Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ Leaked In Lilac Purple Colour

Samsung will launch the new Galaxy S9 and S9+ at MWC 2018 on the 25th of February. Hands down two of the most anticipated smartphones of 2018, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be Samsung’s early year flagships until the Galaxy Note9 is launched in August/September. While there is hardly anything left to the imagination of a consumer, a new leak has revealed that the two new smartphones will arrive in a fascinating new colour variant.

    Samsung Galaxy S9+ Lilac Purple

In new leaked renders of the Galaxy S9 and S9+, we can see the Lilac Purple colour variants. In the times when OEMs are launching ‘limited edition’ red colour variants of their popular smartphones, Samsung’s move to launch a different colour is refreshing. The Lilac Purple will surely stand out from the ocean of black, rose gold and gold smartphones currently prevalent in the smartphone market.

A new leak claims that the Sony IMX345 will be used on the Galaxy S9+. The same can be expected for the Galaxy S9. On the bigger sibling, there will be a combination of a 12MP camera with an f/1.4 aperture and the other will be a 12MP camera with an f/2.5 aperture. We already know that the Galaxy S9 will have a 12MP camera with an f/1.5 aperture.

    Rumour Roundup:

The Galaxy S9 will have a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display while the Galaxy S9+ will have a 6.2 inch display. Both the devices will have a 2960 x 1440 px resolution.

Similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S9 will have a single 12MP SuperSpeed Dual Pixel camera. This time around, however, the camera will have an f/1.5 aperture and record super slow motion videos at 480fps. The Samsung Galaxy S9+ will become the second phone from Samsung to feature a dual-camera setup on the back after the Galaxy Note8. The Galaxy S9+ will have a 12MP camera with an f/1.4 aperture along with another 12MP camera with an f/2.5 aperture

    Case Leaks Of Galaxy S9+

Owing to the launch of the Samsung flagship phones, a lot of companies have restrained from making significant announcements. It was recently revealed that Xiaomi could skip the Mi 7 launch at MWC as well, similar to what Huawei and HTC will do. The Galaxy S9 will be priced at Rs. 69000 in India.

  • Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s Running On Snapdragon 845 To Be Launched In February

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s Running On Snapdragon 845 To Be Launched In February

Xiaomi is going to be a part of the upcoming MWC 2018. While many expect the company to launch the Xiaomi Mi 7 at the event, there are rumours that another phone could be launched before MWC. The Xiaomi Mi 2s, a refresh of the Mi Mix 2 could be launched as early as February right before MWC commences.

    Mi Mix 2s

This leak comes a tipster on Weibo. On the Chinese social media website, he claims that the Mi Mix 2s could be launched before the Mi 7. While we would have liked more information about the upcoming phone, he stops at the possible date. He does ask readers to guess which of the upcoming phones would be Xiaomi’s first Snapdragon 845-powered device.

No prizes for guessing this but, the Xiaomi Mi 7 is more likely to feature the Snapdragon 845 chipset. The Mi Mix 2s, if real, is a refresh over the Mi Mix 2 while the Mi 7 is the next flagship device that will succeed the Mi 6. Xiaomi would rather use the Snapdragon 845 for the Mi Mix 3 that will launch later in the year.

    Mi Mix 2s
    Mi Mix 2s Early Renders
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s rumours so far:

So far, there has barely been any chatter about a possible Mi Mix 2 refresh. The Mi Mix 2 was launched back in September and Xiaomi doesn’t really launch new variants of flagship devices like OnePlus does. So, a possible Mi Mix 2s launch seems improbable. However, that hasn’t stopped people to post renders of the phone.

An earlier render of the Mi Mix 2s showing a notch on the display looked a photoshopped iPhone X photo. Recently though, a new render has emerged which reveals a design worthy of a new variant.

    Mi Mix 2s
    Mi Mix 2s Render

The image shows evenly trimmed bezels all around the display. The Mi Mix 2 had a small chin which housed the front-facing camera. The front facing camera here is placed in the top right corner. It is fitted awkwardly which results in a weird notch on the top right corner. Although this looks like a design prototype that would’ve been buried in the back burner, the design does look like new and different.

There is a high chance that Xiaomi will never launch the Mi Mix 2s. However, it will be an interesting strategy especially if this render turns out to be the actual design of the phone.

