LG G4 vs LG G3: Is it Worth the Upgrade?

Finally, LG has released its long awaited flagship today at an unveiling event held in New York and London simultaneously. Here, we will have a look at the major differences between the LG G3, which was released last year in May, and the G4. Comparing notes to answer ‘What is the real difference?’

From the specs point of view, the 5.5-inch QHD resolution G4 is packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB RAM. It has 32GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 128GB. It has a 13MP camera along with f/1.8 aperture, color spectrum and optical image stabilization. The 8MP front camera also has a f/1.8 aperture. Connectivity options include LTE-Advanced support, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC.

From the table above, we can see that there is not much difference between the two handsets. The G4 is primarily taken the lead on the camera specifications, especially the front camera. The G4 has won the race by featuring an 8MP front camera as compared to G3’s 2.1MP front shooter. The screen size remains the same, except that the G4 packs a higher resolution than the G3. The only spec where the G3 is above is in the battery department. But then, how much difference can 100mAh make? The display, camera and the processor specifications may make the LG G4 a good choice over the LG G3.

LG Outs the G4, Featuring a Super-Bright Camera and a Leather-Clad Body

After weeks of leaks and speculations, LG has finally disclosed its next flagship. The Korean electronics maker today launched the G4 in New York and the smartphone holds the same specifications as disclosed in the last leak. The company is betting big on the new device and claims that it offers an exceptional visual experience.

The G4 features a 5.5-inch Quad HD display that uses quantum dot technology. The company says that it is a first on the phone and results in higher brightness and contrast. The processor fitted on the device is a six-core Snapdragon 808 processor. LG says that the Snapdragon 808 churns out power similar to Samsung’s octa-core Exynos chip. With 3GB RAM, the internal storage space of the G4 is 32GB, which can be expanded via a MicroSD card. As teased, the smartphone runs on Android Lollipop.

Talking about the camera performance, then LG G4 boasts a 16MP camera with f/1.8 aperture. LG earlier released a teaser video revealing its ability to capture photos in low-light conditions. An 8MP camera sits on the front for selfie requirements. The improved gesture control on the device lets users take multiple selfies in one the go. Other features include manual mode, RAW shooting and a color spectrum sensor. The handset holds a removable 3,000mAh battery, which the company states can last for one day.

LG has introduced some noteworthy features in the new device. The phone comes with built-in tools like smart widget, SmartBulletin, and a refurbished gallery app. Buyers of the handset will get 100GB of free space on Google Drive for two years.

The phone will be available in four colour options – Black, Blue, Yellow, Beige. The back plates of the phone are carved out of leather and will come in multiple shades.

For now, LG hasn’t disclosed the price and availability details of LG G4. But we can expect to hear about it soon.

The upcoming phone by the Korean electronics manufacturer LG is the current hot topic. The smartphone is expected to compete with Apple’s iPhone 6 and Samsung’s Galaxy S6. While the company officially unveils the LG G4 on 28^th of this month, let’s walk you through the speculations about the next LG flagship.

The new G4 by LG is said to feature a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560×1440) display. This was officially stated by the display manufacturing unit of the company. The phone will come with a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor along with 2GB and 3GB RAM options. LG G4 will come in nine different back panels, out of which three are standard, and six are crafted back panels made of real leather. The colour options include yellow, brown, silver and more.

Over a week back, LG accidently opened the LG G4 website that uncovered the above-mentioned details. Though, we can’t consider them as final until LG officially brings out the device. A good news for LG enthusiasts, LG Electronics India will be selecting a handful of Indian consumers to test out the new LG G4 smartphone before its official launch on April 28th. This is being done as a part of the company’s consumer experience campaign in India.

The individuals will be selected based on their entry responses. The chances of being selected will increase when application experiences are shared on different social media platforms like Facebook or Twitter. Once selected, a LG G4 handset will be given to the winning participant for 30 days, and they will be given a list of assignments to carry out during the testing period.

