Full Spec Sheet Of The Galaxy S10 Series Leaks

On February 20, Samsung will launch the Galaxy S10 lineup at its Unpacked event. This is the tenth anniversary of the Galaxy ‘S’ series so the devices are expected to be riddled with innovative features. There have been leaks here and there but now we finally have everything in one place. A spec sheet containing all the final, detailed specs of the Galaxy S10 series has been leaked reportedly. This confirms most of the already known details and gives us a lot of new information about the Galaxy S10 series

At the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung is expected to announce three devices. These three devices will be the Galaxy S10e, the Galaxy S10, and the Galaxy S10+. The devices will be the next flagships of the Korean smartphone maker and are expected to employ a lot of world’s first in technology.

    Galaxy S10e

    via @evleaks

The Galaxy S10e will be the cheapest, entry-level device of the three. According to the spec sheet, The S10e features a 5.8-inch Infinity-O display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 px. The display technology is called Dynamic AMOLED HDR+. Gorilla Glass 5 is used to protect the display from scratches and falls. It will feature a side mounted fingerprint sensor that may double as a power button. The device will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 or the Exynos 9820 depending on the region. The listing only mentions Exynos 9820, so the leak may be from outside of North America.

In terms of optics, the S10e will have dual cameras on the back. These cameras will be 12MP (f/1.5-2.4) and 16MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lenses. The selfie camera will be a 10MP (f/1.9) one. The device will be available in two variants, one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and another one with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The S10e will also be available in four colors at launch. These colors will be Prism White, Prism Green, Prism Black and Canary Yellow. The pricing of the device is expected to start around Rs. 50,000.

    Galaxy S10

The regular S10 sits between the S10e and the more premium S10+. The device will feature a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED HDR+ Infinity-O display with a resolution of 3040 x 1440 px. It will have Gorilla Glass 6 for protection. The device also may run on the Snapdragon 855 or the Exynos 9820 depending on the region. It will be the world’s first phone to have an ultrasonic In-Display fingerprint scanner. It will also feature 3D face scanning for unlocking the device.

In terms of optics, the Galaxy S10 will feature triple cameras at the back. These cameras will be a 12MP (f/1.5-2.4) sensor combined with a 12MP (f/2.4) telephoto camera and the third will be a 16MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide camera. For selfies, the device will have a 10MP (f/1.9) front camera. The device will be available in two variants. One with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage and another with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage. There will be three colors for the device. They will be Prism White, Prism Green and Prism Black. Pricing for the S10 might start around the Rs 65,000 mark.

    Galaxy S10+

The Galaxy S10+ will be the most expensive of the three. It features a 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED HDR+ Infinity-O display with a resolution of 3040 x 1440 px.  It will also have Gorilla Glass 6 for protection. The S10+ will also, either feature the Snapdragon 855 or the Exynos 9820 depending on the region. Along with the S10, it will have an ultrasonic In-Display fingerprint scanner and a 3D face recognition.

The device will also have a triple camera set up on the back which will be the same as the S10. The front will be different though. The S10+ will feature a dual camera setup on the front. These will be a combination of a 10MP (f/1.9) lens with an 8MP (f/2.2) camera. The device will be available in Three variants. Which will be one with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, another with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage and a limited edition version with 12GB RAM and a whopping 1TB storage. WhatsApp for Android Redesigns The Settings Menu

WhatsApp in an update today has redesigned the settings menu for Android users. The update is now available for WhatsApp Beta users and has the build number v2.19.45. The update brings about significant design changes in the settings menu for the popular messaging app. It should be available in a stable update to the rest of the users soon.

The update doesn’t introduce a new feature or settings altogether, but rather tries to beautify certain aspects of the menu. There are now icons to each option in the settings menu and the network usage page is also redesigned completely.

    WhatsApp v2.19.45: What’s New?