  • Leaked: Moto G6 Play Renders Reveal Moto X4-Like Build

Leaked: Moto G6 Play Renders Reveal Moto X4-Like Build

Lenovo-owned Motorola will soon launch a new Moto X4 variant in India. The Moto X4 had a different build when compared to other Moto phones of 2017. The glass sandwich build was appreciated by many, and it looks like Motorola will implement that design on other devices as well. The Moto G6 Play is expected to be launched in a couple of months similar to when G5 and G5 Plus were launched in 2017.

    Moto G6 Play

New renders of the Moto G6 Play have surfaced online and the trickle-down effect of the Moto X4 seems to be in full swing. The renders reveal that the Moto G6 Play will have glass on the front and back with an aluminium frame. The ring-shaped LED flash will also return, last seen on the Moto X. Another interesting bit here is the fingerprint sensor.

Usually, the fingerprint sensor on the ‘G’ series is placed on the front in the home button. But, the Moto G6 Play is touted to have thin bezels. This means the fingerprint sensor will be placed on the back. However, according to the renders, Motorola will house the fingerprint sensor inside the ‘M’ logo which is an interesting move.

    Moto G6 Play

It also looks like the ‘Moto’ branding on the front of the device will be replaced with ‘Motorola’.

    Rumoured Specifications

    The Moto G6 Play will have a 5.7 inch display with a 1440 x 720 px resolution.

The G6 Play will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset, have 2GB or 3GB of RAM along with 16GB and 32GB storage options. As visible in the renders, the fingerprint sensor could be housed inside the ‘M’ logo on the back of the phone.

    Moto G6 Play

The Moto G6 Play will retain the single camera setup on the back and front. The LED flash, similar to the Moto X, will be ring-shaped around the camera lens.

So far, there has been no hint by the company about the launch of a smartphone. These are, after all, just renders and renders are supposed to be taken with a grain of scepticism.

  • Leaked: Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ Press Renders

Leaked: Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ Press Renders

This seems to have become a daily occurrence. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ have been leaked again, this time in their press renders. The new flagship phones from Samsung will be launched on the 25th of February, as confirmed by the company.

The image doesn’t reveal anything we did not know till now. No prizes for guessing here that the design of the phones is identical to their predecessors. The bottom bezel appears to be thinner ever so slightly. The rest remains the same, at least on the front. To the back, the components of the phone will be placed a bit differently. Again, something that we have known through weeks of renders and leaks.

    Galaxy S9
Image via: @evleaks Galaxy S9+, S9 rear components layout

The fingerprint sensor will be placed below the camera module on both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. While the Samsung Galaxy S9 will have a single camera, the Galaxy S9+ will have a vertically-placed dual-camera setup. Interestingly, the Galaxy Note8 was the first ever Samsung phone with a dual-camera setup and the cameras were placed horizontally.

    [amazon_link asins=’B06Y3GYZKW’ template=’ProductAd’ store=’igyaan-21′ marketplace=’IN’ link_id=’bb26268e-0340-11e8-9a44-df758d466e62′]

This change in the Galaxy S9+ could purely be for design purposes as the fingerprint placement has also changed. Or, it could’ve been done to have another design difference between the ‘S’ and the ‘Note’ series. The glass back remains the same and so does the button placements. It looks like Bixby button is going nowhere, hopefully, Samsung will let us remap it.

One thing that is a bit bothering are the bezels on the left and right side of the screen. This looks like an error more than anything else as the Galaxy S8 and S8+ had a much better design with the edge display. It seems highly improbable that Samsung will go ahead with such bezels on the side.

    Rumour Roundup:

The Galaxy S9 will have a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display while the Galaxy S9+ will have a 6.2 inch display. Both the devices will have a 2960 x 1440 px resolution.

    Galaxy S9
    Leaked Galaxy S9 Dummy Video

Similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S9 will have a single 12MP SuperSpeed Dual Pixel camera. This time around, however, the camera will have an f/1.5 aperture and record super slow motion videos, probably at 960fps. The Samsung Galaxy S9+ will become the second phone from Samsung to feature a dual-camera setup on the back after the Galaxy Note8. Similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note8, the Galaxy S9+ will have a wide-angle and a telephoto lens setup.

    Galaxy S9
    Case Leaks Of Galaxy S9+

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are expected to be the most sought after flagship phones at least in the early part of 2018. Let’s hope the side bezels remain constrained to the images and the real deal look more like their predecessors.

