Oppo Treats The Flagship Reno Smartphone With 5G Connectivity

Earlier this year, Oppo launched the Reno smartphone lineup that consists of the ‘standard variant’ and the ’10x zoom variant’. The distinctive feature of both the handsets is a ‘shark fin’ style selfie camera which is operated via an electronic mechanism. In addition, both devices have an edge-to-edge display and sturdy construction.

According to a fresh report, the company has also developed a 5G variant of the smartphone which will first make its way to the Netherlands. The device will be commercially available in the year 2020 and will be offered in partnership T-Mobile telecom provider which will be the first 5G provider in the country.

Besides, the addition of a Qualcomm X50 5G modem, the upcoming Oppo Reno 5G is reported to have the same design and features as the previously launched ’10x zoom variant’. For reference, following are the features of the smartphone

The front of the Oppo Reno is dominated by a 6.6 inch AMOLED display that is surrounded by negligible bezels on all sides. The device does not feature any obstruction causing notch to house the selfie camera, instead, it has a shark fin style camera that has a resolution of 16 MP.

  • Vivo Is Developing Multiple Smartphones With Dual Displays

Vivo Is Developing Multiple Smartphones With Dual Displays

In the past, Chinese smartphone maker, Vivo had launched a couple of innovative smartphones which include the Vivo NEX and Vivo NEX dual-screen variant. The key highlighting feature of both the smartphones is exceptionally high screen-to-body ratio. However, as the name suggests, the NEX dual-screen variant takes the idea a step further by accommodating dual displays.

Vivo NEX Dual Display According to freshly granted patents, Vivo is developing a couple more smartphones that feature two displays. Out of which, one is placed on the front while a smaller secondary display is present on the rear. The two handsets have a similar design with the key difference being disparate camera arrangement.

Like the original Vivo NEX dual display, both the Model A and Model B in the patens have a large screen edge-to-edge display on the front. The earpiece for receiving phone calls is embedded in the thin bezel right above the display.

In terms of ports and button, the bottom of both the Vivo handsets is occupied by a USB port which is flanked by the loudspeaker and microphone grille. Moving to the sides, the left side of the devices is occupied by a power button and volume controller. Likewise, the right side also houses another set of volume rockers which can be used depending upon whether the front or the rear display is in use. Vivo NEX Dual Display

As previously mentioned the rear of both the Model A and Model B of the Vivo smartphone house a secondary display. But the Model A features a comparatively larger ring light which is accompanied by the camera sensor and a secondary hidden flash. On the other hand, the Model B has a capsule-shaped ring light which surrounds the camera sensor.

Besides, both the Vivo smartphones can also utilise the rear display as a screen light as seen on applications like Snapchat. All in all, these Vivo handsets are just slightly modified variants of the original dual-display smartphone. Therefore, we believe they have a high probability of turning into real-life devices which will be commercially available.Vivo NEX Dual Display

Nevertheless, it seems the company has devised new strategies and will soon be launching numerous smartphones.

    HTC Wildfire E Plus

Earlier this month, four unreleased HTC smartphones were leaked online. In addition, another handset with the Wildfire X moniker has been listed on Android Enterprise website. The listing has revealed both the key features and design of the upcoming smartphone. As it has been listed on the Enterprise website, it is assumed that the handset will be targeted towards the commercial sector. In simpler words, the HTC Wildfire X will be oriented towards B2B customers and organisations that buy equipment in bulk to be used by there task force rather than the consumer sector.

    HTC Wildfire X

According to the Android Enterprise listing, the HTC Wildfire X has an orthodox design with considerable bezels on both the top and bottom of the display. However, such devices are economical to manufacture and more robust, which is the primary concern of enterprise devices.

The top bezel of the Wildfire X houses a front-facing selfie camera, earpiece for listening to phone calls and necessary sensors like proximity and ambient light sensor. Unfortunately, the listing does not reveal the rear side of the smartphone or the crucial feature like the chipset. Nevertheless, it does provide key specs which are listed below.

  • Oppo Showcases A Smartphone With Waterfall Display

Oppo Showcases A Smartphone With Waterfall Display

Over the years, Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Oppo has made several fascinating handsets which the include the ‘Oppo Find X‘ that features a motorised elevating camera module and the ‘Oppo N1‘ that has a rear touch panel.

According to images shared by a company official, it has developed another unique smartphone that features a “waterfall display”. The company has used the fancy keyword ‘waterfall’ to refer to a device whose edges have an extremely high taper. In simpler words, the display of the smartphone transitions all the way into the sides which further boosts the screen to body ratio while providing for an even more immersive viewing experience.

Noteworthy, another smartphone that is alleged to have this type of display is the upcoming Huawei Mate 3 Pro

Besides, it is evident that the Oppo smartphone with a waterfall display lacks a notch or punch hole camera. Therefore, it may incorporate a popup camera or motorised elevating module as seen on the Oppo Find X that the device is pictured with.

Although not yet certain, this could indeed be a successor to the original Oppo Find X.

Unfortunately, the source has not revealed any specifications of the smartphone. Nevertheless, it is expected to be a flagship-grade smartphone and will pack features that are found on comparable devices.  Accordingly, it is expected to feature the Snapdragon 855 SoC, AMOLED display and a large capacity battery with support for fast charging.

Conclusively, the Oppo smartphone with a waterfall display surely looks impressive, however, in order to gain more details about it, we will have to wait patiently till the time spreads more light on it.

  • Samsung Smartphone With Triple Swivel Display

Samsung Smartphone With Triple Swivel Display

Korean electronics manufacturer, Samsung has had a crucial role in the development of modern-day smartphones. Clearly, the company just does not want to stop here as it keeps on developing new concepts which are revealed from time to time with new patents.

Besides working on foldable smartphones or smartphones with an edge-to-edge display, a freshly granted patent suggests, Samsung is conceptualising yet another innovative handset that would be beyond the imagination of most average users.

Samsung Triple Display SmartphoneAt initial glance, the Samsung device in the patent looks like any other conventional smartphone with a display on the front which is surrounded with considerable top and bottom bezels. However, in reality, the dated-looking device conceals three separate displays that swivel around a focal point.

Certainly, the three displays on the Samsung device can be used to simultaneously run three different applications which can boost multitasking on a compact smartphone. Even though modern smartphones are nimble enough to rapidly navigate through applications, they can not match the functionality that a device with multiple displays can provide. At the pace mobile devices are evolving, they have the potential to replace a conventional desktop or notebook computer. And the device in the patent seems to be a step in that direction.Samsung Triple Display Smartphone

Noteworthy, the patent granted to Samsung lacks any kind of buttons, port or other crucial elements like a camera or a fingerprint sensor. Also, accommodating a sizeable battery into a device with such a form factor is another huge challenge.

Therefore, we believe the technology pioneered with this handset will pave its way into other devices in the future rather than Samsung utilising this exact design.

To conclude, not much can be said, what Samsung plans to achieve with a device with this form factor. In order to get more information on the topic, we will have to wait for some official news from the company. Samsung Triple Display Smartphone
