Huawei’s Upcoming Nexus Might Come With a 5.7-inch Display

We bring you more rumours about the Huawei Nexus 6 (codename: Angler) just as it gets ready to launch alongside the LG Nexus 5X on the 29th of September 2015. New reports suggest that details about the Huawei Angler were spotted on a site called GFXBench.

Here is a picture of the leaked table :

    Huawei-Nexus-6-(2015)-on-GFXBench

According to this leaked image of the specifications the new handset could sport a 5.7 inch display with Quad HD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. The Angler is also expected to come with a Snapdragon 810, 3GB of RAM and up to 24GB of storage. Apart from all this it is also expected to run on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow and could come with a 12MP rear camera with 2160p video. The selfie camera is expected to be at 8MP.

These specs honestly seem quite moderate. It’s not something Samsung or any other mainstream vendor cannot offer. The only way we can judge this smartphone is after the price is announced. Pre-orders are expected to begin two weeks after the unveiling. But, till then that’s all we’ve got.

  • HTC One A9 Expected to Come with Android Marshmallow Out of the Box

HTC One A9 Expected to Come with Android Marshmallow Out of the Box

Some new information on the planned HTC One A9 (Hima Aero) release has emerged. According to latest leaks by @evleaks, the mid-range smartphone is set to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset.

We had earlier mentioned about rumors about HTC’s ‘dual-flagship’ launch on the 29th of September, and had revealed rumored specs on both the HTC One A9 and the HTC Butterfly 3. New rumors on the HTC One A9 specs, however, seem to suggest that the smartphone will most likely battle the OnePlus 2 and Zenfone 2 rather than Samsung and Apple.

Earlier in the month some big specs were floating about suggesting that the HTC One A9 will feature a 5.5-inch QuadHD display, MediaTek Helio 10-core X20 processor, and 4GB of RAM. While some remain true as of today, new rumors suggest that the smartphone will now have a 5-inch FHD AMOLED display, and 2GB of RAM instead.

Other features leaked by Blass include 16GB of expandable storage, 13-megapixel camera (4 UltraPixel front), 2150mAh battery, a fingerprint sensor, and a metal design. It is also revealed by @LlabTooFer that the phone will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with custom UI Sense v7.0 out-of-the-box.

With the launch rumored to be pushed to November, we’ll have to wait and see if HTC can bounce back with its mid-range smartphone. Follow this space for more on the HTC event.

  • Huawei Nexus Passes GeekBench With Snapdragon 810 and 3 GB RAM

Huawei Nexus Passes GeekBench With Snapdragon 810 and 3 GB RAM

In an earlier post we had mentioned that Google is planning to launch two new Nexus phones on the 29th of September – LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus. New leaks have been found ahead of the Google event that reveal a few key specs of the Huawei Nexus. The phone codenamed ‘Huawei Angler’ was found to have passed through the GeekBench benchmark software.

As the image shows, the Huawei Nexus will sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, with 3 GB of RAM, and will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The new OS will debut along with the Nexus smartphones on the 29th.

Other rumours that have surfaced on the Huawei Nexus in the past suggest that the phone will either have a 5.5 or 5.7 inch screen, with either 1080p or QHD display. The phone is also rumoured to have a USB Type-C port and a fingerprint scanner. We’ll have to wait for the 29th to see how many of these rumors are true. Follow this space for more on the Google event.

Spec Battle: Moto X Play vs OnePlus 2

Motorola launched the Moto X Play in India today. The smartphone packs in a lot for a starting price of Rs 18,499 for the 16 GB variant.

The Moto X Play boasts of features that are sure to excite the masses. With a 21 MP camera, 3630 mAh battery, and expandable memory up to 128 GB, the Moto X Play is definitely worth its price. Other features include a 5.5 inch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, Snapdragon 615, and an Octa-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU.

When comparing it to the OnePlus 2 that was released last month, we found that the Moto X Play has a lot more going for it. Take a look at the specs yourself.