  • Nokia 9 With Dual Cameras And 18:9 Display Leaked

Nokia 9 With Dual Cameras And 18:9 Display Leaked

Nokia appears to have big plans for MWC 2018. The Mobile World Congress is scheduled to take place in Barcelona from the 26th February to 1st March. Nokia is rumoured to be launching two smartphones and a concept phone with five camera lenses. One of the two consumer-ready phones will be the 2018 flagship, Nokia 9.

    Nokia 9

The Nokia 9 will succeed 2018’s Nokia 8 and is expected to have a modern design with thin bezels and a tall display. New renders of the smartphone have been leaked by case makers and the design looks promising. The renders reveal that the Nokia 9 will have a tine forehead and chion with almost no bezels on the sides. To the back will be a dual-camera setup, possibly by Zeiss Optics.

These leaks are in line with a previous render that surfaced a while ago. One of the standout aspects of that render was the dual-camera setup on the front. It looks like more and more smartphones in 2018 will sport dual cameras on the front as well.

    Rumour Roundup:

According to a recent FCC filing,

he Nokia 9 will have a 5.5-inch OLED display.

Under the hood, the Nokia 9 will have the Snapdragon 835 chipset and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.

    Nokia 9
    Previous Nokia 9 Renders

Powering the device will be a 3250 mAh battery with 18W fast charging. The device will run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with very little customisations.

The listing reveals a 12 MP + 13 MP dual-camera setup at the back and a 5MP front-facing camera which could be the resolution of one of the front-facing cameras.

However, FCC filing does not always reveal accurate specifications. So, the Nokia 9 is expected to debut with the Snapdragon 845 chipset since the Nokia 8 is already powered by the Snapdragon 835. Apart from that, the Nokia 9 could have a bigger screen size especially since it is expected to launch with trimmed down bezels.

The Nokia 9, along with the Nokia 1 are expected to be launched at the MWC 2018 event in a few weeks. Till then, expect more leaks and renders of the upcoming smartphones. Stay tuned for all the top news!

  • Xiaomi Mi 7 Renders Reveal Dual Cameras And A Rear Facing Fingerprint Sensor

Xiaomi Mi 7 Renders Reveal Dual Cameras And A Rear Facing Fingerprint Sensor

Xiaomi is expected to make a big announcement at the upcoming MWC 2018 and many expect it to be of the Mi 7. Xiaomi will launch the next iteration of its ‘Mi’ flagship phones in 2018 and the announcement could be made as soon as February. While one very important aspect of the upcoming device was confirmed by the company itself, there have a been a few conflicting renders and reports regarding some of the features that the Mi 7 might sport.

One such thing was the fingerprint technology. Ever since Vivo unveiled the first-ever smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor, there have been plenty of rumours of more Chinese smartphone makers adopting the Clear ID technology. A few weeks ago, two conflicting reports claimed that the Mi 7 will have an in-display fingerprint sensor while the other claimed that it will adopt Face ID-like facial recognition system owing to the popularity of AI. A new render appears to have revealed that Xiaomi will, at the least, not introduce a Clear ID fingerprint sensor in its next flagship device.

    [amazon_link asins=’B0756RFBL7′ template=’ProductAd’ store=’igyaan-21′ marketplace=’IN’ link_id=’7aa884ce-ff45-11e7-8ce3-cf4c57effd3c’]

A new render of the Mi 7 has surfaced and it reveals that the device will have a rear-facing fingerprint sensor. The image also shows a horizontally placed a dual-camera setup on the back. Unfortunately, there is no image of the front of the phone accompanying this render which means that what we have so far, are just speculations. The Mi 7 is expected to have a 6-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a bezel-less design. It will be interesting to see if Xiaomi takes the Mi Mix route and house everything in a bottom bezel or have even bezels around the display.

The build of the smartphone appears to be made of glass which means that Xiaomi could finally introduce wireless charging in its smartphone lineup. Previous renders revealed almost zero bezels around the display and a small cutout on top for the front-facing camera and sensors.

    Previous Mi 7 Renders

The company has confirmed that the Mi 7 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, and is expected to have either 6 or 8GB of RAM along with 128GB of storage which won’t be expandable. Thanks to the Snapdragon 845 chipset, the smartphone is expected to have some enhanced AI features like the Honor View10 and a facial recognition software could be one of the marquee features of the device.