The beta version of this update focusses on giving the settings menu of the app a design overhaul. ‘Accounts’ section now has a dedicated icon for each of the submenu. Options like ‘Security’, ‘Change number’, and ‘Two-step verification’ have also gained redesigned icons. The layout of all options in the ‘Notifications’ section remains the same though. All the tools in the ‘Help’ section have also been updated with dedicated icons.

  • Samsung Teases The Launch Of Its Foldable Phone

Samsung Teases The Launch Of Its Foldable Phone

Samsung will launch a plethora of devices at the Unpacked event on February 20 in San Fransisco. There were many leaks and rumors that the foldable Galaxy device might make an appearance at the event but we now finally have official confirmation. Samsung Mobile’s official twitter handle has shared a video confirming that the Galaxy F, as it’s rumored to be called, will be announced alongside the Galaxy S10 series.

The Foldable Galaxy smartphone has been long rumored to have the name Galaxy F. The F might stand for ‘Fold’ here. The device was last shown off at the Samsung Developer Conference in November last year. And while Samsung didn’t show how the device looks, we saw that it bent inwards. This is unlike the Royole FlexPai, which has an outward bend.

The video shows Korean text on the screen and then the words “The Future Unfolds” appear, followed by the date. This doesn’t need much explanation that the choice of words and the animations used, prove that it is indeed about a foldable smartphone. We got a glimpse of how the device is going to look like in a teaser video shared by Samsung a few days ago.

    Samsung Galaxy F Specifications

The Galaxy F, as it’s rumored to be called, will be an alternate flagship device for Samsung. It will reportedly feature two displays. One will be a 7.3 inches Super AMOLED one with a 2152 x 1536 px resolution. The second display may be a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED one. The device will run on the Snapdragon 855 combined with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It may have dual cameras on the front and the back, details of which are unknown.

Due to its thin profile and foldable nature, the device will reporedly be powered by two 3100mAh batteries. The device will run on a version of Android Pie optimized for foldable devices. The device will also be the most expensive Samsung has ever made, expected to be available the $1700 price tag. Samsung is expected to make this device available for sale later this year.

  • Xiaomi Speaks Out Loud About Its Foldable Smartphone

Xiaomi Speaks Out Loud About Its Foldable Smartphone

In the month of January, a Senior Xiaomi executive shared a video of an intriguing device on the Chinese social media website, Weibo. The video demonstrates a distinctive smartphone that unfolds into a large screen tablet. Unlike foldable smartphone concepts and patents from OEMs like Samsung and LG, the Xiaomi device has a unique handling mechanism. While the hands-on video of the smart device was turning a lot of heads the company executives maintained a silent vow. The Global PR team of the company has now shared an official statement that addresses the innovative device.

    Xiaomi’s Addressal

The Xiaomi PR team addresses the uncommon double folding smartphone as its newest innovation. The press release reveals that the foldable screen of the futuristic device has been co-developed by Xiaomi and its supply chain partner. The company claims that except for the foldable screen, its software adaptation, folding mechanism, and design has been independently developed in-house. The letter notifies that Xiaomi has conducted extensive research while developing a robust folding mechanism for the upcoming device. It also states that this modern feat is indeed a product of individual contribution from each segment of the industrial chain.

Xiaomi Foldable Smartphone Design and Launch Date

The double folding smartphone from Xiaomi has a striking look with thin bezels on all sides. The device when in its folded state is pocketable and easy to carry like any conventional smartphone. However, as soon as the foldable screen on its either side is unfolded it transforms into a large screen tablet. This aspect of the device opens up a whole new world of possibilities what a portable device can deliver.

Unluckily, Xiaomi has not revealed the launch date of the double folding smartphone. Though it is likely that the company publically showcases such a device at the upcoming MWC which is scheduled for 25-28 February.

You can read the full letter below.

Xiaomi’s Global PR Team official statement: The double folding smartphone is the latest innovation by Xiaomi. One of the key components of the phone, the flexible folding screen, is co-developed by Xiaomi and its supply chain partner. Aside from the screen, its design, folding mechanism and MIUI adaptation are independently developed by us.

