Top Five Smartphones Under Rs 20,000 With A Massive Battery

Smartphones have improved a lot in the last few years. And now, we have smartphones with four cameras, high-resolution displays and faster chipsets. Moto E5 Plus With A Glass Back Leaked In Hands-On Images

Motorola is expected to launch the Moto G6 and E5 series in the coming months. However, we are yet to receive any official statement from the company on these devices. Leaks and rumours have suggested that all the upcoming smartphones will have 18:9 aspect ratio display with a glass unibody design. This time someone has leaked the live images of the Moto E5 Plus, which reaffirms the aforementioned facts.

The leaked images show the Moto E5 Plus in its all glory. The smartphone has a glass back with a circular camera cutout similar to the Moto X4. However, even though it has two camera grills, the device has a single camera sensor. The moto logo is just below the camera cutout, which might house the fingerprint sensor. But, except for the Moto M, the company has never implemented a rear-facing fingerprint sensor.

    Moto E5 Plus

On the front, we have a taller display, with 18:9 aspect ratio with rounded corners on all four sides, similar to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Additionally, there is an earpiece, front-facing camera and an LED flash.

    Moto E5 Plus Specs

The Moto E5 Plus comes with 5.8-inch 1440 x 720px IPS LCD display with 2.5D tempered glass protection. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an unknown quad-core chipset with 3GB RAM and 32GB/64GB onboard flash storage.

The mobile has a primary camera setup with dual camera cutout like the recently leaked Moto G6 lineup. However, it just has a single 16MP primary camera and an empty cutout. Similarly, there is an 8MP front-facing camera assisted by an LED flash. The smartphone will have a sealed 5000 mAh Li-ion battery.

    Moto E5 Plus
    Moto X4

The smartphone is expected to run on nearly stock Android 8 Oreo OS. In fact, there were rumours of Motorola adopting Lenovo’s custom skin for its upcoming line of budget smartphone. That, however, does not seem plausible.

  • Moto G6, G6 Plus, G6 Play Could Soon Be Launched In India

Moto G6, G6 Plus, G6 Play Could Soon Be Launched In India

We often see flagship features trickle down to mid-range devices. In 2017, we saw flagship smartphones with 18:9 aspect ratio display. Similarly, the latter part of 2017 saw devices like the Honor 7X with an 18:9 aspect ratio. 2018 will see more budget smartphones with an 18:9 aspect ratio and the Moto G6 series will be no different.

These smartphones are expected to feature a premium glass design similar to the Moto X4 and are expected to be launched soon. In fact, the entire Moto G6 lineup has been certified by NBTC and TKDN in Thailand and Indonesia.

    Moto G6

The Moto G6 and the Moto E5 series is expected to be made official in Asian markets. Subsequently, India is one of the important markets for Moto and could be one of the first few markets to get the devices.

    Moto G6 Specifications

The device is most likely to have a 5.7-inch 2160 x 1080p IPS LCD display. Under the hood, the smartphone, as mentioned in the listing, will be powered by the Snapdragon 450 chipset with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.

The Moto G6, in all probability, will run Android 8 Oreo out of the box. However, considering the recent behaviour of other OEMs, it won’t be surprising to see the Moto G6 running Android 7 Nougat. The device is expected to feature a 3000 mAh battery with Turbocharging capability.

The device will have a dual 12 MP + 5 MP primary cameras with an 8 MP front-facing camera.

The device might run on Android 8 Oreo out of the box. However, instead of stock Android, the Moto G6 Play comes with Lenovo’s custom ZUK skin. However, that is hard to believe since Motorola has had success with its close to stock Android OS devices. Finally, the smartphone packs in a massive 4000 mAh battery with no mention of fast charging what so ever.

  • Xiaomi Redmi 5 Vs Samsung J7 Nxt Vs Moto G5s

Xiaomi Redmi 5 Vs Samsung J7 Nxt Vs Moto G5s

Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi 5 in India for a starting price of Rs 7,999. The device comes with a metal unibody design with an 18:9 aspect ratio display. In fact, this is the cheapest Redmi smartphone to feature 18:9 aspect ratio display. And can be deemed as a downscaled version of the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.

At the time of launch, the device was compared to smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy J7 Nxt and Moto G5s. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Nxt is one of the most affordable smartphones from the South Korean smartphone maker. The smartphone has a 5.5 inch HD 1280 x 720 px Super AMOLED display with 16:9 aspect ratio. Though the device has prominent bezels compared to the Redmi 5, the OLED panel offers impressive black levels and high contrast ratio.

