Google fans may not have to wait too long for the release of the new Pixel Smartwatch. This is because of speculations that they may be already working on it, or at least they’ve started working on it. Recently, Google acquired Fossil’s smartwatch tech, which hints at the fact that the company might actually announce its smartwatch soon. On top of that, a job listing has been found in the hardware division of the same company. And yes, you guessed it right. The job listing indicates that Google is looking for a Vice President, Hardware Engineering and a Wearable Design Manager.

About The Job Listing

This is is a clear indication that Google is already working in the smartwatch domain, and therefore looking for employees to work under its wearable department. As per the job description, “As the VP of Hardware Engineering for Wearables, you’ll work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership team for Google Hardware and will be responsible for the design, development, and shipment of all Google’s Wearable products. You will lead and enable the effectiveness of a large engineering organization primarily based in Mountain View to develop multiple next-generation wearable products simultaneously.”

Google has also tied up with big brands like LG and Tag Heuer to indicate that it may provide their own OS, called WearOS which may power the smartwatches. WearOS is rumoured to be compatible with both Android and iOS. Also, Google buying Fossil Tech for $40 million suggests that the first Pixel smart wearable may be inspired by a Fossil design.
