Samsung Might Have Accidentally Leaked The Galaxy S10 Design, Launching 20th Feb

Samsung in a press release, may have leaked the design of their upcoming smartphone – the Samsung Galaxy S10. The press release was about Samsung’s new user interface called One UI that is at it’s beta phase at the moment. The One UI is a radically different designed UI compared to the older UI that Samsung used. One UI has enhanced features such as ease of one handed use, minimalistic design eliminating unnecessary distractions and a night mode.

    Galaxy S10

Coming back to the phone, Samsung will be releasing their flagship Galaxy S10 this year and the rumour mills suggest that it will have an under display camera at the front. If rumours are anything to go by, there will be two variations of the phone this year. A Lite version with a smaller screen and a bigger screen version. The bigger S10 will feature a pinhole for the camera instead of a notch.

The photo, which was taken down after a Reddit user pointed out the mistake, shows an in display camera at the top right which looks to be Samsung’s Infinity – O patent coming to life. The phone also had a very thin chin and looks almost all screen. The pictures also showed buttons on the side with the power button to the right and the volume rocker and Bixby button on the left. However, these are all assumptions at this point, the actual design shouldn’t be too far off we feel.

Keeping the photo aside, there are also rumours that the phone may feature an in- display fingerprint sensor. Other rumours for the flagship phones include Snapdragon 855 chipset, 8GB/12GB RAM and 12MP, 16MP and 13MP rear cameras. The launch date for the S10 has been announced by the company to be February 20th, 2019 which is just a few days before Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Display Sizes Of The Samsung Galaxy S10 And Note 10 Leak

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S10 series of smartphones in Q1 of 2019. The Galaxy S10 series include the S10 Lite, the S10, and the S10+. The upcoming devices are believed to have a radical design change in comparison to their predecessor. The design and renders of the Galaxy S10 smartphones have leaked out on several instances. Reportedly the smartphones will have a high-screen-to body ratio with a hole in the display for the front camera. A leak on Twitter reveals the screen size of all the upcoming S10 smartphones. Furthermore, the same user has shared pictures of the Galaxy S10’s screen guard which provides key details about the design of the handset.

    Twitter Leak

The tweet was posted by a Chinese leaker who goes by the username Ice universe. The leaker happens to be a trustworthy source as previous leaks from him have mostly turned out true. The tweet reveals that the different variants of the Samsung Galaxy S10 will have the following screen sizes:

    • Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite: 5.75 inch
    • Samsung Galaxy S10: 6.11 inches
    • Galaxy S10+: 6.44 inches
    • Galaxy S10 5G version: 6.66 inches

Additionally, the tweet reveals that the Note 10 will have a massive 6.75-inch display. The display on the upcoming Galaxy smartphones will most likely have an Infinity-O notch. The Infinity-O notch has a small hole for the camera in the display. The previously launched Galaxy A8s with Infinity-O notch suggests what to expect in terms of design from future Samsung smartphones.

    Screen Protector

The screen protector of the Samsung Galaxy S10+ supports the claim that the smartphone will have dual front cameras. The dual front cameras are laterally mounted on the right of the smartphone. Most notably, the camera holes on the Galaxy S10+ will be smaller than that of the Galaxy A8s.

Additionally, the leaked screen guard has a curve which tapers towards the sides. This indicates that the Galaxy S10+ will have a 2.5d glass front.

  • Samsung Galaxy S10: What To Expect

Samsung Galaxy S10: What To Expect

Earlier this week, a news website broke the news for Samsung’s latest flagship phone’s release dates, specifications, sizes as well as UK prices. Since then, there has been leak after leak and several renders have also shown up on the internet. Being the 10th anniversary Galaxy product, everyone expected the phone to look drastically different. Many also assumed that it would have a folding display. But according to leaks, the phone is slated for launch at a Samsung Unpacked event beforeMobile World Congress 2019. The event is scheduled for the 20th of February. The leaks came directly from a trusted source of the said news website and they have verified the source as well.

