    Motorola One And Moto G7 Launched In India

    Motorola has launched two new smartphones, the Moto G7 and Motorola One in the Indian market today. The Moto G7 is the latest device in the company’s hugely popular Moto G lineup while the Moto One is the second Android One smartphone from the company and is the specced down variant of the Motorola One Power, which was launched in the country last year. While the G7 was launched in Brazil on February 7, the Motorola One was launched in the US last year.

    The Moto G7 measures 157 × 75.3 × 7.92mm and weighs in at 174 grams. Design-wise, it has glass on both the front and back of the handset. The smartphone has a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with 2270 x 1080 px resolution and a waterdrop notch up top. The device has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and supports face unlock technology.

    Under the hood, the Moto G7 runs on the 14nm Snapdragon 632 SoC which consists of an Octa-Core CPU and Adreno 506 GPU. The rear of the smartphone has the dual rear camera setup which is comprised of a 12 MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and 5 MP secondary sensor. For selfies, the handset has an 8MP camera housed in the notch on the top of the display. In terms of memory and storage, there is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.

    The Moto G7 is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery which supports fast charging up to 15W with the bottom mounted USB Type-C port and runs on the latest Android 9.0 Pie. The handset also has P2i nano-coating which is certified to protect against liquid spills. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2. The device is available in two colour options namely Clear White and Ceramic Black.

    The Motorola One measures 150×72×7.97 mm and weighs 162g. The front is dominated by a 5.9-inch IPS LCD display with 1520 x 720 px resolution and minimal bezels on the sides. There is a substantially wide notch on the top and a chin on the bottom. For biometrics and security, the smartphone has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and support for face recognition technology.

    Under the hood, the Motorola One is kitted with a 14nm Snapdragon 625 SoC. The chipset has an Octa-core CPU and Adreno 506 GPU. In terms of optics, the smartphone has a dual rear camera setup which is comprised of a 13 MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and 2 MP secondary depth sensor. For selfies, the handset has an 8MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture housed in the notch on the top of the display. Like the Moto G7, the device has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.

    The newly announced Motorola One is powered by 3000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging via USB Type-C port. The smartphone is Android One certified and runs on the latest Android 9 Pie. The certification means that the device will get guaranteed two years of regular software updates. Like the Moto G7, it has also has a P2i nano-coating which is certified to protect against liquid spills. The device is available in two colour options namely White and Black.

    The Moto G7 and Motorola One will be available starting today, 25th March across leading offline stores and online on Flipkart for the price of Rs. 16,999. The Motorola One is priced at Rs. 13,999. Initial buyers of the devices will also get a cashback from Jio as a part of a special launch offer.

    Motorola launched the four latest smartphones in the Moto G7 lineup in February. The devices were launched in Brazil and included the Moto G7 Play, G7 Power, G7 and G7 Plus. While the Moto G7 Power has been available in India for a price of Rs. 13,999 since last month, there was no other smartphone of the range in sight. The company has now confirmed that the Moto G7 will launch in India on March 25.

    The Moto G7 will launch in India on March 25 and is expected to go on sale soon after from major online and offline carriers. While the pricing of the smartphone isn’t known yet, it costs US$ 299 (Rs. 20,585) in the United States. It is expected that the device is priced similarly in the country.

    Motorola is expected to soon launch the all-new Moto G7 series of smartphones. The Moto G7 which is the successor to the Moto G6 has leaked before its official launch. The leak reveals that the upcoming device will have an all-new front design.

    Moto G7 Design

    The Moto G7 has an all-glass front and rear build like its predecessor. However, the front of the new smartphone has a small waterdrop notch that houses the front-facing selfie camera. The earpiece for listening to phone calls is built into the top bezel above the display. The chin below the display is quite chunky and it carries the Motorola branding. 

    The right side of the Moto G7 accommodates the power button and the volume rockers while the left side is free from any controls or slots. The top of the device houses the SIM card slot and a small secondary microphone pinhole. The USB Type-C port, the 3.5 mm audio jack and the loudspeaker grille are placed at the bottom of the smartphone. 