    Xiaomi Redmi 5

The Galaxy J7 NXt is powered by Exynos Octa-core chipset with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. However, unlike the Moto G5s and the Redmi 5, the device does not have a fingerprint scanner. Similarly, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Nxt also misses out on the full metal unibody design.

The Moto G5S is the close contender for the Redmi 5. The smartphone has a full metal unibody design and a fingerprint sensor. Stock Android OS is also an added advantage for the Device. However, unlike other two devices, the smartphone has a full HD 5.2 IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

  • Motorola’s Virtual Reality Headset MotoMod Leaked

Motorola’s Virtual Reality Headset MotoMod Leaked

Motorola and its high-end Moto Z series are known for their modularity. The Moto Z smartphones are compatible with all the MotoMods that the company has launched. The Mods attach to the back of the smartphones like a lego to add extra functionality. Mods like a JBL speaker, Hasselblad camera Mod also comes with their own battery. In fact, these Moto Mods works fine with both the generations of Moto Z devices.

    Virtual Viewer MotoMod

An upcoming MotoMod, which is similar to the Google Day Dream VR headset has been leaked online. This could be the first VR centric mod from the company. However, things are not very clear and there is no information on the specifications.

The round camera cut-out is similar to the one that we have seen in all of the MotoMods. The Mod has an opening on the right and the left side, which should help for the sliding mechanism. The camera cut-out might hint towards the AR capabilities of the Mod. However, the leak does not suggest anything about its functions, capabilities, or even the pricing.

    MotoMod

A recent report has claimed that Motorola will only focus on mods that are profitable. This means that niche mods like the gamepad or Polaroid camera might be scraped off. However, virtual reality has recently picked up the pace which means that the Moto Virtual Viewer makes sense for the company. There is a lot of VR content available now. However, the pricing will be key to the success of this MotoMod.

  • There May Not Be A Moto X5

There May Not Be A Moto X5

Lenovo-owned Motorola is expected to launch quite a few devices in the coming weeks. As many as six smartphones in the Moto E and G series have been leaked so far. However, there appears to be a shadow of uncertainty over the company’s X lineup. A new report has claimed that the company won’t launch the Moto X5 and instead focus on the E, G and Z series of smartphones.

    Leaked Moto X5 Render

However, the report hasn’t claimed that this is the end of the road for the X series. The Moto X4 was launched in India back in November 2017. The device entered that segment of the market where not a lot of phones resided. With a great build quality, software and camera performance, the Moto X4 is still a great pick for people willing to spend about Rs. 20,000 on a smartphone.

However, Motorola appears to have other plans for the smartphone series. Along with the Moto X series, the company will also do away with niche Moto Mods. This means that Motorola might concentrate on more battery and style mods instead of a gamepad or the Polaroid camera mods.

    Rumours

This report has surfaced after Lenovo apparently laid off about 50% of Motorola’s workforce. However, the company, later on, cleared the air around the rumours:

In late 2017, Lenovo announced a worldwide resource action that would occur over the next several quarters, and impacting less than two percent of its global workforce. This week’s employment reductions are a continuation of that process.

We are reducing our Motorola operations in Chicago however this did not impact half of our workforce there and our Moto Z family will continue.

The Moto X5 was leaked back in January along with the Moto G lineup. This could mean that the company was working on the Moto X5 and then decided to scrape it off. However, nothing can be said with certainty as of now.

  • Moto G6 Play Live Images Leaked

Moto G6 Play Live Images Leaked

Lenovo-owned Motorola is expected to launch quite a few smartphones in the coming weeks. Three smartphones each in the Moto E and Moto G series have been leaked so far. Recently, live images of a possible Moto E5 Play were leaked. However, new images of the Moto G6 Play have now surfaced online.

The leaked images reinstate a few details we already knew about the upcoming lineup of Moto smartphones. The Moto G6 Play is expected to have an 18:9 aspect ratio. The bezels thinner than previous gen Moto phones. However, it will by no means, be the thinnest we will ever see. A lot like the Redmi Note 5 or Note 5 Pro. The “Moto” branding will be replaced by “Motorola” on the front.

On the back of the smartphone will be a single camera and an LED flash. The fingerprint sensor appears to be housed in the Moto logo, which is an interesting implementation. Probably something Apple could have done with the iPhone X? The Moto G6 Play was recently listed on GeekBench with the complete specifications.

    Specifications:

The Moto G6 Play has a 5.7-inch IPS LCD 1440 x 720 px resolution, protected by 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood, the smartphone sports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa-core chipset with 3GB RAM. The device scores 472 points on a single-core and 1801 points on multi-core on Geekbench.