As we can see above, the Moto X Play offers a lot more for a lot less. In the camera and battery department, the Moto X Play has the OnePlus 2 beat, at least on paper. Added to this is the the Moto X Play’s microSD card that allows up to 128 GB more memory, whereas the OnePlus 2 does not. The OnePlus 2 received some flak for its non-removable battery, non-expandable storage, and a regular full-HD display. However, the OnePlus 2 comes with a Snapdragon 810 processor which is far superior than the 615 in Moto X Play. While the former delivers on performance, the latter promises experience.

    OnePlus 2 20

Both handsets are designed for comfort and offer similar resolution. However, with the Moto X Play starting at a fairly low price of Rs 18,499, and offering a variety of changeable colored back covers, the appeal is greater. Which smartphone would you choose? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Hands on Moto X Play

    Hands on Moto X Play

With Motorola’s launch of the newest gen Moto X Play edition in India, the company is showing that it is keeping India’s price conscious consumer in mind. Motorola has stabbed competition from the Chinese region, with this one.

The new Moto X Play has been launched in India starting at Rs.18499 for the 16 GB variant and Rs.19999 for the 32 GB variant.

Build Quality is top notch on the new Motorola devices, with the new X built on a metal chassis and on the outside a metal rim. The front has a Gorilla Glass 3 protected display which also counters down on either side of the phone, which feels great to use and avoids the pointy edges of the metal rim from hurting your fingers. The Moto X play is ip52 rated water resistant and can easily resist splashes or basic water damage.  The back panes are replaceable too, Motorola calls them “shells”, these can be bought and swapped out to give a different look or material finish to the handset. Available in wood and leather as well, it allows the user to buy the phone at a lower price than add a cover to improve the finish and aesthetics, later on.

    Moto X Play 7

On the inside, is a new set of hardware, while the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core chipset has been seen on a variety of handsets, it seems like a good fit for the Moto X. Supporting it is 2 GB of RAM and 16 / 32 GB storage options along with expandability via micro SD.

    Moto X Play 3

Interestingly the 21 MP snapper is quick and snappy, but does not support 4k video, as the chipset may not manage to moderate the heat generated during capture. 1080p video is the maximum you will get and that too only at 30fps.

    Moto X Play 2

The new Moto X comes with a massive 3630 mAh battery and a turbo power charger , allowing for a quick charge and giving you multiple hours of usage in just minutes of charging. Motorola seems to have found the right mix of hardware and pricing. For India’s low price market, One Plus and Xiaomi need to rethink their strategy, as Motorola’s aggressive pricing for the Moto X play while cost them some major sales.

  • Motorola Releases the Moto X Play in India

Motorola Releases the Moto X Play in India

The mid-range Moto X Play has finally arrived in India. Like other Motorola smartphones before, the X Play will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting at Rs 18,499. The Moto range for 2015 includes two variants, the Moto X Play and the Moto X Style which is scheduled to come out later this month.

    MotXPlay-Lite-PDP-Editorial-Card-2-Retina-Desktopnba7jza1gv6h1jvamrwmv25o

While the X Style will focus on design, the X Play is built for experience. The Moto X Play will have a 21-megapixel primary camera with dual-LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front camera. The rear camera will have an auto-HDR mode, which means the camera will automatically adapt to the conditions so you won’t have to spend time adjusting the settings manually. The phone will come with a standard HD quality video with 1080p at 30fps.

What the Moto X Play boasts of is its 3630 mAh battery, which will give you plenty of juice between charges. Both the Moto X Play and the X Style will have a microSD slot expandable up to 128 GB. This is welcomed as many smartphones today refuse to come with an SD slot. Other features include a 5.5 inch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, Snapdragon 615, and an Octa-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU.

In terms of value for money, we think the Moto X Play packs in a lot. The camera and battery life are its main attraction and is a good choice for those who like to play a lot of games on the go and still expect to have enough battery life for the rest of the day.

    moto-x-3

The design of the X Play is pretty solid with a textured back that has a rubbery finish, which feels comfortable in your hand. The back panel can be swapped for a different coloured one depending on your mood that day. The feisty phone will be available on Flipkart from midnight onwards so the wait isn’t long either.