The Xiaomi Mi 7 is expected to have a 19MP + 19MP dual camera setup with an f/1.7 aperture and 4X optical zoom. To the front, it is rumoured to have a 16MP camera.

  • The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Could Launch In India At Around Rs. 7000

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Could Launch In India At Around Rs. 7000

Ever since Xiaomi launched the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus, there have been reports claiming that the Redmi 5 Plus will be launched in India as the Redmi Note 5. These rumours came about through a revelation on the MIUI forums in China and from the same source, it has been seemingly confirmed that the Redmi Note 5 will indeed be launched and it might be the most inexpensive Redmi Note yet.

A report claims that the Redmi Note 5 was mentioned among the list of prizes for a contest that the company is hosting on its China MIUI forum. In the forum post, the smartphone has been priced 699 Yuan which roughly translates to about Rs. 6800. However, this could very well be a typo as the company might have intended to write ‘Redmi Note 5A’ which is priced at 699 Yuan in China.

Even if the device is priced a bit higher, Redmi Note 5 enthusiasts will be happy to know that the device in works and is expected to be launched in the coming months in China. Subsequently, India is expected to be one of the first global markets to receive the Redmi Note 5 thanks to the popularity of the Redmi Note 4.

Recently, a new render of the Redmi Note 5 was leaked which looks a bit ambitious. However, there is no denying that the Redmi Note 5 with this design might become a fan favourite as soon as it launches.

The bezels around the display are thinner than the ones found on the Redmi 5 Plus and at its price point, could have the best screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone is expected to be launched at a price similar to the Redmi Note 4 which continues to be a popular Xiaomi phone in markets like India.

  • Renders Of Huawei P20 With Triple-Camera Setup Leaked

Renders Of Huawei P20 With Triple-Camera Setup Leaked

Huawei is riding high on the success of its Mate 10 Pro lineup along with the increasing popularity of sub-brand Honor’s Honor 7X and View10. While the company has reiterated that it believes AI and machine learning is the future of smartphones, the upcoming Huawei flagship is poised to be the first of its kind smartphone in the camera department as well.

New renders of the Huawei P20 reveal a triple-camera setup at the back which will be unprecedented for a smartphone if the renders turn out to be true. Along with the astonishing triple-camera setup on the back, the renders reveal extremely thin bezels and a front-facing fingerprint sensor. Honor did that with the Honor View10 as well, fitting a front-facing fingerprint sensor on bezels almost as thin (or thick) as the OnePlus 5T.

There are almost negligible bezels on either side of the display with extremely thin forehead and chin. The smartphone will have a glass build and hopefully this time around, the company will introduce wireless charging as well.

Recently, a few leaked advertisement designs revealed that an upcoming Huawei device, presumed to be the P11 at that time, will launch with a triple-camera setup on the back. According to the advertisement, the smartphone will have a triple lens rear-facing 40MP camera, 5X hybrid zooming (which uses a digital and optical zoom for better capturing far away objects) and a 24MP front-facing camera. The camera will also be co-engineered by Leica, the same company that co-engineered the cameras for the Huawei P10 and Huawei Mate 10.

Considering the HiSilicon Kirin 970 is the best chipset by Huawei available right now, the Huawei P20 will, in all likelihood, will be powered by this chip. The Chinese smartphone maker talked up the AI capabilities of the Kirin 970 chipset and its own facial recognition technology while launching the Mate 10 Pro. While we have seen glimpses of the technology in the Honor View10, the Huawei P20 might be the first device to feature the facial recognition technology in all its glory.

If the company does go ahead with this alleged design, the addition of facial recognition will add more than just convenience. It will add an extra layer of security since the company has claimed that its technology is secure enough for data storage and bank transactions as well, similar to the iPhone X and its Face ID.

While all of this might seem far-fetched, Huawei might surprise us all and give us a glimpse of this smartphone at the ongoing CES 2018 in Las Vegas. Stay tuned for further updates.

  • Another Case Render Confirms The Design Of Samsung Galaxy S9+

Another Case Render Confirms The Design Of Samsung Galaxy S9+

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will more or less be an incremental upgrade over their predecessors but, Samsung might introduce a couple of new features in the bigger of the two phones. The presence of a dual-camera setup in the Galaxy S9+ has been rumoured for a long time and a new case render yet again reveals a similar design language and a dual-camera setup for the Galaxy S9+.

