  • iPhone XR Is Apple’s Best Selling Model According To Apple

iPhone XR Is Apple’s Best Selling Model According To Apple

Apple has debunked rumours that their cheapest iPhone model is not selling well. In a slew of recent reports, many news websites had claimed that Apple is reducing production of the iPhone XR. The reason given was because it is not meeting the estimated sales expectations from the company. But in a recent report,  an Apple executive was quoted to have said that the iPhone XR is their best selling phone yet.

    What Led To This Belief?

Apple’s announcement that they will not be disclosing their unit sales data to their investors also added to the rumours. Even though the company is not providing their exact sales figures, they do occasionally disclose which of their models is selling better than the others. A recent report also suggested that Apple had reduced orders of the XR. This was believed to be because the demand was not matching the supply. Apple’s decision to bring back the iPhone X in Japan was also part of the reason for the media to feel that this was a pushback from the low iPhone XR sales.

According to Apple, the iPhone XR, iPhone 8 and iPhone 7 are selling quite well. Being a cheaper version of their higher end model, the iPhone XR was created for consumers who wished to jump in the Apple bandwagon but did not wish to spend as much as the iPhone XS.

The iPhone XR is not ‘cheap’ per se if we compare it to the relatively less pricey Android phones. But it is the company’s cheapest current generation iPhone. With OnePlus entering the iPhone dominated US market, it will be interesting to see how both companies fight it out to stay ahead in the game. The iPhone XR is also available in more colours than it’s bigger siblings. It is only second to the iPhone 5C which saw it’s release back in 2013.

Possible Huawei Nova 4 With A Camera Cut-Out Spotted

The concept was introduced by Samsung a few weeks back when they introduced their Galaxy A6s and Galaxy A9s smartphones. They call it the Infinity-O display, owing to the O shaped camera cut-out in the display of the phone. The Samsung Galaxy A8s was supposed to be the first smartphone with this technology. But yesterday, Huawei announced their own device which will feature the camera cut-out. According to sources, the phone is the Huawei Nova 4 and is set for a December launch, before the Samsung A8s.

    The Nova 4

Most recently, the phone has been spotted out in the wild, in a subway carriage in China. The user is obviously testing the phone and while the big chunky case does hide the device pretty well, it cannot possibly overshadow the unique camera cut-out. The camera cut-out is positioned on the top left corner of the smartphone and really stands out. The notifications and other relevant information are applied to the right.

Another interesting aspect of the image is the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack. This is quite a luxury these days. The fact that Huawei is including this with this phone is a welcome step. The teaser has set the launch of the device for the 12th of December. We will get to know about the features of the device, closer to the launch date.

The camera cut-out is the next step towards a truly bezel-less display. Without the use of a sliding camera or a pop-out camera. It is the notch-less solution for a display. Until some manufacture figures out how to operate in-display cameras. However, the in-display camera could be seen soon in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10, as Samsung has already patented this technology. With all these phones going to be launched, the future of smartphone displays sure looks exciting.

  • Top Room Heaters To Power You Through The Winter

Top Room Heaters To Power You Through The Winter

Winter is coming! And it is time to get your jackets out. But some cities in India are just too cold for jackets, hoodies and scarves to save you when you go to sleep. We list the best room heaters that will help you sleep well at night in the peace and comfort of your heated room.

    Eveready  Room Heater

This heater is a little pricey but is a lifesaver. It features dual side air inlet vents for maximum air intake with dual heat settings. It also has an adjustable height which can be great if you wish to place it on a desk or on your bedside table according to your needs. The heating indicator is also quite handy. The fan is a little noisy but if you are a heavy sleeper then that should not be an issue.  The power consumption is also on the higher end at 2000 watts.

    Usha Quartz Room Heater

This is a relatively inexpensive heater which is ideal for a small room only. It works well with a room size up to 120 sq. ft. It features a safety tip-over switch, which cuts off the heater in case it tilts or falls which is a great feature to have. The powder coated finish to prevent corrosion is also great for cities where the device will not be used during long summers. Designed for low power consumption, the heater features two heating positions to suit your comfort. The power consumption is 400 and 800 watts and operates at 230 volts.

    Orpat Fan Heater

This is another room heater that is ideal for a small and medium room only and works in rooms upto 250 sq. ft, when operated at 2000 watt heat setting. This heater also makes some noise due to the fan. It works with a 15A plug. Make sure you don’t plug it in the standard 5A or 6A socket.  But there is a way around it. You can use a 3 pin plug or extension cord to act as a 5A-15A convertor. However the heater cannot be used for a long time with the extension cord.  The heater also features a safety cut-off and thermal cut-off for added safety. It has two heat settings of 1000 watts and 2000 watts. Given it’s price, it is a great value for money if you have a small room.

    Singer Fan Heater

This 2000 Watt heater is great for its price as well. This is also a fan type heater that blows hot air out. It is small, lightweight, portable and has a plastic body that does not heat up in itself, thus preventing burns. The heater has two heating positions, a thermostate and thermal cut-out and can be positioned both vertically and horizontally. It also has an easy to carry handle for greater portability.

    Bajaj Room Heater

This heater has two heat settings of 400 watts and 800 watts and can also be great for a small room. It is relatively noiseless and has dual safety with safety tip over switch and thermal fuse. It is also BIS approved which is a good sign for any buyer!  The heater comes with a 2 year warranty on product as well.

This partnership is in line with OnePlus’ motto of ‘Unlock The Speed’ for their OnePlus 6T phones. This further cements the idea that the company will be bringing in a new edition with cosmetic changes from McLaren. Some are also speculating higher RAM and better performances from the McLaren version but it is too early to tell. McLaren is known to launch new cars with orange liveries. Vivo Nex 2 With Dual Screens Spotted Online

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo launched the Nex S earlier this year with an edge-to-edge display and a fingerprint sensor. Furthermore, it was the first smartphone to have an electronically operated pop out front-facing camera. The combination of all these breakthrough technologies allowed the smartphone to turn a lot of heads. A recent leak suggests that Vivo is readying its successor called the Nex 2 with an even more intriguing feature. The upcoming smartphone will allegedly have dual displays. Another Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Nubia launched a similar smartphone with dual displays. The Nubia smartphone is called the Nubia X.

    Dual-Display

Two images of the alleged Vivo Nex 2 were spotted online with two screens, one on the front and one on the rear. The first image reveals that the upcoming smartphone has very thin bezels on all four sides. Furthermore, like its predecessor, it also has no cutouts for the front-facing selfie camera. The rear of the device has an additional, smaller screen, dual cameras along with an LED flash and a mysterious circular cutout for an unknown sensor. It is possible that the device skips on the front camera altogether. As the dual rear cameras can act as both the main rear camera and selfie camera.

Other essential technical details like processor and storage options are unavailable but it is expected to have better specifications than its predecessor.