Watch out for the Moto X Play hands on video and more information about it, today.

Rumour: Motorola’s Droid Turbo 2 To Launch Next Month

Twitter is always afloat with rumours about the upcoming gadgets, so obviously one of the many profiles had revealed that the Moto X Force would be launched in the Unites States as the Droid Turbo 2. This phone will apparently go on sale exclusively on Verizon.

    https://twitter.com/upleaks/status/641986567108628480

However, new leaks from @upleaks has now provided us with a launch date for the above mentioned device too. The Droid Turbo 2 is expected to be launched sometime in October while the international variant, called the Moto X Force will be launched in December. The International launch is only for China and Europe, as of now.

So, mark this date on your calender if you’re a Moto X fan, till then, here are a couple of other details we know about the upcoming handset- it could come with a 5.43 inch QHD display, Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3GB RAM, 32/54GB storage, 21MP rear camera and 5MP front camera, and finally it is expected to be fuelled by a 3,760mAh battery.

  • Qualcomm Creates a New Chipset For Drones

Qualcomm Creates a New Chipset For Drones

Firstly, what is a drone? According to the definition given by techtarget.com –  “A drone, in a technological context, is an unmanned aircraft. Drones are more formally known as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). Essentially, a drone is a flying robot. The aircraft may be remotely controlled or can fly autonomously through software-controlled flight plans in their embedded systems working in conjunction with GPS.  UAVs have most often been associated with the military but they are also used for search and rescue, surveillance, traffic monitoring, weather monitoring and firefighting, among other things.”

    drone 1

Drones have been in the news for various reasons – both controversial and non controversial, and even though they haven’t been legalised yet, a lot of software companies are looking to invest in the evolution of the drone. One of these companies, is Qualcomm, which is a ‘chipmaker’ company who has made the famous Snapdragon chipset for the Android smartphones. They have now reportedly created a new series of chipsets specifically for the drones, and are being called – the Snapdragon Flight.

Drones have had quite an evolution when we speak of its structure and size; and Qualcomm claims to be here, to enhance the drone design since it has already covered the big task of integrating a CPU with GPS, wireless connectivity, image processing etc. on smartphones. So, what exactly is Snapdragon Flight? Well, the company says that they’re basically repurposing the same Snapdragon 800 system-on-a-chip (SoC) processors for drones. Here’s what Qualcomm says:

“We’ve integrated so many things in one chipset, it reduces the weight of the drone significantly. Which means you can reduce the size of the motors, fans and battery. And it flies higher and longer.”

So, now here we have the first signs of smartphones and drones collaborating. Today, there’s a smartphone software in a drone, tomorrow there’ll be a drone software in the smartphone and then what, you ask? Armageddon.

  • Meizu to Unveil Flagship Phone ‘NIUX’

Meizu to Unveil Flagship Phone ‘NIUX’

Meizu, China-based consumer electronics company, will have an official launch for its flagship rumored to be call ‘NIUX’, on the 23rd of September. Teasers of the event with the words ‘Meizu Go Pro’ have been circulating, suggesting that the company is set to unveil the Meizu MX5 Pro. However, the wordings are false as they are going to launch the ‘NIUX’ instead.

VP of Meizu, Li Nan, stated that the Meizu MX5 Pro has been scrapped. In fact, they plan on scrapping the entire ‘MX Pro’ line altogether. Instead, the company will focus on a new line of premium devices, the first of which will be the ‘NIUX’. Li Nan decided to ‘leak’ official images of the NIUX rather than waiting for unofficial leaks.

The phone is rumored to come with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 1080p (1920 x 1080) resolution along with 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage. The phone will be powered by the Exynos 7420 SoC, which Mr. Bai, President of Miezu, calls the best CPU available. • 5 Features the iPhone 6s Should Have Had

5 Features the iPhone 6s Should Have Had

Now that Apple has revealed its latest flagships, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, it is time to talk about whether Apple delivered the goods customers have been waiting for or not. While some have raved over the upgraded camera features and Force Touch functionality, others were disappointed with some of the announcements, or the lack thereof.

