The iPhone 6s Finally Makes Its Tech Carpet Entry

The moment has arrived, when Apple finally reveals its iPhone 6s smartphone. We have been covering all sorts of rumours and reports about this handset the moment we got wind of it. Price, display, specifications and software – we’ve heard it all, and now is that moment of truth where we find out what this hype is all about and most importantly, whether it’s been worth it. Their opening statement is this:

“The only thing that’s changed is everything.”

Let’s start with the most obvious – the price. Earlier reports suggested that the iPhone 6s would arrive at around 699 euros which is Rs.52,084 approximately, for the 16GB version, 799 euros which is Rs.59,529 approximately, for the 64GB version and 899 euros which is Rs.66,980 approximately for the 128GB version. Here are the final numbers: the 16GB version is priced at $199, the 64GB version is $299 and the 128GB version is $399.

    x iPhone 6s 3

Few exciting things we now know about the new iPhone is that they will feature animated wallpapers and that the Rose Gold colour variant we were anticipating is here! Now it’s up to you if you think rose gold is fashionable enough for you, because the ‘cool’ new iPhone definitely thinks it is.

It comes with a brand new glass encasing this time, with the Ion-X and not the usual Sapphire Glass, and a new Taptic Engine which can be used to navigate the UI.

    iPhone 6s 15

So, it was said that the new iPhone will have an updated 3D Force Touch technology – meaning that the sensors would be taking into account three different types of touch rather than two. This is also true. Apple has confirmed the 3D Force Touch feature, that makes  photos, emails, Messages, etc pop up on your display. You just need to press on an app to jump right into a feature. This feature also allows you to use apps and be active on them without even opening them.

They’ve also mentioned that the phone will be running on the new iOS 9 and the smartphone will come integrated with the new A9 chip.

    iPhone 6s 12

Let’s talk about something that the iPhone is most applauded for – its camera. The iPhone 6 Plus has had an 8MP camera with an optical image stabilization feature that made it the phone with game changing photography abilities. Well, the iPhone 6s is better than that – it has an all new iSight 12MP camera with deep trench isolation. That’s it. iPhone just won. The 12MP camera will now allow you to record videos in 4K resolution.

    iPhone 6s 5

That was the rear camera, but the iPhone’s front camera, which is as big a star as the primary camera, now comes at 5 megapixels and full HD resolution, allowing better FaceTime and selfie opportunities to users. The front camera also comes with a true tone Retina Flash feature. The 3D Touch feature also extends itself into the still camera pictures by animating the photos into video, called Live Photos, which can also have sound.

“These are regular photos — we extend the capture moment just before and after.”

Speaking about connectivity the iPhone 6s comes with 2X faster WiFi and 23 LTE bands. They’ve also mentioned that the new iCloud storage pricing will be as follows: 50gb for 99 cents a months, 200GB for 2.99/mot 1TB for 9.99/mo.

    iPhone 6s 20

Now in the midst of all this they’ve also announced a small little ‘neighborly app’ that allows Android users to switch to the iPhone’s iOS.

“You can recycle your Android phone for free at any Apple Store,” says the app.

To conclude, we can accumulate all the major features and say that the iPhone 6s comes with the 3D Force Touch technology, is made with a 7000 series aluminum body and a new cover glass, a 64 bit A9 chip with M9, a second gen touch ID, has an advanced LTE and faster Wi-Fi, 12MP iSight camera with 4K Video, 5MP FaceTime HD resolution with retina flash and Live Photos. Phew.

    x iPhone 6s 2

The iOS 9 will be available next week starting on the 16th of September 2015 and for Pre Order on the 12th of September.

  • New iPad Pro Might Come With a Keyboard and Force Touch

New iPad Pro Might Come With a Keyboard and Force Touch

Apple had launched its first generation 9.7 inch iPad in April 2010, followed by the iPad mini with a 7.9 inch display in October 2012. Now, according to reports, Apple is planning to launch the new iPad Pro with a 12.9 inch display this year, at their upcoming event on the 9th of September 2015.

    apple ipad plus

Further sources have suggested that the iPad Pro could have a 2732 x 2048 pixel resolution and might have design aspects similar to the iPad Air. 9to5mac says that the iPad Pro will “literally look like a big iPad.” Other design features say that it will also have an aluminum shell, a FaceTime and iSight camera.

This device is also expected to come with the Force Touch technology, that Apple is planning to introduce in the next set of iPhones – iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. This is what 9to5mac says about the new iPad Pro:

“The stylus will open up the door to enhanced drawing and design apps on the new iPad, and the integration with the Force Touch screen will allow the stylus and the iPad Pro to work differently based on the levels of pressure applied by the stylus to the iPad’s display.”