    Specifications

The leaks also suggest that the S10 will be available in three different versions. These include a regular version, a Plus version, and a flat version. The regular version and Plus version will feature curved displays while the flat version will have a non- curved or flat display. All the three phones will have the Infinity- O display. This design was patented by Samsung recently and features a camera cutout at the front of the screen. This gets rid of the notch that every other phone comes with these days.

This is also less obtrusive when it comes to media consumption such as videos or gaming. The phone will also feature an Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor, unlike the optical ones that we see on most phones, is said to read fingerprints using ultrasonic waves. It supposedly reads the ridges of the fingers in 3D. There will also be a three camera setup at the back with three different focal length lenses, namely standard, wide and tele.

The standard 6.1-inch screen will be available in two sizes. The 128GB will be priced at £799 and the 512GB storage variant will cost £999 in the UK. The Galaxy S10 Plus is going to boast of a lot of different variants with a lot of storage options. There  will be a 128GB version for £899 and a 512GB version at £1099. There also will be a one terabyte Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus for a whopping £1399. The S10+ will compete with the iPhone XS Max which has a price tag of £1,449 for their 512GB variant in the UK.

  • Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Renders Reveal Dual Front Cameras In Cutout

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Renders Reveal Dual Front Cameras In Cutout

Samsung is the world’s number one smartphone manufacturer, but the company has been losing its market share recently. This is due to the rise of companies like OnePlus, Huawei and Xioami. Before the inception of Chinese OEM’s, Samsung was the only company that single-handedly led the Android bandwagon against Apple’s iPhones.

In recent years, these new companies have become a nuisance for Samsung. As not only do these companies sell their devices at a much cheaper price than Samsung, they are also developing a lot of the latest in-house technologies. In contrast, Samsung is not only a smartphone manufacturer, but also the leading supplier of display technologies. The company is reported to have used a lot of its latest display technologies for its upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S10. And according to the latest leak, the Galaxy S10 Plus will have an oval cutout for the dual front cameras in the display.

    Galaxy S10 Plus Specifications

The renders of the upcoming Galaxy S10 Plus have been posted on Twitter by leakers Ben Geskin and OnLeaks. The leak suggests that the smartphone has a 6.44 inch Super AMOLED QHD+ display. Most noticeably, the display has edge-to-edge bezels which taper towards the side and an oval-shaped cutout which houses the dual front-facing cameras. Additionally, the smartphone also has triple rear cameras along with an LED flash. The top of the device is occupied by the sim tray and microphone hole while the bottom has the 3.5 mm jack, speaker grill, USB connector, and the primary microphone.

The bottom and top of the Galaxy S10 Plus also have antenna cutouts. The leak also claims that the smartphone has an in-display fingerprint sensor and the device also supports face unlock. The back of the device has a silver and blue colored gradient panel which looks really attractive.

  • Alleged Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Prototype Seen In Video

Alleged Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Prototype Seen In Video

Samsung’s upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S10 is one of the most awaited smartphones right now. Expected to be launched in the early part of 2019, the Galaxy S10 has already been a subject to numerous leaks. These include reports about four different Galaxy S10 models, including a 5G variant. Now, a video has surfaced, in which the alleged 5G Galaxy S10 has been showcased.

The video is from what seems to be a 5G testing station in South Korea. The device in focus is being used by an executive from SK Telecom. They are using it to launch their 5G service in South Korea. In the video, a person is making a video call to demonstrate the speeds that can be achieved by the network, while using 5G. The most interesting aspect of the video is however, the smartphone which is being used for this demonstration.

    The 5G S10

This unknown smartphone is obviously enclosed within a protective case to hide its design. However, there are two distinct factors which point toward the fact that it is a variant of the upcoming Galaxy S10. The first is the horizontal triple camera setup on the back, which is barely visible in the video and the 5G support.

The protective case of the phone is hiding what is probably the most important aspect of the phone, the display. The display is said to be truly bezel-less, without the use of a notch or a pop-up/sliding camera. Samsung has never implemented a notch on any of its smartphones. And this will be the next big upgrade in terms of design language from the company. The phone is also expected to feature a camera cut-out, like that of the upcoming Galaxy A8s. While there were reports of Samsung developing an in-display front facing camera to avoid using even the cut-out, this does not seem viable as of now. We might see that technology sometime in the future.Samsung Galaxy S10

    What’s More

A recent tweet by the famous leaker iceuniverse on Twitter has also mentioned that one of the variants of the Galaxy S10 might feature dual front cameras. This would give a really unique placement to the camera cut-out and it will be interesting to see how Samsung pulls this off.