Xiaomi is first in the world to present a double folding smartphone and has conquered the technical challenges posed in its three different form factors – double folded, single folded, and tablet form. Prior to finding the best solution, Xiaomi has conducted extensive research and experiments to develop a robust folding mechanism that will allow the flexible screen to withstand mechanical stress.

Each innovation is the result of joint, cumulative R&D efforts from supply chain partners and the device manufacturer. It is misguided to think a folding screen can be easily turned into a folding smartphone without significant breakthroughs in technology. Each segment of the industrial chain has its unique contribution. Xiaomi believes that innovative products and great user experience are made possible with sound collaboration and participation from all parties.

  • OnePlus Will Showcase A 5G Smartphone At MWC 2019

OnePlus Will Showcase A 5G Smartphone At MWC 2019

The Mobile World Congress or MWC will kick off on the 25th of February 2019.  This years show is primarily focused on 5G.  5G has also been the focus of the tech industry since mid 2018. This year however, there may finally be devices that will support the fifth generation of mobile networks aka 5G.

OnePlus, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, had promised to release a 5G enabled device in 2019. And OnePlus has confirmed that a prototype will be available to try and experience the future of mobile networks.

    OnePlus’s statement reads:

OnePlus, at Qualcomm’s booth (Hall 3 Stand 3E10), invites all to connect and communicate with our community over a 5G network. Attendees will also be able to experience the capabilities of 5G gaming on a OnePlus 5G prototype. Keep an eye out for the limited-edition Qualcomm x OnePlus pin badge, only available at the OnePlus stand

OnePlus 5G Device, What We Know?

This OnePlus 5G device will not just be a prototype, OnePlus plans on releasing the device in a few months. The device will have some flagship level specifications. It would feature the Snapdragon 855 and the Qualcomm X50 chip to support 5G networks. The device may also be a little thick, as the 5G modem requires more space inside. OnePlus said last year that this device will not be the OnePlus 7, but rather a separate series altogether, so it may not be available in high volumes, and ,ay just end up being a limited edition device.

Also read: Nokia 9 Leaked Through Android Enterprise Listing

The OnePlus 5G prototype that will be showcased. may not end up being the final product that will launch later this year. The device will also be considerably more expensive. The cost of equipping a smartphone with 5G capable chips is expensive at this point so expect a US $200 to US $300 ( roughly Rs. 14000 to Rs. 20,000) difference in the price. This would mean the Indian price of the OnePlus 5G smartphone may be around Rs. 60,000.

  • Fitbit Working On Kids Friendly Fitness Trackers

Fitbit Working On Kids Friendly Fitness Trackers

Fitbit is well known for its wearables range, and while it has launched a lot of models over the years, none of them were exactly focused on the ‘youth’ sector. This may change soon, because the company is currently designing a fitness tracker that is targeted towards children.

    Design

According to Technobuffalo, the exclusive images of the kid-friendly fitness tracker have been revealed. This looks to be a completely different line of products in comparison to the Fitbit Ace, which released last year. Also, the Ace was more of a smart band, rather than a fitness tracker. The new wearables have a significantly larger monochrome screen, and more a kid friendly design. Available in two colours, blue and pink as seen in the images.

    Features

Brighter colours, combined with a ‘seemingly’ rugged design will make the new Fitbit band extremely suited for a young audience.  The Fitbit band is expected to have similar features to the Fitbit Ace. This includes long battery life, activity tracking and some kind of water resistance.

  • Nokia 9 Leaked Through Android Enterprise Listing

Nokia 9 Leaked Through Android Enterprise Listing

The next Nokia flagship, the Nokia 9 has been leaked into oblivion. The smartphone has been much anticipated, mostly due to its Penta-camera setup. It was earlier leaked then announced that the smartphone will make an appearance at the Mobile World Congress or MWC 2019 in Barcelona this month. But more details about the device hadn’t been confirmed. That was until now. The official Android Enterprise listing has seemingly confirmed the existence of the  Nokia 9.