Apple is apparently designing the iPad Pro to be compatible with a Bluetooth keyboard and is also allegedly working on a revamped keyboard accessory for the iPad Pro. However, there is no further information on this front, and we’ll just have to wait for the 9th of September to see what Apple Inc. has to offer us this time.

  • iPhone 6s and 6s Plus Might Come With the Same Old Storage Options

iPhone 6s and 6s Plus Might Come With the Same Old Storage Options

We’re all waiting for Apple to release its upcoming iPhone 6s and 6s plus on the 9th of September at its event. There have been a bunch of rumours floating around, about the two devices and the latest one is that a memo that was being passed around at KGI Securities has been leaked, and suggests that the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will be arriving with the same storage options as the current generation – 16GB, 64GB and 128GB.

    iPhone-6-side-screen-concept

Furthermore, the iPhone camera, which is already pretty cool, is going to be upgraded to wait-for-it 12 megapixels. This means that the new iPhone will be able to capture 4k videos and will thus catch up with perhaps, the latest Sony Xperia Z5 Premium.

Apart from this, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are expected to come with Force Touch technology and an A9 chipset. However, the RAM will reportedly be the same. With September 11th 2015 having been claimed as the pre-order date, we can just wait and watch what Apple has this time.

  • Huawei Brings Out Mate S; Introduces Force Touch Ahead of Apple

Huawei Brings Out Mate S; Introduces Force Touch Ahead of Apple

All this while, we have been talking about Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6s which is expected to feature the Force Touch technology. But guess who just beat Apple to it? The Chinese company – Huawei. It has released it’s new Mate S with the Force Touch technology.

    huawei mate s force-touch

Well, let’s give Huawei some credit of its own too, because apart from the force touch, this phone also has many other quirky features that are perhaps exclusive to this model. For example, it has a “hard pressing” base for the screen which helps to bring up app shortcuts and multi-tasked apps, it can also zoom on portions of photos, and very interestingly can also use the screen as a set of weighing scales.

Now as if that wasn’t enough, Huawei has a new technology whereby the Mate S’ touch screen is not only ‘finger-friendly’ but also ‘knuckle-friendly’. This phone features the first ever, Knuckle Sense 2.0, which allows you to use your knuckles on the display for different actions such as – cropping photos or launching apps. All this can be done with a knuckle-scribbled letter shortcut.

What’s more? This smartphone also has a new-generation digit decipherer. So, just a vertical slide across the fingerprint sensor and you will be able to see your notifications, and if you horizontally slide across the fingerprint sensor, you can scroll through images. And there’s still more! This feature can also act as a selfie trigger.

    huawei mate s

Tired? Too bad. We still have to talk about the display and design of the Mate S. The Mate S comes with a 5.5 inch display and 401ppi sharpness, it also comes with a full metal “dual diamond cut” unibody build. The screen has a 2.5D curve and the thickest point of this phone is just 2.65mm. Huawei has also reportedly compared the Mate S’s compact nature to the iPhone 6’s. By stating that, although the display size is the same, the Huawei model will have a smaller overall footprint.

On the camera front, it has a 13MP camera sensor with an optical image stabilization on the rear and also comes with an “anti-scratch” sapphire glass on the lens. The battery guarantees a days worth of power with 2 hours of talk time after just 10 minutes of charging, which is apparently five times faster than the iPhone 6.

The phone comes with a dual SIM support, and in four colour variants of pink, champagne, grey and gold. There are also two storage variations of the Huawei Mate S – the grey and champagne handsets with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage will be priced at 649 Euros which is approximately Rs. 48,277, while the gold and pink versions are the premium editions, with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage and will be priced at 699 Euros which is approximately Rs. 51,998. The phone will go on sale in the United Kingdom in September while pre-orders will begin on the 15th of September onwards.

Will Apple win this race? Stay tuned to our website to find out more.

  • New Leaked Video of the Apple iPhone 6s Tells All

New Leaked Video of the Apple iPhone 6s Tells All

This is perhaps the most exciting leak for today – the much anticipated iPhone 6S has now been leaked. There is a video and some images showing us all we need to know, about the upcoming iPhone’s exciting features, such as, the Force Touch and the A9 chipset.

The images are said to reveal an iPhone 6s logic board with components such as the rear shell and battery, both of which enable the device to display a screen showing a gear icon. The video shows us the boot up process, logic board, LTE baseband modem and its radio frequency transceiver chip.