  • Samsung Galaxy S10 To Have 12 GB Of RAM And 1 TB Storage

Samsung Galaxy S10 To Have 12 GB Of RAM And 1 TB Storage

It seems like Samsung is going all out with its upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S10. Various leaks up till now have told us about some of the details of the phone. And they are every bit interesting. But a latest leak claims something even more interesting. Samsung Galaxy S10

    Massive Memory

A report by GF Securities in Honk Kong has detailed new facts. It says that Samsung is likely to launch a smartphone with 12 GB of RAM along with a massive 1 TB of internal storage. Some reports back in October had also shown alleged images of a listing of a Samsung phone with 12 GB of RAM. Considering the fact that Samsung is not holding back on innovations anymore. Also, the Galaxy S10 is Samsung’s shot at retaining the top position world-wide, 12 GB of RAM looks like a real possibility. Samsung Galaxy S10

Apart from the crazy memory specifications, the phone is said to launch in four different variants. And these variants will differ not only in price but also a lot of specifications. For starters, they will all have different display sizes, and one of the them, even a different display type altogether. This includes a cheaper Galaxy S10 Lite and a higher end Galaxy S10+. The Galaxy S10 Lite is said to have a flat display. Something that hasn’t been seen in flagship Galaxy phones for a while. The Galaxy S10+ is said to have a massive display, along with 5G connectivity.

    What’s More

Apart from this, the Samsung Galaxy S10 is said to have a triple or even possible quad rear camera setup. It is expected to have an in-display fingerprint sensor, which will use the ultrasonic technology and not the optical fingerprint sensor seen in most devices these days. It is also tipped to be the first phone with a truly bezel-less display, having no notches, cut-outs or sliding cameras.

  • Samsung Galaxy S10’s Screen Protector Hints At Possible Bezel-Less Display

Samsung Galaxy S10’s Screen Protector Hints At Possible Bezel-Less Display

Bezel-less displays have been all the rage ever since the infamous notch has been introduced. Smartphone manufacturers have been looking for ways to decrease the screen-to-body-ratios on their devices. A few companies introduced pop-up cameras, some shifted the front camera to the chin and the latest trend has been of the sliding camera panels. But, Samsung has never committed to any of these trends and maintained a very traditional look across all its smartphones. However, the South Korean giant is now looking to change that with the introduction of its new style of displays and the Galaxy S10.

    The Infinity DisplaysSamsung Galaxy S10

Samsung has recently shown off a set of displays. These include an Infinity V, an Infinity U and an Infinity O display. The Infinity U and Infinity V are pretty similar to the water-drop notch and house the front camera in a U and V shaped notch respectively. The Infinity O design has a unique, camera cut-out in the display. More interestingly, the camera cut-out might not even be in the centre of the display. This could be a possibility as shown by renders of the Galaxy A8s.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 is however, expected to be totally different. Multiple reports speak of only one thing, a totally bezel-less screen. This means it won’t have a V notch, U notch or even a camera cut-out. A recent Samsung patent had shown off plans for an in-display camera, which at this point of time is the only way to achieve this. While the company has not made any official announcement about the use of this technology, it is expected that the upcoming flagship will carry it.

Strengthening this claim, are the latest leaks surrounding the Galaxy S10. These are of alleged screen protectors of the device. As expected, the screen protectors do not have any cut-outs or space for any notch. These screen protectors do give us hope that the upcoming Samsung flagship will actually be the pinnacle of innovation and will bring something new to the smartphone market.