We’ll look at some of the features and upgrades the iPhone 6s should have had:

    Minimum 32 GB Storage

Knowing before hand that Apple was going to upgrade its camera to 12 megapixels, loyalists around the world also hoped that the iPhone would stop the 16 GB variant (which really helped no one) and have the 32 GB as its new minimum. With the new 12 megapixel camera and the ability to shoot 4K video, and a new feature that takes live photos, having a storage as limited as 16 GB makes little or no sense and a 32 GB variant would have been hugely welcomed. Alas, the iPhone 6s will only come in 16 GB/ 64 GB/ 128 GB variants. So those seeking a larger storage will need to burn their pockets.

    iphone-6-11-100413699-large

    Longer Battery Life

One of the most important concerns for every smartphone user today is the battery life and this proved to be a huge disappointment on Apple’s part. At the launch, audiences did not receive any information on the new iPhone’s battery capacity. However, stills from the Apple promo video show that the iPhone 6s will have a 1715 mAh capacity, which is smaller than the 1810 mAh of the iPhone 6. Given all the new and upgraded features, one expects the phone to have enough juice to allow users to make full use of the various applications. Apple should have delivered on that.

    screen-shot-2015-09-09-at-8-35-35-pm

    User Friendly Design

The new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus look visually identical to the current iPhones, but made from a custom 7000 series aluminum. This will solve the ‘bendgate’ issue that plagued the iPhone 6. However, with a new, smooth aluminum body, users are likely to find it harder to hold as it is lacking proper grip. Users will have to buy a separate cover, which would not have been needed if the makers had toyed with the design a little.

    iPhone 6s 6

    Improved Resolution

The iPhone 6s has the same 750 x 1334 resolution as the current iPhone 6. Apart from the added 3D Touch, the new iPhones do not offer a better display, which is puzzling when combined with the fact that they have upgraded their camera. Again, Apple should have offered a higher resolution seeing that its rival Samsung has raced ahead in that area already, offering a 1440 x 2560 resolution for its Galaxy S6.

    iphone_6s_iphone_6s_plus_ap_01

    Better Performance

Apple announced that the iPhone 6s Series will come with the latest A9X 3rd Generation 64-bit chipset. According to Apple, the A9 chipset is 70% faster at CPU tasks and 90% more graphic power than the A8. However, the core- count and speed were factors that weren’t discussed which is what decides the performance of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

  • Amazon Kills off the Fire Phone

Amazon Kills off the Fire Phone

While the world was glued to the launch of Apple’s new smartphones, Amazon quietly killed off its own. The Fire Phone was released last year and has since then fared poorly in the market. The phone was the first and only smartphone launched by Amazon, and the company has no plans on bringing it back.

According to the Amazon website, the phone is currently unavailable and “we don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock”. An Amazon spokesperson told Fortune that  “we sold through our inventory of the Fire phone in the U.S. and globally, and we do not plan to replenish stock at this time,”

    maxresdefault

The plan to discontinue the device comes as no surprise as the phone failed to make a dent in the already crowded smartphone market. One of the main reasons for its failure was designing the phone in a way as to only suit Amazon’s own services, with limited apps and more focus on Amazon shopping.

However, the company will continue to provide support and service for existing Fire Phone users. It seems Amazon’s next move is to focus on the $50 tablet that they plan to launch later this year.

  • Top 4 Phones You Can Buy Instead of the iPhone 6s

Top 4 Phones You Can Buy Instead of the iPhone 6s

While we’re all talking about the iPhone 6s, let’s also speak about it’s practicality today. Is it still a phone worth buying and burning a hole through our pockets when we have other smartphones such as the OnePlus 2, the S6 Edge +, the Moto X Play and the Nexus 5 – all of which feature similar specifications as the iPhone 6s and yet come at an easier price.