The Android Enterprise listing also confirmed some of the specifications of the device and how the device is going to look like, at least from the front. The listing seems to have been taken down now. This is the first time an official listing has been found. This confirms the fact that the launch of the device is imminent.

    Nokia 9 Specifications

The Nokia 9 is the newest flagship by the legendary brand. According to Android Enterprise listing, It will feature a 6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2960 x 1440 px. There will be no notch or punch hole in sight, due to the bezels on the top and bottom. Under the hood, the device will have a Snapdragon 845 SoC, which is a year old at this point. What is surprising is the existence of 4GB of RAM with 128GB of Storage. This refutes the earlier leaks claiming the device will have more RAM. However, there is a possibility that there will be a variant with more RAM and storage. The device will have Android 9 Pie with Android One certification on board.

The highlight of the phone will be the five cameras at the back. It was reported last year that Light and Nokia are working on a multiple camera setup for smartphones. This seems to be it, with the Nokia 9 having the advantage of Light’s computational photography. The lenses and their specs are unknown at this point, but there is a 41MP or higher sensor expected in the device. One interesting feature will be the introduction of the In-Display Fingerprint scanner in the Nokia 9. The phone will also support NFC for mobile payments.

The Nokia 9 is expected to be followed by a 5G equipped, Snapdragon 855 featuring model later this year. The pricing is not known yet, but expect the device to have a high price tag. The smartphone is expected to arrive in India a few weeks after the official launch at MWC.

  • Nubia Might Show Off Its Foldable Smartphone At MWC 2019

Nubia Might Show Off Its Foldable Smartphone At MWC 2019

The Mobile World Congress is one of the biggest technology events that happen all year. Many companies get a chance to show off their next revolutionary idea or concept. This year too at MWC 2019 in Barcelona, it is expected that the focus will all be on two things. One is 5G and the other is Foldable smartphones. It is all but confirmed that Samsung and Huawei will showcase their foldable phones at the event. But there is another company that is now confirmed to make an entry as well. Nubia, the Chinese smartphone maker is all set to showcase a foldable smartphone.

Nubia started as a ZTE subsidiary, became an independent company a while ago. The official account of Nubia Smartphones sent out a tweet saying “Flex Your Life”. It is not clear what the brand will showcase at the event, but it may be the Nubia Alpha shown off at IFA last year. It may be that the device is an entirely new product altogether which we currently don’t know much about. There hasn’t really been a leak for a foldable smartphone Nubia is working on, so it may be only the Alpha at the event.

    Nubia Foldable Smartphone Specifications

Nubia Showcased the Nubia Alpha last year at the IFA. The Alpha may or may not make it to the MWC this year. But the foldable smartphone is expected to be a flagship level device. The device is expected to have a Flexible-OLED display, which can fold into half at will. The smartphone may also run on the latest Snapdragon 855 coupled with 6GB or 8GB of RAM.

Also read: Limited Edition Galaxy S10+ With 12GB RAM To Be Available On March 15th

In terms of optics, Nubia could use a dual camera set-up on one side to function as a main and selfie camera. The Nubia foldable smartphone is also expected to be expensive. Rumors say that it can reach up to a price of $1000. Manufacturing of foldable smartphones is expensive and may have a high cost for the early adopters. The device may launch later this year with all the bugs ironed out.

  • Huawei’s Upcoming AR Glasses Will Integrate With Its Smartwatch

Huawei’s Upcoming AR Glasses Will Integrate With Its Smartwatch

Richard Yu, Huawei CEO announced last year that they are working on AR glasses that are compatible with a smartphone. Having said that, Huawei also revealed that they will unveil their AR glasses by the end of 2018, or in 2019.

