The iPhone 11 Series May Gain Support For The Apple Pencil

American technology giant Apple is expected to launch three new iPhones in the month of September this year. These smartphones will be the successor to the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XR from last year and are poised to feature notable improvements over their predecessors; like more battery, cameras and performance. Now, a fresh reports claim that the upcoming iPhone 11 may also gain support for the Apple Pencil, which is a stylus the company introduced back in the year 2015 with the first iPad Pro.

The aforementioned reports of the iPhone 11 supporting the Apple Pencil arrive from the renown analyst organization Citi Research. If turned out to be true, the upcoming device will be the first from Apple to support the Apple Pencil other than the iPads. While there are two generations of Apple Pencil currently available in the market, it is believed that the iPhone 11 may gain support for the first generation of the stylus. It is because of the different charging mechanism in the second generation. While the first Apple Pencil used a lightning port to replenish its battery, its successor charges by attaching itself to the sides of the iPad Pro. Also, only the new iPad Pros have had support for the second generation Pencil, so it would make sense for Apple to keep it that way for a while.

The report from Citi Research may sound enticing to users wanting stylus support in an iPhone for a while; but it should be taken with a grain of salt. As the organisation is usually known for its accurate financial predictions regarding Apple and not for its predictions of what iPhones will be like in the future, the report may turn out to be nothing but a rumor. Whatever may be the case, the very idea of the iPhone 11 supporting the Apple Pencil will expand the usability of the device. Since the launch is more than a month away, we also do not need to wait too long to confirm our suspicions.

  • Apple To Soon Launch A Paintbrush For iPad, Reveals Patent

Apple To Soon Launch A Paintbrush For iPad, Reveals Patent

Apple first launched the Apple Pencil in the year 2015 alongside the first generation iPad Pro. Doodling and drawing were the main implications of the Apple pencil. It communicated with the iPad using Bluetooth and featured a removable cap that concealed a Lightning connector. As per reports, the company is working on another peripheral which will have similar features to the Apple pencil but will be used for painting on the iPad instead of drawing.

    Apple “Paintbrush” Patent Details

The speculated “Apple Paintbrush” was patented recently by the company, and the patent represents the “paintbrush” as a “Stylus with multiple inputs”. As per the patent, the “electronic paintbrush” has multiple flexible contact points. Apple’s patent further stated that all the flexible contacts can flex independently of each other, and a feedback response is generated depending upon the change in bending/flexing of the contact members.

Even though the Apple Pencil is very versatile regarding its compatibility with the iPad, the company believes that the paintbrush-style-stylus can incorporate a huge change in the way artists paint on Apple’s iPads. The patent granted to the American multinational technology company states that despite a multitude of advancements in order to render the inputs and data from the Apple Pencil, the stylus has still a lot of hurdles to overcome when it comes to modern art. Introducing flexible multiple contact members to a traditional stylus can fix a majority of the aforementioned issues.

Such an electronic stylus may have a lot of possibilities in the hands of artists who regularly use iPads for creating content. Previously, the South Korean company, Samsung also published a patent which showcased a stylus with an inbuilt optical camera, indicating towards the advancements regarding styluses and similar peripherals. However, fans should take the news of the Apple Paintbrush with a grain of salt, as there is no official announcement regarding the launch of such an “electronic paintbrush”.

  • A New Patent Application Published For Using Apple Pencil With iPhone

A New Patent Application Published For Using Apple Pencil With iPhone

Apple Pencil support for iPhones have been highly anticipated ever since Tim Cook accidentally confirmed that its on it way. A new patent has been published which chronicles the technology behind using the pencil with a smartphone.

The touch sensing system may perform one or more coarse input device sub-scans to determine a coarse location of the input device.

The coarse location can be used to select one or more touch sensors (or sensor channels) to sample for decoding data encoded in the stimulation signals from the input device.

During one or more fine input device sub-scans, the touch sensing system can determine a fine location of the input device and decode the data from the input device sampled from the selected touch sensors (or sensor channels).