The case reveals the same fingerprint sensor and LED flash placement for the Galaxy S9+ as the other case renders. The image reveals the front of the device as well which reveals slightly smaller bezels than the Galaxy S8 which is similar to the other renders of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.

According to a recent benchmark leak, the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. According to leak, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will run Android 8.0 Oreo which is a positive, considering the company announced the Galaxy A8 and A8+ with Android 7.1.1 Nougat even though the devices will be launched in January.

    Galaxy S9+ Renders

Another report has revealed that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will have a much better and accurate iris scanner that can compete with Apple’s Face ID. The fingerprint sensor will also have a new position which will much more ergonomic and easier to reach than the Galaxy S8.

The Galaxy S9 could be launched at a price similar to the Galaxy S8+ and the Galaxy S9+ could break the thousand dollar barrier and be priced similarly to the iPhone X.

  • More Samsung Galaxy S9 Renders Reveal The Same Galaxy S8 Design

More Samsung Galaxy S9 Renders Reveal The Same Galaxy S8 Design

When the Samsung Galaxy S9 rumours started out, they promised radical changes in the upcoming flagship device. As we move closer to the launch of first try flagship of 2018, the renders and leaks are much closer to reality and we now have a fair idea as to how the Samsung Galaxy S9 might look like.

Created by Forbes contributor Gordon Kelly in collaboration with accessory maker Ghostek, the image above is similar to what we have already seen from other renders.

It has the same Infinity Display with no side bezels but the symmetrical top and bottom bezels are present, just like in the Galaxy S8. The back of the phone houses a single-lens camera, with the fingerprint sensor right below it. This has been rumoured for a while and this is just another case of a render confirming the repositioning the fingerprint sensor. The heart rate sensor and camera flash module, meanwhile, are placed on the right side of the handset.

Apparently, Ghostek is so confident this is the final design of the phone that it’s already taking orders for cases built for this design.

    Other Galaxy S9+ Renders

If Samsung goes the Google Treble route, then the Galaxy phones might get faster updates compared to the umpteen amount of time that Samsung takes to update even its flagship phones.

The Galaxy S9 could be launched at a price similar to the Galaxy S8+ and the Galaxy S9+ could break the thousand dollar barrier and be priced similarly to the iPhone X.

  • Renders Of The Bezel-Less Nokia 9 Leaked

Renders Of The Bezel-Less Nokia 9 Leaked

Ever since its return to the fore, HMD Global-owned Nokia has had a flourishing restart in the smartphone industry with a slew of launches in 2017. The most noticeable one in India was the launch of the Nokia 8 back in August with its dual-camera setup and vibrant colour variants. However, the design of the Nokia 8 did not represent the trend of 2017, thin bezels and a tall display. It appears that Nokia will rectify that with its early-2018 launch of the Nokia 9.

The image was leaked on the Chinese social networking website, Weibo and represents the design shift that Nokia will make in order to have a more modern-looking smartphone. While there are phones with a better screen-to-body ratio, the trimmed bezels will be a welcome change for all the Nokia loyalists waiting to upgrade to the Nokia 9.

The other noticeable aspect of the phone here is the front-facing dual-camera setup. We have already seen the Galaxy A8 and A8+ launching early next year which sport two cameras on the front and the Nokia 9 might be the next phone in line.

According to a recent FCC filing, the Nokia 9 will have a 5.5-inch OLED display.

Under the hood, the Nokia 9 will have the Snapdragon 835 chipset and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.

It’s impossible to tell from the picture if the Nokia 9 will have a glass back or metal. The Nokia 9 is expected to be launched on the 19th of January, although the company has not announced or hinted at any event as of now.

  • New Galaxy S9 Renders Might Be The Closest Thing To Reality So Far

New Galaxy S9 Renders Might Be The Closest Thing To Reality So Far

The Samsung Galaxy S9 will be the most talked about smartphone of early-2018. It will be a revision of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and there are conflicting reports as to how the Galaxy S9 might turn out to be. While there are leaks that suggest that it will be an incremental upgrade over the Galaxy S8 and the bigger sibling, the Galaxy S9+ will be the one packing all the new features, some suggest that there will be barely any design differences between the S9 and S9+.

