mm and tips the scale at 400 grams. It features a 10.5 inch Super AMOLED display that has a 16:10 aspect ratio. The display panel has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 px and a pixel density of 287 ppi. The bezel above the display houses an f/2.0 aperture equipped 8 MP selfie camera that has a pixel size of 1.12 ultra micron. 
The right side of the Galaxy Tab S5e houses the SIM card slot, volume rockers, and the power button which doubles as a fingerprint scanner. The device has a total of four speakers, out of which two sit on top and two on the bottom. The rear of the tablet is occupied by a 13 MP camera, Samsung branding and AKG logo. AKG is an Austrian company that is famous for its headphones and microphones. The company is now owned by Samsung and the logo behind the Galaxy Tab S5e conveys that the device has an admirable audio output. The tablet can also capture 2160p videos at 30fps from the rear camera and 1080p videos at 30fps from the front shooter. 
Galaxy Tab S5e is kitted with the Snapdragon 670 SoC which is comprised of Adreno 612 GPU and an Octa-Core CPU. In terms of connectivity, the tablet supports 4G VoLTE, 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and a bottom mounted USB Type-C port for charging and data syncing. The device is powered by a mammoth 7,040 mAh battery that also supports fast charging. It runs on Android 9.0 pie which is skinned with Samsung’s One UI. In terms of memory and storage, the tablet has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM. Besides, it also supports memory expansion up to 512 GB via a microSD card.
Similar to the Galaxy Tab S5e, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 also features a large screen display on the front and a metal unibody which provides an elegant look. Speaking of dimensions, the tablet measures 245 x 149 x 7.5 mm and weighs 470 g. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 a 10.1 inch LCD display that has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 px and a pixel density of 224 ppi.
For photography, it features a 5 MP front facing selfie camera and an 8 MP rear camera. Both the front and rear camera can also shoot 1080p videos @ 30fps. Connectivity options on the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5 mm audio jack and a bottom mounted USB Type C port. The tablet is powered by a large 6150 mAh battery which is claimed to provide a battery backup of 13 hours.
Under the hoods, the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 packs the Exynos 7904 SoC which is also featured on the Samsung Galaxy M30 and Galaxy A30. The chipset consists of an Octa Core CPU and Mali G71 MP2 GPU. The tablet has 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable upto 512 GB via a microSD card.

The high end S5e is now available for purchase on Samsung India website while the Tab A 10.1 is currently listed as ‘notify me’.
The tablet market has been dominated by Samsung in the Indian Market in 2019. The tech giant has historically always had an audience for its larger-screened product range in the southeast Asian country. According to a senior official, the company has already registered double-digit growth in comparison to the preceding year and is now seeking to revive the ‘stagnant’ tablet space in the country in 2019. Tablets are a bigger size offering against smartphones that allows media consumption, entertainment, and even workloads being enhanced and a tad bit more accessible. Furthermore, users now browse, shop and use multimedia functions more than ever before and these large devices provide a great platform to experience it.
Samsung plans on capitalizing on this demand through its offering of bigger displays and top-notch hardware to further penetrate the tablet market. The first of these devices will be the Galaxy Tab S5e that is expected to be priced between Rs.30,000 and Rs.40,000. While the Galaxy Tab A10.1, a mid-range tab, may fall within the price bracket of Rs.10,000 to Rs.15,000. The last of these devices is a budget device, the Galaxy Tab A8, that might be priced at Rs.10,000 or sub 10k range.

The Indian market has seen a growth spurt of 62 per cent with demands for 4G network capable tablets in just Q1 of 2019. The Samsung Galaxy A2 Core will be the second Android Go device from the company, the first one being the Galaxy J2 Core. A few days ago, a known tipster leaked the images of the device. While the previous leaks don’t mention any specifications of the Galaxy A2 Core, a recent listing on CPU benchmarking website Geekbench revealed key specifications of the Galaxy A2 Core. The device runs Android 8.1 Oreo Go edition out of the box and is expected to feature Samsung’s Experience UI on top.
The Samsung Galaxy A2 Core runs on the 14nm Exynos 7870 SoC. The chipset has an Octa-core CPU and Mali-T830 MP1 GPU. The smartphone will have 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage. The leaked listing suggests that the smartphone may be on its way to the retail market soon. Given Samsung’s aggressive stance on pricing lately, the expected price of the smartphone is Rs. 5,990.
The Galaxy A20 features a polycarbonate body with a similar design language to the Galaxy A10 and the Galaxy A30. While the front of the smartphone resembles the former handset, the back is similar to the latter. The device has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1560 x 720 px. The front has minimal bezels all around the display with a small Infinity-V style waterdrop notch on top. The rear of the smartphone houses a fingerprint sensor which allows it to securely unlocked. Additionally, it also supports face unlock technology.

The device has a dual rear camera setup comprised of a 13MP sensor with an aperture of f/1.9 and a 5MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, it has an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture housed in the notch on top of the display. The smartphone is available with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is further expandable by up to 512GB with microSD support. The Galaxy A20 is powered by a 4000mAh battery, which is an upgrade over the 3400mAh found on the Galaxy A10. The Galaxy A20 was launched in Russia for the price of RUB 13,990 (Rs. 14,999) which would mean it would be priced similarly in India.

The press renders of an unreleased Samsung tablet have leaked online which are assumed to be of the Galaxy Tab S5e. The leak is detailed enough to reveal the complete design language of the device.

The leak was shared on Twitter and shows a metal-clad tablet with minimal bezels. Past reports have claimed that the lite variant of the Galaxy S10 will officially be called Galaxy S10e. Therefore, the Tab S5e might be a specced down variant of the Galaxy Tab S5. The images exhibit that the tablet has a sleek body and a modern design. This design of the leaked device is reminiscent of that of the Apple iPad Pro 2018.
The image posted on Twitter discloses the design of the Galaxy Tab S5e from front, back and right. According to the leak, the upcoming tablet has a side-mounted power button that also doubles as the fingerprint sensor. In addition to the power button, the right side of the device houses a pogo-pin style connector which might be used to connect to proprietary Samsung accessories. The rear of the tablet carries the company branding, ‘Tuned by AKG’ logo and a single camera. AKG is a notable Austrian microphone and headphone company that is is now owned by Samsung. The AKG logo at the back of the Tab S5e suggests that the device will have commendable audio performance.
The front of the tablet features a large screen-to-body ratio display with minimal bezels. The icons on the lock screen insist that the tablet runs on Samsung’s OneUI, which is likely to be built on top of the latest Android 9 Pie. Assumedly, the upcoming tablet is a budget-focused device which may replace the previously launched Galaxy Tab A or just be a new entrant in the company’s tablet lineup.