The sketches accompanying the patent resemble the iPhone even though the patent talks generically about ‘touchscreen devices’.

Some reports suggest that 2019 iPhones will even retail with a mini Apple Pencil although this seems far-fetched.

iPad Pro and New Apple Pencil to Launch in India in November

Following Samsung’s announcement of making its On series phones available in India next month, reports have confirmed 11th November as the date for Apple’s iPad Pro to come to the country. The device was launched in September, along with additional accessories and the new iPhones. Apple iPad Pro 3

Apple had mentioned a November launch for the iPad Pro and now various sources have confirmed the date as eleventh. The Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard -accessories for the new iPad – will also go on sale on the same day. Current pricing of the device in the US marks it at $799 (about Rs. 52,000) while the Pencil costs $99 (about Rs. 6400) and the Smart Keyboard costs $169 (about Rs. 11,000). After the poor response to iPhone 6s and 6s Plus in the country, let’s see how the iPad is received by buyers. Many users believe that there isn’t a specific purpose for the iPad because all work gets done on laptops and cellphones in India. There isn’t basically a need of an in-between device. iPad Pro thus is not much more than another shiny new toy for tech lovers and Apple enthusiasts, don’t you think?

  • Apple Pencil Wants to Take on Samsung’s S-Pen

Apple Pencil Wants to Take on Samsung’s S-Pen

What do you do when Apple announces an Apple pencil? You write about it. Then, because it’s so similar to Samsung’s S-Pen, you compare them.

Whether you’re sketching in the park, painting a watercolor portrait, or drafting a blueprint, Apple Pencil gives you a variety of tools in a single instrument. You hold it, but it doesn’t hold you back.

The new S-Pen most recently arrived with the Galaxy Note 5. It came as a stylus on the side of the smartphone and could be used on the Note 5 even when the display was off. Sounded fancy enough.

    LifeStyle 15

In comparison, the Apple Pencil came along with the 12.7 inch iPad Pro that was just announced at their 2015 event today. Now here’s the annoying bit about the Apple pencil – you have to buy it for $99, which is approximately Rs.5,000. It’s unfair, because they make an expensive iPad with this new stylus and then don’t even give you the full stylus in one set. It’s like buying an iPhone without the battery.

    iPad Pro Pencil Keyboard 8

Moving on, we see that the Apple Pencil is charged by directly plugging it into the iPad Pro while the S-Pen is independent. The problem with that is, that you already have a 12.7 inch iPad and if one has to charge the pencil, that too will be attached to the length of the iPad. So how does one fit it in their bag pack? Seems uncomfortable. That being said, it has a battery life of this novel Pencil is 10-12 hours and it gives you 30 minutes of usage with just 15 seconds of charge. That seems grudgingly, impressive.

The Apple pencil doesn’t really have a ‘wrong side’ either, so you can write using both side. Whereas, you can use the S-Pen only on the ‘right side’. Not just this, you can draw lines of varying thickness depending on how much pressure you apply and you can even shade if you tilt the pencil and use it at a slant.

Now all we’re waiting for is to get our hands on the Apple ‘Stylus’ (and the iPad Pro) to tell you if it really lives up to the hype.

The iPad Pro Doesn’t Come With a Pencil and Keyboard But You Can Buy it

The iPad Pro has finally been unveiled at the official Apple event in San Francisco. The new iPad Pro is accompanied by accessories like a “unique tip pen” as well as a keyboard. However, the two new additions are not part of the same box as the iPad. The keyboard and Apple Pencil will be made available for sale separately.

This is a little disappointing for loyalists who were rooting for these devices to be part of the same box as the iPad Pro. Despite this bit of a downer, the gadget has not failed to amaze potential buyers all over the world. While iPad Pro is priced at 1079$ (128GB), the keyboard is worth 169$ and the pencil costs 99$. The device and its accessories will be available, this November.
