Xiaomi has shared teasers for an upcoming smartphone on Weibo. The teaser reveals that the smartphone will carry the “Pro 2” suffix. According to the teaser, the smartphone will feature the Snapdragon 675 SoC and a massive 48 MP camera. Earlier this month, Xiaomi President Lin Bin shared a photo of a smartphone that had a 48 MP rear camera and a report claims that it will be a Redmi device. The same report also claims that the upcoming Redmi smartphone will have an in-display cutout for the front-facing camera like the Samsung Galaxy A8s and Huawei Nova 4.

The Redmi Pro 2

All the reports suggest that the upcoming smartphone is the Redmi Pro 2. It is the successor to the Redmi Pro which was launched back in 2016. The Pro suffix smartphones are the flagship devices for Xiaomi’s Redmi series and the same is expected from the Redmi Pro 2. Except for the camera and processor information, not many details of the Redmi 2 Pro are available. However, being the successor to the Redmi Pro, it is expected to have better specifications than the latter.