From the teasers made official by the company, we can conclude the LG G4 will boast an all-new interface UX4.0 with a f/1.8 aperture camera. LG’s New Design Patent Shows a Futuristic Smartphone-Watch Hybrid

We can all agree that the modern day design of smartphones have reached a standstill. Slowly tech industry giants are looking to develop futuristic devices with dual-bending display. Case in point – the bendable LG G Flex 2 and the dual-edge Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Another significant advancement that the firms are now aiming at is a bendable phone that can be wrapped around the wrist. Seems like LG may have overcome a major hurdle in making the hybrid wrist-phone concept a reality.

The Korean consumer electronics manufacturer has been granted a patent by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) that speaks of a phone and watch combination. The design patent gives a perspective view of a smartphone that can be bent at the ends to wrap around the band. It turns the band into a smart device that has the smartphone as a screen. Such a smart band would be nothing but a huge bracelet with an enormous screen.

Other images suggest that the smartphone can be docked onto the band or bracelet, transforming your hand into a portable phone holder. The patent doesn’t mention the mechanism behind securing a giant screen onto a wristband, but surely there has to be a locking system to keep it fixed.

LG has two bendable devices in its catalogue, G Flex and G Flex 2. At this point of time, it would be too early to say if this model is feasible as there are many hurdles building such a prototype. First of all the SoC (system-on-chip) has to be extremely thin and compact to fit in the thin band, then there are many other primary issues like paper-thin battery, which is a dream yet to achieve.

4000 People Will Get a Chance To Test Out the LG G4 Before Launch

LG is all set to bring out its new flagship that will take on the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and Apple’s iPhone 6. The LG G4 is expected to come out by the end of this month. Previously the device was expected to come out at the MWC 2015 but LG decided to work a bit longer on the handset to bring out a real competitor. LG has now announced that it will let 4000 people test out their new top-end device.

The Korean electronics giant will be working with 4000 people in 15 markets to take the G4 on a test ride. LG says that its intention is to let the users have first-hand experience of the device instead of depending on reported spec-sheets, benchmarks and speed tests to judge the new device. The program has already started in Korea on Wednesday, and will soon be brought to Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, Turkey, the UK and US.

The LG G4 is expected to come out by April 28. The company hopes to generate buzz for the smartphone through social media initiatives through which they will find the 4000 potential testers of the new device. It will lead to tons of information and views before the launch, but it shows that LG is confident in their product to discard the secrecy that is usually maintained before the launch of any device. The 42 second video clip doesn’t let slip much about the device, however it reveals one important detail. The LG G4 will feature a standalone f/1.8 camera aperture, giving it a (very) slight edge over the Samsung Galaxy S6. The firm has yet again used the video to reiterate the launch date of LG G4 as April 28.

This time, LG is not relying on leakers and the company itself is teasing LG G4’s features bit by bit. Before this, LG announced that the device will boast a Quad HD display and few days later, a video sharing little details of the fresh user interface UX 4.0. LG Sends Out Invites; the G4 Expected to Arrive on 28th April

South Korean company, LG, has started sending out press invites for an event which will be held on April 28th. This event may likely see the launch of the company’s next flagship, the LG G4. The South Korean electronics giant will hold the events on April 28 and April 29 (due to time zones) in six cities: New York, London, Paris, Seoul, Singapore, and Istanbul.

The official invite simply reads ‘See the Great, Feel the Great’. The invite also features a leather background signifying that the new LG G4 may sport a leather rear case. The invite also hints that LG will focus on using high-end materials for the phone.

According to GSMArena, the rumored specifications of this handset include a 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It is also said to feature Android Lollipop, possibly Android 5.1. Camera specifications include a 8 MP front camera and a 16MP rear camera with optical image stabilization and Laser Auto Focus. The flagship is also rumored to sport a radically new design, including a curved display.

According to reports, the G4 launch was delayed until April to avoid the MWC clash, which took place from 2nd March to 5th March. This was done with the intention of avoiding the hype created by Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. The reports also suggest the LG G4 might be a complete change from the previous generation LG G3.
