OnePlus 6 Design Leaked By Case Maker

The OnePlus 6 might launch in India by the end of April. Just like every year, the company has been teasing different aspects of the smartphone before the launch. And now, a smartphone case maker Olixar has leaked the OnePlus 6 in its full glory, not leaving anything for our imagination. In fact, the cases are currently available for pre-order with a starting price of US$ 7.49 and go up to US$ 35.49 for a rugged case with a screen protector.

According to leaked case renders, the OnePlus 6 has a vertically placed dual camera setup with an LED flash and a Samsung Galaxy S9+ style fingerprint sensor. On the front, the smartphone has an almost bezel-less design with a notch on the top portion of the display. The volume buttons are placed on the left side of the smartphone, whereas the power button and an Alert Slider is placed on the right side. The bottom bezel looks almost negligible, and the smartphone might achieve the highest screen to body ratio.

To sum it up, the smartphone looks like the Apple iPhone X from the front and resembles the Samsung Galaxy S9+ from the back side.

This year, the company will launch the OnePlus 6 in three different variants. Two variants will be similar to the OnePlus 5T with 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage. According to reports, the entry-level OnePlus 6 with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage might cost Rs 34,000. And a top of the line model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage might cost up to Rs 48,999. Additionally, the company might also launch a limited Avengers Edition OnePlus 6, similar to the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition.

  • Possible Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini Leaked Online

Possible Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini Leaked Online

Samsung’s last known mini flagship smartphone was the Galaxy S5 Mini. After which, the company has been launching a standard variant and a plus variant of its flagship phones. However, this might soon change as a possible Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini has been listed on TENAA. There are a good number of reasons to claim that SM-G8850 belongs to the flagship S series from Samsung. First, Samsung reserves it’s QHD+ Super AMOLED display for its flagship phones and this device has a QHD+ display. And also. the smartphone runs on the Exynos 9810 Octa-core chipset, which is the chipset used on the Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+.

Samsung Galaxy S9 mini: A Compact Flagship

According to the TENAA listing, the Galaxy S9 Mini has the same 5.8 inch display as the Galaxy S9. However, the Galaxy S9 Mini might skip on the Iris Scanner, which will reduce the cost of manufacturing. Additionally, the Galaxy S9 mini might also miss out the wireless charging capability. The smartphone has an iPhone X style dual camera setup with a fingerprint scanner placed in the top middle portion of the smartphone.

    Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini
    Samsung Galaxy S9+

According to the TENNA listing, the Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini has a 5.8 inch QHD+ 2960 × 1440 px Super AMOLED Display. The compact phone runs on the Exynos 9810 Octa-core chipset and has  both 4GB and 6GB RAM options. The listing does not reveal any storage information. However, considering current flagship smartphones from Samsung, the device might have either 64/128GB onboard storage with an optional memory expansion up to 400GB via a micro SD card.

The phone is listed with a dual rear-camera setup with a two 12MP sensors. However, the listing does not mention the presence of variable aperture similar to that on the Galaxy S9. There is however, an 8MP front-facing camera similar to the Samsung Galaxy S9.

If launched, the Galaxy S9 mini is expected to compete against the likes of the OnePlus 6, Honor 10 and the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s, especially in large growing markets like India.

OnePlus 6 Teaser Reveals Its Similarities With The OnePlus 5T

Continuing the trend of teasing different aspects of a smartphone before the launch, OnePlus has posted an interesting image on Twitter. The OnePlus 6 is expected to launch in the coming weeks and a lot of specifications and design elements have already leaked. The image posted by OnePlus reveals its new flagship smartphone won’t be too different in size from the OnePlus 5T.

Just like the company did before the OnePlus 5T launch, the OnePlus 6 is kept underneath the OnePlus 5T signifying the similarity in size of both the phones. This time around, the OnePlus 6 is expected to have even more screen real estate than the OnePlus 5T thanks to a notch on top. Another interesting bit that this image reveals is the placement of hardware buttons on the OnePlus 6. Unlike the OnePlus 5T and previous OnePlus smartphones, the Alert Slider appears to be placed on the right-hand side of the 6. OnePlus has already teased added functionalities of the Alter Slider and this change in placement surely confirms that.

There have been rumours that the 6 will have an all-glass design and even feature wireless charging. Although that seems like a fair bet, OnePlus, as of now, has not hinted towards that feature or build quality.

HTC introduced the dual camera setup way back in 2012 with the HTC Evo 3D. Later on, the company launched the HTC M8 Eye, in 2014 with a dual camera setup albeit, a different implementation. However, HTC has since then shied away from using a dual-camera setup on its line of flagship smartphones even though companies like Apple, Samsung, OnePlus, LG etc have adopted the new trend of dual-camera setups. In early-2018, HTC did launch the HTC Desire 12+ with a dual-camera setup but, it was a budget smartphone with not a lot of global appeal. Now, it appears that HTC is ready to introduce a dual-camera setup on its flagship lineup with the HTC U12+, as suggested by a new leak. On the connectivity front, the device supports latest Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, and 4G LTE with VoLte. The phone runs on Android 8 Oreo, backed by a 3000 mAh sealed battery with a micro USB port for charging and data syncing. Like most of the mid-tier smartphones, the device misses out on important sensors such as the gyroscope and ambient light sensor. However, the phone does have a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button.

If this smartphone is launched under Rs 15,000 mark, then this smartphone can compete against the devices like Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Honor 7x, and the Moto G5s Plus.