The first feature that we are most excited about, is perhaps the Force Touch, but the device that has been leaked does not prove the existence of the feature yet. However, there are some differences that have been noticed in this device, as compared to the iPhone 6, such as the shielding on the rear of the display being glued in place rather than screwed in.

Secondly, the pictures apparently also suggest that the iPhone 6s logic board will include Qualcomm’s WTR3925 radio frequency transceiver chip, in order to pair with the new modem for better cellular network.

Last but not the least, the pictures received by the source unfortunately do not show the presence of an A9 chip. The logic board seems to be a pre-production product unit and hence is said to be missing the A9 stamp and markings that could have revealed how much RAM is included in the package.

All this information however, has not been confirmed by Apple itself. So we will just have to wait until September 9th to see the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. The event is also rumoured to feature announcements including a revamped Apple TV with support for Siri control and third-party apps.

This information was revealed in a listing that appeared on OppoMart.

    Huawei Mate S

The Force Touch technology is also said to feature on Apple’s upcoming smartphone next month – iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. It was first introduced by Apple with the Macbook. This feature allows a device to differentiate between a light and strong touch and reacting accordingly. Other secifications for the Mate S, that have been revealed are – home-grown Kirin 935 SoC, 5.7-inch (1080 x 1920 resolution) display, 3GB RAM, and 64GB of expandable internal memory. A 20MP rear cameraand an 8MP front camera.

  • Here’s How Force Touch Will Work on the iPhone 6s

Here’s How Force Touch Will Work on the iPhone 6s

Back in March, when Apple unveiled its new MacBook it brought out minor tweaks which would soon turn out to be major innovations of the future.

Along with the MacBook came the USB Type-C, their refined Battery tech and most importantly, Force Touch technology. It was the first time, the three elements had been introduced by a major commercial company.

    Apple Macbook Pro Air 2

Thanks to several leaks, it has now been confirmed that the next iPhone will also include some of these elements. We know that the trackpad of the MacBook uses the Force Touch, but how will it be implemented on the iPhone 6s?

Simply put, it is the mechanism which senses pressure. It is an entirely novel innovation that merges the previously released Multi-Touch with force sensors. That means besides sensing the multiple points of contact on your screen, the new feature can also gauge the amount of pressure put on each contact; detecting the subtle difference between the quantity of pressure imposed.

    Apple MacBook Force Touch

The current generation of MacBook’s use a ‘Diving Board’ design. The top part of the trackpad remains stable, any part of the lower end can be used to click or right click. The new Force Touch trackpad, gets four new sensors – allowing you to click using any part of the designated surface.

Here’s how the upcoming iPhone is expected to use the technology :

To enhance your music experience: Now, instead of clicking the actions button on the right side of each track listing, one can just deep press on the listing for a song and immediately options to add the song to your playlist or to listen to it later, will appear.

Shortcuts are said to become even shorter: The user can now apparently just press the phone on the app icon and be directly navigated to the Voicemail tab or even the Favourite or For You tabs.

Navigation can be simpler: With just a touch on the destination, one is said to be able to directly start navigating. So, instead of clicking on the navigation logo and then clicking another button to actually start navigation, one can get direct navigation with a single touch.

Some other features: One is said to be able to view or preview webpage links, address or contact names, maps, definitions to words etc directly, with the use of Force Touch.

Reports suggest that Apple plans to expand the Force Touch technology by incorporating it beyond their core apps and operating system for developers to be able to ship iOS 9 App Store apps. Apart from this, the new and rumoured 12.9 inch iPads are also said to feature the Force Touch.

The expected unveiling date of the iPhone and new iOS-based Apple TV is said to be on the 9th of September 2015.

  • Apple Begins Manufacturing the New iPhone With ‘Force Touch’

Apple Begins Manufacturing the New iPhone With ‘Force Touch’

According to a new report, Apple has started the manufacturing process for the new iPhone. We’re talking about the iPhone 6s which will be arriving this September. The Force Touch feature, first introduced in the Apple Watch and the new 13-inch MacBook, has been expected to be included in the new iPhone for a few months now.

‘Force Touch’ is a feature that detects the level of force in a tap and responds accordingly. For example, a light tap on the screen will perform another task than a hard tap. Tiny electrodes surrounding the Retina display sense the difference in the amount of pressure applied on screen. Thus, a user can perform simple tasks such as fast-forwarding a movie or using pressure to zoom in on a map with ease.

Apple begins production from the first of July. The company expects the production to go smoothly due to the similarities in design between the new and existing iPhone 6. Apple has spent more than two years trying to perfect ‘Force Touch’, which will enhance the user experience when using pressure-sensitive displays.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the next-gen iPhone would be thicker than the existing iPhone due to the integration of ‘Force Touch’ feature. Also, Apple is reportedly integrating support for the feature in the beta versions of iOS 9, which will allow developers to make use of ‘Force Touch’ in navigation and media controls.