  • Samsung Is Developing A Fourth, 6.7 Inch Galaxy S10 Variant

Samsung Is Developing A Fourth, 6.7 Inch Galaxy S10 Variant

The Samsung Galaxy S10 is the upcoming flagship from Samsung and is expected to be the star of the Galaxy lineup. The Galaxy S10 also marks the ten-year anniversary of the Galaxy S series, making it all the more special. Samsung is also hoping that the Galaxy S10 will be Samsung’s big ticket to get back to the top of the smartphone market once again. With so much riding on the next phone, it seems like Samsung is not holding back in terms of innovations. While we thought that we almost knew what all to expect from the phone, a report surfaced, claiming the existence of a fourth variant of the Galaxy S10.

    That’s  A Lot Of GalaxiesSamsung Galaxy S10

Earlier, a flagship phone defined the standard set by a smartphone company. Obviously, your best would just be one. Now, that has evolved to at least two models, which vary in size, specifications and price. However, four variants to the same phone is a bit too much. Considering the alleged specifications of this device, Samsung might have been better off making it an entirely new phone.

The report details that a fourth Galaxy S10 variant will be available, featuring a massive, 6.7 inch display. This is other than the two 5.8 inch variants (one with a flat display) and one 6.4 inch variant (which was supposed to be the S10+). What’s even more amusing, is the addition of of four rear cameras and dual front-facing cameras. That makes for a total of six cameras on a smartphone. Whether the number of cameras will do the phone any good in terms of performance is still a major question. A prime example of this is the Google Pixel 3. The Pixel 3, despite having just a single lens, beats most of the smartphone cameras out there.

Apart from this, the report also suggests that Samsung is thinking about bringing the reverse wireless charging technology, which was recently seen on the Huawei Mate 20 pro, to the galaxy S10. Sources also say that the phone is known by the name “Beyond X” in the company circles. The 6.7 inch Beyond X will also have 5G support.

  • The Galaxy S10 Will Bring Back Flat Displays To Samsung Flagships

The Galaxy S10 Will Bring Back Flat Displays To Samsung Flagships

There is no doubt about the fact that Samsung phones feature some of the best displays, whether they are flagship devices or even mid-range and budget phones. The bit about the mid-range and budget phones might change soon. But the flagships will continue to receive the best-in-class displays. Samsung had introduced the curved, Infinity display with its edge series way back with the Galaxy S6. Soon, the S8 and S9 were only available with curved displays and the flat display option was removed. According to the latest report, this option might be making a comeback with the latest Samsung Galaxy S10.

It is well known by now that the Samsung Galaxy S10 will launch in three different variants. While the only difference between these variants up till now was the size difference and some other unconfirmed specifications, the new report also details the type of displays that they may use. The cheapest variant of the Galaxy S10, which will also be the smallest, is said to have a 5.8 inch flat display. The second model will have a 5.8 inch screen as well, but this one will be curved. The third, tipped to be the Galaxy S10+ will have a 6.2 inch curved display.

The details surface from, a report about the changes in chemical suppliers for the displays. The new suppliers now use organic chemicals for the Red, Green and Blue sub pixels. These will replace the M8 chemicals used in the S9 and Note 9 with M9 chemicals. The report also details that the phones will ‘appear’ in the first half of 2019 and the production for the panels is already underway.

    Galaxy S10Samsung Galaxy S10

While most of us are familiar with the numerous leaks surrounding the Galaxy S10, here is a quick recap for those who aren’t. The Galaxy S10 is Samsung’s next flagship smartphone. The launch of the S10 will also mark the 10th anniversary of the Galaxy S devices, making the smartphone all the more special. Some reports also suggest that it is for this very reason that the company had held back on some of the innovations during the production of the galaxy S9, saving it for the S10.

The Galaxy S10 is as mentioned before, expected to launch in three variants. This includes a cheaper version, dubbed as the Galaxy S10 Lite, the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10+. Other interesting details about the phone include an in-display fingerprint sensor, a notch-less display (with a camera cut-out or an in-display front camera) and 5G connectivity on the Galaxy S10+. Additionally, this will also be the first phone from Samsung to run on the brand new One UI, out of the box. This will allow for a lot more customisations and a better user experience.