Finally, the smartphone packs in a massive 4000 mAh battery with no mention of fast charging what so ever.

Three new Motorola smartphones have surfaced online. This time around, it is the Moto E5 series. The Moto E5 series follows the recent smartphone trend with an 18:9 aspect ratio display. However, we are still unclear about the display aspect ratio on the Moto E5 Play and the Moto E5, as the report does not mention anything on the aspect ratio.

Earlier reports have shown that the Moto E5 and the Moto G6 series will feature a glass back, glass front and an aluminium mid-frame like the Moto X4. The company is expected to launch the Moto E5, Moto E5 Play and the Moto E5 Plus in April along with the Moto G6 series.Moto E5 Play

  • Nokia 7 Plus Vs Moto X4

Nokia 7 Plus Vs Moto X4

HMD Global launched the Nokia 7 Plus at MWC 2018. Leaked way ahead of its official launch, the Nokia 7 Plus garnered a lot of interest. It was touted to be the first-ever Nokia smartphone with an 18:9 aspect ratio. However, the Nokia 89 Sirocco, launched along with the 7 Plus, has the same aspect ratio. The price of the Nokia 7 Plus EUR 399 (Rs 31000).

However, if the company decides to launch the Nokia 7 Plus in India, it will have to be priced below the estimated price. The Nokia 7 Plus at a price of Rs. 25000 would really be one of the best options on the market. At Rs. 28000 or thereabouts, the Honor View10 has a better chipset and features like AI integration. However, at Rs. 25000 price bracket, the Nokia 7 Plus has competition from the Moto X4 and Honor 8 Pro at best.

The Moto X4 has a glass back while the Nokia 7 Plus has an aluminium unibody design. However, the Nokia 7 Plus has subtle accents around the camera and fingerprint sensor, similar to the Nokia 6 (2018). So, if the Nokia 7 Plus is launched at around Rs. 25000, which smartphone comes out on top? Let’s find out!

  • The Iconic Moto RAZR Might Come Back As A Foldable Smartphone

The Iconic Moto RAZR Might Come Back As A Foldable Smartphone

Back in 2004, way before the rise of Android and iOS, the Moto RAZR was one of the most sought-after phones. The flip phone looked premium and at the time of the launch, was wanted by almost everyone. Nokia, at that time, was the most successful phone maker and the Moto RAZR was a worthy competitor. It sold over 130 million units during its run.

Since then, Motorola has gone on to be owned by Google, and then Lenovo. It now makes Android smartphones that are nothing like the Moto RAZR. However, there is still hope. There is a possibility of the Moto RAZR making a comeback in the smartphone industry. However, don’t take our word. This is according to a comment made by the CEO of Lenovo:

With the new technology, particularly foldable screens, I think you will see more and more innovation on our smartphone design. So hopefully what you just described (referring to the Moto RAZR brand) will be developed or realized very soon.

When asked to confirm if he was specifically referring to the RAZR, he replied, “I think I have already answered the question”. It is fair to say that the company has plans for reimagining a classic with the modern-day technology. However, don’t hold your breath to it as this smartphone could be a few years away.

    Nokia 8810 4G At MWC 2018

However, what will be interesting to see is the implementation of the modern-day smartphone. Much like what Nokia has done, we could see a revamped Moto RAZR with updated features, camera, and a build reminiscent of the old Moto RAZR. On the other hand, it could be a complete revamp of the old phone. Lenovo could launch a foldable smartphone running Android which folds to look like the Moto RAZR. Opportunities, as they say, are endless here.

    Conclusion

HMD Global, in particular, has been instrumental in reviving a few Nokia classics. Right from the Nokia 3310 4G model to the recently launched Nokia 8810 4G, some classics have been revamped to suit the current market. Since the Moto RAZR was such an iconic phone and has been a part of the pop culture in that era, it could be a great move for Lenovo-Moto.

  • Moto E5 Plus Leaked Ahead Of MWC Launch

Moto E5 Plus Leaked Ahead Of MWC Launch

A new Motorola Moto E5 Plus smartphone leaked online by the tipster Evan Blass. However, this time it is an E series device rather than the G series device. At the first glance, we couldn’t make much of difference between the two. This is the first smartphone from Moto E lineup with the premium glass design.

Interestingly, the fingerprint sensor will be housed inside the Moto logo on the back. Rumours predict that the company might launch the upgraded Moto G6 and Moto E5 series at the MWC 2018.

    Specifications:

The Moto E5 Plus comes with 5.8-inch 1440 x 720px IPS LCD display with 2.5D tempered glass protection. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an unknown quad-core chipset with 3GB RAM and 32GB/64GB onboard flash storage.