  • Force Touch and New Casing Material to Make iPhone 6s Wider, Taller, Stronger

Force Touch and New Casing Material to Make iPhone 6s Wider, Taller, Stronger

Earlier this year, Apple’s next-generation iPhone was reported to come with the ‘Force Touch’ feature, which made a debut with the Apple Watch and the new 13-inch MacBook. The inclusion was widely expected and now, a new report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities has affirmed its existence stating that the enforcement of Force Touch on iPhone 6s might even add to the thickness of the device.

Force Touch is a brainy touch feature which senses the level of force applied on the screen. It uses tiny electrodes around the flexible Retina display to distinguish between a light tap and a deep press, which trigger instant access to a range of contextually specific controls. This feature adds the possibility of embedding more gestures onto the device.

    iPhone 6 Plus 13

Kuo argued that Force Touch will lead to the forthcoming iDevice (tentatively titled iPhone 6s) being wider, taller, and thicker. It is speculated to increase the dimensions of the phone by 0.15 millimetres crosswise as well as in length, and 0.2mm in thickness.

As per Kuo, Apple will employ Series 7000 Aluminium, introduced with Apple Watch, on the next-generation iPhones. The custom metal is 60 percent stronger than the regular aluminium and has just one-third the density of stainless steel.

Along with presenting fact about the redesigned casing material, Ming-Chi reiterates that the iPhone 6s will be coming in a rose gold colour option. He also believes that few more colour options available with the phone will be yellow gold and dark space grey.

  • Along with a Stylus, Next iPad Will Come with Advanced Features like NFC and Force Touch

Along with a Stylus, Next iPad Will Come with Advanced Features like NFC and Force Touch

The idea of including the hand-held Stylus accessory was never supported by Steve Jobs. But things have taken a different route altogether from Steve’s ideologies. We earlier came across KGI Securities’ prediction of Apple planning to bring out a stylus accessory for its future iPad. Now, a person familiar with the next iPad has reaffirmed this fact.

According to the source quoted by Apple Insider, the Cupertino-based tech giant is building an all-new iPad with a 12.9-inch display. Temporarily titled as ‘iPad Pro’, the tablet will feature a brand new set of features like a Stylus, NFC radio, and many more used in the  Apple Watch and the latest MacBook.

If the source is to be believed, then Apple may embed NFC radio in its next iPad, allowing it to serve as a payment receiving terminal for Apple Pay. Another added benefit of NFC is simplified pairing, which could help connect the speculated stylus as well. There are also speculations of the stylus being connected through Bluetooth, but nothing can be confirmed as yet.

    ipad

The inclusion of Force Touch indicates, that the future iPad would be smart enough to sense the difference between a deep tap and a soft tap. It opens a space of possibilities for new commands and combinations.

The USB-C port is the latest development included by Apple on the 12-inch MacBook. The compact, universal USB port is fast and connects to all your devices whether phone or charger. The iPad Pro is expected to have both the new USB-C port and the standard Lightning connector.

Another major feature to beef up the upcoming device is the next-gen A-series processor. There is no wording on the exact version of the processor, but considering the other high-end features, the processor will also be the latest.

For now, these are just reports and the final product may pack some different features from what are anticipated. For confirmation, we will have to wait for an official announcement.

  • Apple’s New Video Tutorials Demonstrate Apple Watch at its Best

Apple’s New Video Tutorials Demonstrate Apple Watch at its Best

Since the day Apple Watch was unveiled, it has received a heavy number of mixed reviews. Some say it is an overpriced device, while others suggest it will change the way the general audience looks at wearables. The Cupertino-based giant has decided to give its final customers a closer look at the Apple Watch and has released four new videos that demonstrate the Apple Watch at its best.

The videos describe how the Apple’s first smart watch can make your day-to-day tasks a lot easier.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=LHdVkPrdRYg

The company recently updated its Apple Watch web page with four new videos. The clips walk the users through several features of the Watch giving a fair idea about how to use it and what it can do. The first one of the four is an introductory clip that says “Welcome to Apple Watch.” The 4:44 minutes video is dedicated to providing an elaborate detail of its hardware and software concepts like Messages, Digital crown, Force Touch and Faces. The video narrates the power of Apple Watch and how it is a must-have accessory for every iPhone user.