Samsung To Launch The Next Exynos SoC on November 14

The SoC or Processor is the core component of every smartphone. Qualcomm is the leading smartphone chipmaker but a lot of other companies also develop and manufacture these tiny modern marvels. Apple has their A series processors, Huawei makes Kirin processors and Samsung has their Exynos range of chipsets. Recently, Samsung has shared a teaser of an upcoming flagship Exynos processor. The new processor will be seen on the upcoming Galaxy S10.

    The Next Exynos

    https://twitter.com/SamsungExynos/status/1060879822300348417

The poster shows a smartphone with the upcoming Samsung Exynos processor. It will be the successor to the Exynos 9810 which is present on the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9. The processor might be called Exynos 9820, but that is not officially confirmed. It will be the first 7 nm chip from Samsung. However, competitors Huawei and Apple have already launched their Kirin 980 & A12 bionic, 7nm processors. Samsung claims the 7 nm manufacturing technology will boost performance by up to 20% while reducing power consumption by up to 50%.

Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+

The poster reveals that the processor is set to launch on November 14. It also reads ‘Intelligence from within’ which hints that the new chipset will feature a dedicated AI (Artificial Intelligence) Chip. The new SoC will likely have a neural processing unit that will enable the Galaxy S10 to perform complex AI & machine learning tasks.

  • Samsung Galaxy S10 To Not Have The Iris Scanner

Samsung Galaxy S10 To Not Have The Iris Scanner

The Samsung Galaxy S10 is the upcoming flagship by Samsung. The smartphone marks the 10th anniversary of the Galaxy S series by Samsung and is therefore bound to be special. Previous leaks of the smartphone have showcased some very exciting features of the Galaxy S10. These include an almost bezel-less display with an in-display cameraamong others. Latest reports suggest that Samsung will remove the Iris Scanner on the Galaxy S10. It will instead replaced by an in-display fingerprint sensor.

    More Than Meets the Eye

    Galaxy S9

The Iris Scanner was first introduced with the Galaxy Note 7, infamous for its faulty batteries, which caused some smartphones to explode. The technology is seen in all the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S devices launched after the Note 7. The Galaxy Tab S4 is the most recent device to sport the Iris Scanner. The Iris Scanner by Samsung promised a high level of security with equally high levels of privacy as well. But now, the technology will make way for something bigger and more important; a larger display.

Removing the sensor present on the top will ensure that there is more screen real estate on the Samsung Galaxy S10. The device will either have an in-display front-facing camera or a camera cut out on the display. This will make way for more screen real estate while not settling for a notch. Samsung is the only major Smartphone manufacturer who has not adopted the notch yet. We expect for the company to set a new trend with its next smartphone.

    UltraSonic Fingerprint Sensor

    Top 10 Features

The Samsung Galaxy S10 will now have an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader. Almost all the smartphones available in the market today use an optical in-display fingerprint reader. The ultrasonic sensor is much more secure and upto 3x more expensive than its optical counterpart. Qualcomm has already finished the development of this sensor which uses cameras to map the ridges in your fingerprint along with the sweat pores on your fingers. The technology can work well through any type of display and also while in contact with water, sweat or grease.

  • Samsung Galaxy S10 To Have New Infinity-V Display

Samsung Galaxy S10 To Have New Infinity-V Display

Samsung is a leading electronic component supplier and the largest smartphone manufacturer globally. The South-Korean giant’s success dates back to the inception of the first Android smartphones. The company has been struggling to keep up its number one global position due to fierce competition from their Chinese counterparts. Ever since the launch of Galaxy S1 and Galaxy Note 1, Samsung has produced top of the line Android smartphones. And now the company is about to launch its latest Galaxy S10 smartphone.

    Samsung’s Android Dominance

    Galaxy S9+

In the past, Samsung smartphones have been the standalone Android competitor to Apple iPhone’s prowess. But in recent times, new companies like OnePlus, Huawei and Xiaomi have grown rapidly hampering Samsung’s sales. However, Samsung being a leading component supplier can develop new innovations to regain lost market share.

Recently Samsung has filed a trademark with the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) for the Infinity-V display technology. The trademark is filed under category 9 which includes ‘smartphones and displays for smartphones’. This might be a new edge to edge display for the upcoming Galaxy S10.

    Galaxy S10: Infinity-V display?