A new render from a reputed online leaker suggests that the Galaxy S9 at least, won’t be that different from the Galaxy S8. The renders reveal shrunken top and bottom bezels, and a new placement for the fingerprint sensor. This will be a welcome change for all the Galaxy S9 aspirants as the Galaxy S8 and S8+ had an awkwardly placed fingerprint sensor. No matter how advanced the iris scanner will be on the Galaxy S9, a majority of users will choose to unlock their phone using the fingerprint sensor instead. However, Synaptics recently announced that it had started the mass manufacturing of its in-display fingerprint sensor with one of the top 5 OEMs. A lot of people have speculated that it could be Samsung and if this render is true, then the Galaxy S9+ could be the device which comes with this feature.

Apart from that, there is a single camera at the back which, just like the Galaxy S8, might be an incremental upgrade over its predecessor. This detail falls into place with a previous report that suggested that the Galaxy S9 will have a single camera while the Galaxy S9+ will have a dual-camera setup at the back.

The Galaxy S9 is expected to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset (for the US and South Korean market) and Exynos 9810 (for the rest of world) under the hood. The Galaxy S9 could be launched at a price similar to the Galaxy S8+ and the Galaxy S9+ could break the thousand dollar barrier and be priced similarly to the iPhone X.

  • OPPO R11S Renders Are Uncannily Similar To The OnePlus 5T

OPPO R11S Renders Are Uncannily Similar To The OnePlus 5T

OPPO has announced that the new OPPO R11S will be launched on the 2nd of November at an event in China. Even before the announcement was made, there were several renders leaked which revealed a design shift from the OPPO R11 launched earlier in 2017. What’s interesting though, is that the new press renders resemble another speculated device, the OnePlus 5T.

In the images above, you can see what the OPPO R11S might look like from all the angles. You can’t help but notice the similarities between the R11S and the OnePlus 5T here with the aspect ratio, screen size, and camera and fingerprint placement.

This however, should not come as a surprise as the OnePlus 5 looked identical to the OPPO R11 with the same dimensions, camera placement and finish of the phone. It is worth noting that OPPO is the parent organisation of OnePlus.

The launch of the OPPO R11S could signal a trickle down effect and the OnePlus 5T with a much awaited 18:9 aspect ratio and thin bezels could see the light of day in the coming weeks. The OPPO R11S is expected to have a 6-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 2160 x 1080 px resolution. Under the hood, the smartphone is expected to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, 4GB RAM and 63GB onboard storage. The OnePlus 5T is expected to have the same hardware as the OnePlus 5 and also the same camera specifications.

The OnePlus 5T is expected to be launched on the 20th of November while the R11S is confirmed for a 2nd of November launch.

  • Nokia 9 Renders Show Thin Bezels And No Headphone Jack

Nokia 9 Renders Show Thin Bezels And No Headphone Jack

Nokia has re-entered the smartphone market with a slew of Android powered phones in different price segments. Its latest entrant was the Nokia 8, the first Nokia branded Android flagship phone. The rumours of Nokia 9 have been doing the rounds for quite some time now and new renders show a 360-degree view of the smartphone.

The Nokia 8, although a flagship, has thick bezels around the display which a lot of 2017 flagships don’t. The Nokia 9 renders show a more modern look with thin bezels. The dual-camera setup retains its place and the fingerprint sensor is moved to the back. As far as rumoured specifications go, the Nokia 9 in all likeliness will feature a 5.5-inch 2880 x 1440 px AMOLED display. The phone will have Qualcomm’s MSM8998 Snapdragon 835, 4GB RAM and either 64GB or 128GB storage. Features like OZO sound, ‘Bothie’ are expected to be featured in the Nokia 9 as well since HMD Global really used these features to market the Nokia 8. One big omission in the renders is that of the 3.5mm headphone jack. After Google ditched it in its new Pixel 2 smartphones, there are rumours that other big Android phone manufacturers will follow suit.

In the photography department, there’s a vertically stacked dual-lens camera. The specifications in the camera department aren’t clear yet.

With the Nokia 8 launching just a couple of months ago, it will make sense for HMD Global to give the phone some breathing space and launch a new flagship in 2018 with the new flagship chipset, presumably Snapdragon 845. Using the Snapdragon 845 for its devices early on in 2018 might be a little tricky after reports of a deal between Samsung and Qualcomm surfaced a few days which would give Samsung exclusive access to an early batch of the new chips. There is no word on the launch of the smartphone and the company hasn’t taken to social media to drop any hints either.

  • Nokia 8 New Colour Variant Leaked

Nokia 8 New Colour Variant Leaked