Briefly put, the iPhone 6s comes with a 4.7 inch display with 1334 X 750-pixel resolution at 326 ppi resolution. It comes with the force touch technology and an A9 processor. It has an upgraded 12MP camera and an optical image stabilization technology. It has storage options of up to 128GB and a relatively normal battery life that haven’t been specified yet.The physical dimensions of the iPhone are pretty slick and slim. It is afterall the ‘cool’ smartphone. It has an aluminum build and overall looks like a ‘million bucks’, and guess what else? It also costs a ‘million bucks’ (the phrase not the actual amount). Now let us have a look at a couple of other phones which have similar features and specifications. The best part about these ‘other’ smartphones is that you don’t have to take a bank loan to buy it.

    The OnePlus 2

Mind blowing Chinese smartphone, which is even exclusive (just in case you care about that kind of stuff). It offers a 5.5 inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution, and is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It weighs 175 g and measures 151.8 x 74.9 x 9.9 mm. It runs on the Android OS, v5.1 (Lollipop), has a Quad-core 1.56 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 1.82 GHz Cortex-A57 CPU and an Adreno 430 GPU. It has two storage variants – 16 GB with 3 GB RAM and 64 GB with 4 GB RAM and is powered by the Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810. It has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, which is more than the iPhone 6s’s 12MP rear camera and to end this description – it also comes with a 3300 mAh battery.

Now apart from the fact that it doesn’t have Apple’s super fluid OS, this phone is pretty awesome, and it comes at Rs.Rs 22,999/ 24,999 for the two different variants respectively.

    OnePlus 2 16

    The Moto X Play

The Moto X Play is expected to launch in India on the 14th of September promises to offer a 5.5 inch FullHD display, a Snapdragon 615 chipset and 2GB of RAM. Along with this it is fueled by a 3,650mAh battery pack which is allegedly good for 48 hours of mixed use and fast-charging. This smartphone is expected to be priced at around Rs.19,892. Oh and this phone has a 21-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash. Yeah. That’s right – 21MP not 12MP. One last thing about the storage, it comes in two variants – 16GB /32GB internal memory, expandable memory up to 128GB with microSD. There you go – 128GB memory, 21MP camera, better battery all at a speculated price of Rs.19,892. Even if this price goes up, it still won’t be anywhere close to Rs.60,000.

    http://img5a.flixcart.com/www/promos/new/20150905-130345-1.jpg

    Samsung Galaxy S6

Yes, it is necessary for a Samsung phone to be in this list, because like it or not, they are catching up to the iPhone. So this particular handset comes with a 5.1-inch super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution and 577 ppi pixel density. Runs on the Android v5.0.2 Lollipop operating system with a 2550mAH lithium-ion battery. It also has a 16MP primary camera with optical image stabilization, auto focus, LED flash and 5MP front facing camera and comes with a storage capacity of 32/64/128 GB with 3 GB RAM. There you go, almost all of the iPhone 6s specifications at a price of Rs.37,390 on Amazon.

    Galaxy S6 Edge + plus iGyaan 23

Nexus 5: This upcoming phone is expected to have a 5.2 inch HD P-OLED display and a 64GB internal storage with 4GB of RAM. The rear camera is expected to come with 13MP rear camera, f/1.8 aperture, laser autofocus, optical image stabilization, and dual-tone LED flash along with a 4MP front selfie camera with Iris detection. It might also have a 3,180mAh with wireless charging capabilities and is speculated to be priced at Rs. 25,600.

Now, honestly if you go to see, today the iPhone is not an unfathomable or game changing phone. Any Chinese vendor today can create something similar, even the Force Touch technology which seems to be missing in all the above phones. But honestly, who needs force touch? Most Android users actually have a happy life without it. It’s a strange and unimaginable thought for the iOS user but it’s true. Life goes on without having a crazy camera, or an exclusive phone that could potentially cost you more than mortgage payment does today.