    Galaxy S8 in Burgundy Red

The Galaxy S10 will be the successor to the Galaxy S9 which was launched earlier this year. The last Samsung flagships S9 & S8 have not performed very well in terms of sales. So, it is expected with the Galaxy S10, Samsung will pull out the big guns and fully load the upcoming smartphone with the latest technology. The trend for smartphones with slim bezels is flourishing rapidly, Samsung’s competitors have launched devices that follow the same philosophy. The recently launched OnePlus 6T and Xioami Mi Mix 3 have marginally thinner bezels compared to what Samsung’s current flagship S9 has.

So, it is apparent to fight back and maintain traction in the industry, Samsung has to launch devices with thin or no bezels. This is where the latest trademark of the Infinity-V display is put to use.

Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S10 is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2019. Not many specifications for the device are currently available but it will surely have better features than the Samsung Galaxy S9. For reference:-

  • Samsung Galaxy S10+ To Have 93.4% Screen-To-Body Ratio

Samsung Galaxy S10+ To Have 93.4% Screen-To-Body Ratio

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 flagship is one of the most anticipated devices, set to launch next year. Samsung is has set its focus on a lot on innovations this time around and the numerous leaks and rumours about the device seem to hold that true. The phone might have three variants, varying screens, an in-display fingerprint sensor. Most recently, reports of a 93 % screen-to-body ratio have surfaced.

    Samsung Galaxy S10

Such a high screen-to-body ratio can only hint at one thing, a bezel-less, notch-less display. It is well known that Samsung will not be adapting the notch, especially for their next flagship. So the obvious conclusion is that Samsung  has actually developed the in-display camera technology for its upcoming flagship. The in-display camera sensor will eliminate the need for a notch or a bezel, thus ensuring that the device can reach the said screen-top-body ratio. To put things into perspective, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, with its sliding camera has a 93 % screen-to-body ratio.

    The Latest In Innovation

Samsung is said to be working on an in-display front facing camera as well. The company had introduced this concept at the 2018 Samsung OLED forum. The company had not only spoken about the in-display front camera, but also other OLED technologies such as a screen sound technology. Recently, a Samsung patent surfaced which showed a way to turn the entire display into a fingerprint sensor. This could have multiple possibilities in the future such as using any part of the display to unlock the phone. Along with using multiple fingers for authentication and not just one and also the ability for the device to constantly read your fingerprint while you sue it, for advanced security.

Recently, Samsung had teased the Galaxy A8s which is sad to have a camera cut-out for on its screen. While this is not exactly an in-display camera sensor, it might be the first step towards it. Samsung might be saving all of its best features for the flagship galaxy S10.

Samsung Working On An In-Display Front Facing Camera

Samsung is reportedly working on an in-display front facing camera. If the reports are true, then we are going to witness one of the biggest jumps in smartphone technology. An in-display front-facing camera eliminates the need for a bezel or a notch to house the camera sensor. This could result in a truly bezel-less display without the hassles of a ‘sliding’ or ‘pop-up’ camera.

Samsung displayed the plan to do so at the 2018 Samsung OLED forum. The company announced that they will be working on other OLED technologies as well. This includes an in-display fingerprint scanner, a touch-sensitive technology and a screen sound technology. What these would do is not exactly clear as of now. But the in-display camera is the most exciting and arguably the most important out of the lot.

    A New Trendsetter?

Samsung has kept away from the ‘notch’ trend all this while. While every other smartphone manufacturer, including Google has jumped on to the bandwagon, Samsung has not. Recently, Samsung was teasing Google for the huge notch on its Pixel 3 XL device. It has also been mocking Apple ever since the launch of the iPhone X. With such confidence in their design and the need to bring something new, which will define the industry standard for design, Samsung might be looking to integrate this technology in the upcoming Galaxy S10.

However, reports also claim that this technology is in its infancy and is just being tested on a handful of prototype phones. With the launch of the Galaxy S10 not far away, this could mean that we will not see this technology in the device. However, we can expect many surprises from the company in terms of the Galaxy S10. The S10 is said to feature a bigger screen, a bigger battery and might even have a 5G variant, along with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