The mobile has a primary camera setup with dual camera cutout like the recently leaked Moto G6 lineup. However, it just has a single 13 MP primary camera and an empty cutout. However, on the front of the smartphone will be a dual camera setup of a 5MP primary sensor coupled with a 2MP depth sensor.

The smartphone is expected to run on nearly stock Android 8 Oreo OS. In fact, there were rumours of Motorola adopting Lenovo’s custom skin for its upcoming line of budget smartphone. That, however, does not seem plausible.

    Conclusion:

With the launch of 6th generation Moto smartphones, the is getting ready for the bezel-less frontier. However, as this is just a leak we have to wait until official announcement for the detailed specifications. Moto E5 Plus looks great with the modern design. In fact, it might contend with the Honor 9 Lite.

    Moto G6 Specifications Leaked

The recent leaks and rumours about the Moto G6, Moto G6 Play and Moto G6 Plus are hinting towards the launch of these phones at MWC 2018. However, the company has not made any announcements pertaining to MWC 2018.

The upcoming Moto G devices are expected to have an 18:9 aspect ratio. In fact, these will be the first few smartphones from Motorola to feature a modern design with thin bezels.

The Moto G6 was spotted on Geekbench, revealing some of its specifications. The Geekbench listing reveals that the smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Octa-core processor with the base frequency of 1.8 GHz. The phone scores 709 points on a single core and 3582  points for the multi-core performance.

The only chipset that matches the above equation is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450. This seems accurate considering the Moto G5 was launched with the Snapdragon 430 chipset. However, these are still leaks and nothing can be said concretely.

    Specifications:

The Moto G6 is most likely to have a 5.7-inch 2160 x 1080p IPS LCD display.

    Conclusion:

Motorola has been doing well in the Indian market. In fact, its smartphones like the Moto G5s Plus and Moto G5 Plus are some of the best selling smartphones. However, the competition in the budget segment has increased since the launch of the likes of Honor 9 Lite and Redmi Note 5 Pro. Therefore, the Moto G6 and its siblings need to have their pricing spot on to compete in the Indian market.

  • Moto G6 Plus Design Leaked In Case Renders

Moto G6 Plus Design Leaked In Case Renders

The rumours surrounding the Moto G6 Plus have picked up some pace. While many believe that Motorola will launch the ‘G’ series at MWC 2018, it seems unlikely right now. The design of the Moto G6 Plus was leaked a few weeks ago and new images of the possible case of the Moto G6 Plus have been leaked now.

As expected, Motorola might move on to the new standard of 18:9 aspect ratios. However, one interesting decision is related to the fingerprint sensor placement. While devices like the Honor 7X moved the fingerprint sensor to the back, the Moto G6 Plus might house the sensor in the thin bottom bezel. The Moto G6 Plus will have a dual-camera setup like the G5s Plus. However. the implementation is expected to be different.

Interestingly, Motorola has also replaced the “Moto” branding with “Motorola”. The branding is placed just above the fingerprint sensor in the bottom bezel.

    Moto G6 Plus Specifications

The Moto G6 Plus will have a 5.93-inch 2160 x 1080p IPS LCD display with 2.5D curved tempered glass protection. Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 Octa-core chipset with up to 6GB RAM and 64GB storage.

In terms of cameras, the phone might have a 12 MP and 5 MP camera setup on the back. The setup is expected to be different from what we have seen so far from Moto devices. The 5MP sensor will be used to capture depth effect shots. The front-facing camera is expected to sport a 16MP sensor with a front-facing LED flash.

The smartphone will run on close to stock Android 8 Oreo OS. However, the Moto G6 Play which was spotted earlier had a ZUK UI on top of Android 8.0. So, it is very early to make any kind of assumption on the type of Android the smartphone might come with. However, it seems unlikely that Motorola will move to a custom skin considering the success it has had with stock OS.

A leak suggests that the upcoming Moto G6 Plus might come in five colour option. These colour options include Deep Indigo, Nimbus, Dark Lake, Gold, and Silver. The company might launch this device including Moto G6 Play and Moto G6 at MWC 2018.

    Design:

The Moto G6 Plus looks very modern. In fact, the design is in-line with the smartphones like Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Honor 7x thanks to its 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone will offer an all-glass design with an aluminium frame similar to the Moto X4. In fact, these could be the thinnest bezels that we have seen on a moto smartphone.

    Conclusion:

Motorola has been consistently launching great devices in India. However, companies like Honor and Xiaomi have also launched a few good smartphones since the Moto G5s Plus was launched. However, Motorola will have to make sure its devices are power-packed and have a competitive price tag in India.