We’d love to hear what you think in the comments below.

Here’s What’s New on the Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus

Apple like clockwork at an event today launched their revisions to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Named appropriately, and in Apple’s yearly naming system, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Apple claims that they have changed everything inside the iPhones. But what all has really changed?

    iPhone 6s 7

    Build and Design

The new iPhones will come in an all new rose gold colour to match with the new Apple Watch colour. Design wise they look the same, with the same identical button layout. The new iPhones, however, are thicker; with the new iPhone 6s now at 7.1 mm up from the 6.9mm of last year and the iPhone 6s Plus up to 7.3mm from 7.1mm on the iPhone 6 Plus.

Weight wise the iPhones are heftier with iPhone 6s up to 143 grams vs last years 129 grams on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s Plus now at 192 grams vs 172 grams on the iPhone 6 Plus.

A lot has also changed in the construction of these iDevices. New Apple made series 7000 Aluminium along with extra reinforcement ensures that “bendgate” doesn’t happen this year.

There is also an all new glass layer that Apple claims is tougher than any glass on the market, pointing at Gorilla Glass 4.

    Hardware

    a iPhone 6s 3

The new iPhones come with a 64 Bit A9 chip with a new M9 co-processor that improves performance and graphic capabilities vs iPhone 6 and 6 Plus that came with A8 chip with M8 Co-processor. The M9 co-processor is now always ‘on’, detecting your movement, vs the M8 which was activated on movement.

    a iPhone 6s 2

The displays remain the same with the same size and same resolution, however the addition of 3D touch will improve user experience considerably.

    Camera

    iPhone 6s 4

New camera’s will include a 12 MP main camera on both iPhones. Again, like last year only the iPhone 6s Plus gets optical image stabalization. Both iPhones with the newer camera now have the capability of shooting 4k Video and a new “Live Photos” feature that allows you to capture photo moments.

    iPhone 6s 6

Slo-mo video support for 1080p at 120 fps and 720p at 240 fps, and video stabalization only works up till 1080p video.

The front camera on the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus also gets a much needed bump to 5 MP from a paltry 1.2 MP last year, along with an interesting new selfie flash feature which will make the display turn into a true tone flash with 3 times the brightness.

    Apple iPhone front flash

The new iPhones will also support more LTE bands vs last year. Unlocked iPhones will support 23 LTE bands including TD and FD-LTE. The new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will include VoLTE (Voice over LTE) for better communication capabilities in areas supporting the VoLTE functions.

    Software

Apart from running iOS 9, thanks to the addition of the new hardware the software will work slightly differently. The new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus feature a new 3D Touch display powered by a Taptic engine. A physical piece of hardware which monitors the input and pressure of a users finger and allows the operating system to respond accordingly.

    a iPhone 6s 0

This will save up time allowing you to decide what part of the app you need to access prior to launching the app. Just like a secondary click it allows for more interaction in gaming and in productivity apps as demonstrated by Apple at their event.

The new photos app will allow for live photos that are captured by the iPhone, vs static photos seen up until now. The images will capture a few seconds of cache video allowing you to replay the moment as it occurred. HTC introduced a similar feature on the original HTC One M7 a few years back , however it required you to be in a specific mode with specific features turned on prior to capture. Apple includes this as standard for each photograph, without compromising on speed of capturing a picture.

    iPhone 6s 8

Thanks to the new hardware you can now call up Siri using “Hey Siri” even when the iPhone is not connected to the charger.

The new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus cost the same as last year on contract in the US. However their unlocked phone pricing is the same as well.

iPhone 6s Vs iPhone 6s Plus: What is the Real Difference?

Now that you’ve had a good look at the iPhone 6s, we’re going to move forward to the expected and anticipated iPhone 6s Plus. As Apple tradition goes, the respected iPhone is always released with an upgraded ‘S’ option.

    iPhone 6s 7

We have also seen much of a difference between the previous year’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. For example, the iPhone 6 came with a 4.7-inch display while the 6 Plus came with a 5.5-inch one. Apart from this, the 6 Plus also came with a higher resolution and  pixel density, a longer battery life and most importantly the camera that came with the optical image stabilizing technology.