    About The Patent

However, a newly published patent reveals that Huawei is trying to pair the AR glasses with a smartwatch, not a smartphone. The patent indicates that the smartwatch can be attached to the glasses. The patent for “Eyeglass frame” was published by the World Intellectual Property Organization. According to the patent, the device is a lightweight, discrete and a relatively inexpensive AR headset.

    Smartwatch Compatibility

It is interesting to note that the glasses don’t have any camera, display or communication means installed. For all these functions, you may need to have your smartwatch with you. Furthermore, the glasses have an adapter and a mirror to reflect the display towards the user. The adapter is present close to the smartwatch. The new AR glasses also support audio playback.

Also Read: The Google Pixel 4 To Have Improved Dual SIM Support

As per source, the smartwatch can be only attached in a single direction. The display of the smartwatch has to face inwards and the camera has to face outwards. It also has capabilities to record the user’s movements. For the AR glasses, a transparent, as well as a semi-transparent optical element, can be used. Huawei hasn’t released or even hinted at a smartwatch with a camera, so we will have to wait for a smartwatch with a camera first.

  • Google Pixel 3A Spotted On Geekbench

Google Pixel 3A Spotted On Geekbench

Google Pixel is a range of consumer electronic devices developed by Google that run either Android or Chrome operating system. Late last year, the company launched its third iterations of the Pixel smartphones in the form of Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Soon after the launch of the devices, the internet was flooded with news about affordable variants of the same. Previously a hands-on video of an unreleased Google device, allegedly the Pixel 3 Lite was exposed online. Unfortunately, that device has not seen the light of the day till now. Another low specced variant of the Google Pixel 3, the Pixel 3A has been spotted on Geekbench revealing its key specifications.

    Google Pixel 3A Specifications

The Geekbench listing was first uploaded on 10 February and it clearly specifies the name of the device which is Google Pixel 3A. The device packs the ‘MSM8953’ SoC which is the codename for Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC. The chipset comprises of an Adreno 506 GPU and an Octa-Core CPU which has the base frequency of 1.8 GHz.

In terms of memory, the Google Pixel 3A has 2 GB of RAM which is likely to be paired with 32 GB or 64 GB of inbuilt storage. Like past Pixel smartphones, the upcoming device is also assumed to miss out on the option for memory expansion via an external card. Noteworthy, the Google Pixel 3A gets a single-core score of 732 points and a multi-core score of 3184 points.  Although the scores of the upcoming Google device seem unimpressive, it is noteworthy that Pixel smartphones run on vanilla Android and have no bloatware applications installed. Therefore, the device can work well in terms of real-world performance.

Going by the specifications of the device, it is expected to be priced between the US $ 300-400 price bracket.

Google Is Working On A Pixel Smartwatch According To A New Job Listing

Google fans may not have to wait too long for the release of the new Pixel Smartwatch. This is because of speculations that they may be already working on it, or at least they’ve started working on it. Recently, Google acquired Fossil’s smartwatch tech, which hints at the fact that the company might actually announce its smartwatch soon. On top of that, a job listing has been found in the hardware division of the same company. And yes, you guessed it right. The job listing indicates that Google is looking for a Vice President, Hardware Engineering and a Wearable Design Manager.

    About The Job Listing

This is is a clear indication that Google is already working in the smartwatch domain, and therefore looking for employees to work under its wearable department. As per the job description, “As the VP of Hardware Engineering for Wearables, you’ll work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership team for Google Hardware and will be responsible for the design, development, and shipment of all Google’s Wearable products. You will lead and enable the effectiveness of a large engineering organization primarily based in Mountain View to develop multiple next-generation wearable products simultaneously.”

Google has also tied up with big brands like LG and Tag Heuer to indicate that it may provide their own OS, called WearOS which may power the smartwatches. WearOS is rumoured to be compatible with both Android and iOS. Also, Google buying Fossil Tech for $40 million suggests that the first Pixel smart wearable may be inspired by a Fossil design. With just the Pixel Buds in the wearables category, Google may be looking towards stepping up its game against other big competitors like Apple.