The other three videos are comparatively shorter than the introductory video and finishes within 2 minutes. Each of them focuses on one key feature and demonstrates how to customize the watch. The Faces speaks about how with a long press, all the watch faces come up and you can make a selection from a list. Tap any to make it the new face and customise it as you desire like changing hand colours, adding calendar and weather, and more.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=N6ezjg6-0hU

Similarly, Messages and Digital Touch give an insight into the functionality of the other features. Messages give a tour of sending audio and text messages along with numerous emoji options. The Digital Touch caters to your social habits. The side button below the Digital crown gives access to your friends. You can add contacts, send sketches, taps, messages, and heartbeats to your contacts, and of course, you can ring them any time using the Watch.

Meanwhile, Apple has made public only 4 of the videos, while the official web page depicts 7 more guided tours each with “Coming Soon” tag. These include Phone Calls, Siri, Maps, Music, Activity, Apple Pay and workout. Apple Watch will go on sale on 24th of this month. Needless to say, we’re extremely excited to get our hands on Apple’s first wearable.

You can check out all the videos here.

  • Why Apple MacBook’s Force Touch is the Trackpad of the Future

Why Apple MacBook’s Force Touch is the Trackpad of the Future

Steve Jobs had a vision, years ago, that the mouse needed only one button, and it seems his vision is finally realised with the newest addition to its ecosystem, the Apple MacBook. One of the most nerdy aspects about the newly unveiled device is the fact that it comes with a Force Touch trackpad. Force Touch was first introduced months ago with the Apple Watch.

So, what exactly is ‘Force Touch’ technology?

    Apple MacBook Force Touch

Simply put, it is the mechanism which senses pressure. It is an entirely novel innovation that merges the previously released Multi-Touch with force sensors. That means besides sensing the multiple points of contact on your screen, the new feature can also gauge the amount of pressure put on each contact; detecting the subtle difference between the quantity of pressure imposed. This makes the technology infused devices smarter than any other smartphones and smartwatches in the world.

The current generation of MacBook’s use a ‘Diving Board’ design. The top part of the trackpad remains stable, any part of the lower end can be used to click or right click. The new Force Touch trackpad, gets four new sensors – allowing you to click using any part of the designated surface.

    Apple Force Touch

Through the sensors on the trackpad of the gadgets, it can judge a light tap and a deep press, bringing a broad range of contextual controls right to your fingertips. The actions can be categorised in three forms: Force click, Accelerator and Pressure-sensing drawing.

    force touch

The Force click gives users access to different websites without switching to the other pages. It can bring up the Wikipedia by clicking a word, preview a file in the Finder, and create a new Calendar by applying a little push on the trackpad. You will be in control of adding new shortcuts to apps, such as bringing up the a map of the location just by force clicking the address.

    accelerator force touch

The next is accelerator that accelerators the speed of a QuickTime movie. Press harder to fast-forward the shot quickly and if you wish to proceed gradually, steadily apply force on the trackpad. One can also zoom in Maps through the same tactic.

    fource touch drawing

The next forte of Force Touch trackpad is pressure-sensing drawing. Draw a signature on the device just like a pen on paper. Put more pressure for a bold stroke and press lightly to get a thin line. This drawing can be used as an attachment for emails.

Apple has slipped the technology in Macbooks and the Apple Watch for now, but it has been learnt that the next iPhone is likely to come with the same feature.

  • Report : Next iPhone to Come in a Pink Colour Variant and Feature Force Touch

Report : Next iPhone to Come in a Pink Colour Variant and Feature Force Touch

The Apple event on Monday saw the introduction of new Force Touch technology on the MacBook. The revolutionary tool is incorporated on the Apple Watch and the new 12-inch MacBook, that looks insanely sleek and light. The tech giant has plans to expand the responsive touch technology to the iPhone lineup and according to a recent report by the Wall Street Journal, users may see the new Force Touch in the next iPhone.

Force Touch uses tiny electrodes around the flexible Retina display to distinguish between a light tap and a deep press, and trigger instant access to a range of contextually specific controls. This new addition brings the possibility to spawn fresh applications to the device.

    Apple Macbook 5

The news of Force Touch inclusion on the next-gen smartphone is not much a surprise as the company has followed the same approach for multi-touch display debuted in 2007. Post the launch of multi-touch technology on iPhone, MacBook joined the league to enclose the same mechanism.

The international publishing daily also mentioned the new colour option Apple may be offering with the next-gen iPhone. The report stated that users may choose a pink iPhone this time, but it is presently in testing mode.

Tentatively titled ‘iPhone 6s’ is anticipated to house the same features found in the other ‘s’ iterations. It will sport an upgraded 2GB RAM and will be shipped with an Apple SIM. With revamped features and improved tools, the next smartphone can establish as a milestone for Apple just like iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