What’s the big difference between the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus?

The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus had come out with a mind blowing storage capacity of up to 128GB for the high-end models of its two new handsets. Is the iPhone 6s Plus any different? No it isn’t. It comes with the same storage options. But we already told you that before.

  • The iPhone 6s Finally Makes Its Tech Carpet Entry

The iPhone 6s Finally Makes Its Tech Carpet Entry

The moment has arrived, when Apple finally reveals its iPhone 6s smartphone. We have been covering all sorts of rumours and reports about this handset the moment we got wind of it. Price, display, specifications and software – we’ve heard it all, and now is that moment of truth where we find out what this hype is all about and most importantly, whether it’s been worth it. Their opening statement is this:

“The only thing that’s changed is everything.”

Let’s start with the most obvious – the price. Earlier reports suggested that the iPhone 6s would arrive at around 699 euros which is Rs.52,084 approximately, for the 16GB version, 799 euros which is Rs.59,529 approximately, for the 64GB version and 899 euros which is Rs.66,980 approximately for the 128GB version. Here are the final numbers: the 16GB version is priced at $199, the 64GB version is $299 and the 128GB version is $399.

    x iPhone 6s 3

Few exciting things we now know about the new iPhone is that they will feature animated wallpapers and that the Rose Gold colour variant we were anticipating is here! Now it’s up to you if you think rose gold is fashionable enough for you, because the ‘cool’ new iPhone definitely thinks it is.

It comes with a brand new glass encasing this time, with the Ion-X and not the usual Sapphire Glass, and a new Taptic Engine which can be used to navigate the UI.

    iPhone 6s 15

So, it was said that the new iPhone will have an updated 3D Force Touch technology – meaning that the sensors would be taking into account three different types of touch rather than two. This is also true. Apple has confirmed the 3D Force Touch feature, that makes  photos, emails, Messages, etc pop up on your display. You just need to press on an app to jump right into a feature. This feature also allows you to use apps and be active on them without even opening them.

They’ve also mentioned that the phone will be running on the new iOS 9 and the smartphone will come integrated with the new A9 chip.

    iPhone 6s 12

Let’s talk about something that the iPhone is most applauded for – its camera. The iPhone 6 Plus has had an 8MP camera with an optical image stabilization feature that made it the phone with game changing photography abilities. Well, the iPhone 6s is better than that – it has an all new iSight 12MP camera with deep trench isolation. That’s it. iPhone just won. The 12MP camera will now allow you to record videos in 4K resolution.

    iPhone 6s 5

That was the rear camera, but the iPhone’s front camera, which is as big a star as the primary camera, now comes at 5 megapixels and full HD resolution, allowing better FaceTime and selfie opportunities to users. The front camera also comes with a true tone Retina Flash feature. The 3D Touch feature also extends itself into the still camera pictures by animating the photos into video, called Live Photos, which can also have sound.

“These are regular photos — we extend the capture moment just before and after.”

Speaking about connectivity the iPhone 6s comes with 2X faster WiFi and 23 LTE bands. They’ve also mentioned that the new iCloud storage pricing will be as follows: 50gb for 99 cents a months, 200GB for 2.99/mot 1TB for 9.99/mo.

    iPhone 6s 20

Now in the midst of all this they’ve also announced a small little ‘neighborly app’ that allows Android users to switch to the iPhone’s iOS.

“You can recycle your Android phone for free at any Apple Store,” says the app.

To conclude, we can accumulate all the major features and say that the iPhone 6s comes with the 3D Force Touch technology, is made with a 7000 series aluminum body and a new cover glass, a 64 bit A9 chip with M9, a second gen touch ID, has an advanced LTE and faster Wi-Fi, 12MP iSight camera with 4K Video, 5MP FaceTime HD resolution with retina flash and Live Photos. Phew.

    x iPhone 6s 2