    The rear side of the Moto G7 looks very premium with a gloss silver finish. The back panel of the device harbors the fingerprint sensor, main microphone pinhole, and the dual camera set up along with an LED flash. 

    Moto G7 Specifications

    The Moto G7 was previously spotted on FCC’s website which revealed key specifications of the handset. The smartphone features the Snapdragon 660 SoC which consists of an Octa-Core CPU and the Adreno 512 GPU. According to the FCC listing, the smartphone has support for dual SIM cards. The smartphone from the listing has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM. However, the company is also expected to launch higher storage capacity variants of Moto G7. Other details like the resolution of the camera sensors, screen size, and the battery capacity will be made public once the company officially announces the smartphone.

    Motorola has not officially announced the launch date of the Moto G7. However, the Moto G7 along with other members of the G7 family is expected to launch in the month of April as the current Moto G6 smartphones were also unveiled in the month of April. Going by the specifications of the device it will be priced around Rs 15,000.

    Motorola Mobility launched the Moto G6 Series of smartphones earlier this year. In terms of design, the Moto G6 smartphones were a big leap from its previous generations. The smartphones got all-new glass backs and an 18:9 aspect ratio screen. The company is gearing up for the launch of the Moto G7 smartphones, of which the renders have leaked online. The leaked renders extensively showcase the design of each G7 smartphone. The upcoming series of smartphones include the Moto G7, Moto G7 Plus, Moto G7 Power and the Moto G7 Play. The renders reveal that the devices will have an all-new front and back design.

     Design

    Going by the previous generation Motorola G smartphones, the Moto G7, and Moto G7 will be the pricier and feature-rich devices out of the four. While the Moto G7 Power and the Moto G7 Play will be low specced, more affordable options. The G7/G7 Plus duo and the G7 Power/G7 Play duo have similar designs. The front of Moto G7 and G7 Plus smartphones have thin bezels around the display and a small waterdrop notch. Similarly, the Moto G7 Power and G7 Play have thin bezels around the display but these devices have a wide notch instead of dewdrop notch on their elder siblings.

    Another differentiating feature is the rear camera setup, the Moto G7/G7 Plus have dual rear cameras whereas the Moto G7 Power/G7 Play have single rear cameras.  Most notably, all members of the Moto G7 family now have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, unlike the previous generation smartphones which had front fingerprint sensors.

    All four Moto G7 series smartphones are expected to launch in the first quarter of 2019. Motorola might launch the smartphones in April as the current Moto G6 smartphones were also unveiled in the month of April.

    Motorola Moto G was launched back in the year 2013. Due to its competitive pricing, great specifications & near stock android experience the device was a sensational hit. The company claims to have sold over 70 million Moto G series smartphones across the globe. The Moto G series did very well until the Moto G4 which is when the company started to lose its luster due to fierce competition from Chinese OEM’s like Oppo and Xiaomi. The last two Moto G smartphones, the Moto G5, and Moto G6 have not lived up to the company’s expectations. To retain their legacy the company must offer solid smartphones in the future. One upcoming device is the Moto G7 which has recently passed FCC certification. Additionally, the press renders of the Moto G7 have also surfaced online.

    Brand New Design

    The press renders of the Moto G7 reveal both front and rear design of the upcoming smartphone. The front of the smartphone has a waterdrop notch at the top and a thick chin at the bottom. The back of the device has glass build that tapers towards the edges. The device has a fingerprint sensor and a horizontally aligned dual camera set up at the back. The renders also reveal that power button and volume rockers are placed on the right side while the microphone pinhole and sim slot are placed on top of the handset.

    Specifications From FCC

    The FCC listing provides information about the processor, storage, and memory of the Moto G7. The listing suggests that the smartphone will have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM. The handset works on the Octa-Core Snapdragon 660 chipset and it also supports NFC. Other technicalities like the battery capacity and screen size are not mentioned in the listing.

    A previous leak claims the device will be powered by a 3,500 mAh battery and will have a 6.4-inch Full HD display. The same leak suggests that the device will run on Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box.
