Flagship Grade Redmi K20 Confirmed To Have A 4,000 mAh Battery

Xiaomi’s offshoot Redmi is bracing up for the launch of its upcoming flagship grade smartphone which will be called the Redmi K20 aka Killer 20. With the ‘Killer’ suffix, Redmi is boasting of a smartphone that offers high-end features at an aggressive price point. For a short while, the company has been sharing teasers revealing the features of the upcoming handset.

A freshly shared teaser confirms that the Redmi K20 will be powered by a large 4,000 mAh battery. Reports from the past have also claimed that the smartphone will support 27 W fast charging which is yet to be confirmed. Except for the current teaser, the company had previously shared several teasers which exhibit crucial information about the device like chipset, benchmarks score and camera resolution.

The Redmi K20 will feature the Snapdragon 855 SoC which is the top of the line chipset offered by Qualcomm. It is comprised of an Octa Core CPU and the Adreno 640 GPU. The said chipset is also featured on numerous flagship smartphones including the OnePlus 7 Pro and the Lenovo Z6 Pro GT. Noteworthy, the device registers an impressive Antutu score of 4,50,000+ which is about 20% higher than its competitors. The official case renders indicate the upcoming device will have a triple rear camera setup which is again to be confirmed. Though it is assured that the main sensor in the setup will have a resolution of 48 MP.

All in all, the Redmi K20 seems to be an impressive handset. Albeit we will have to wait for the official launch which is set to the 28th of May, 2019. Its official price is yet to be announced but the smartphone is expected to carry a price tag of sub US $ 500 (Rs 36000 approx).

Honor 20 Pro Leaks Online In White Colour Variant, Showcases Quad Rear Cameras
Honor, the sub-brand of Chinese manufacturer Huawei is gearing up for the launch of its upcoming smartphone lineup. Previously, it was reported that the devices will be unveiled at an event in London on May 21 2019 (i.e. today). The Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro will be flagship-segment smartphones with quad camera setups. The camera performance of the devices is anticipated to be top-of-the-line since Huawei’s latest flagship, the P30 Pro received positive reviews regarding the same. As per latest leaks, the Honor 20 Pro will be launched in a white coloured variant alongside other models.

Honor 20 Pro: Specifications And Features

Leaks suggest that the design language of the smartphone is expected to be similar to its predecessor. It will have a glass sandwich design which will be reinforced on top of a metal chassis. Previous reports state that the Honor 20 Pro will have a 6.26 inch LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution. To maximize the screen to body ratio, the device will feature a punch-hole display. In terms of biometrics and security, the handset will have a side mounted fingerprint scanner with additional support for face unlock technology.

As mentioned before, the device will be unveiled at an event in London on May 21, 2019. The launch event is expected to begin at 6:30 PM IST. Noteworthy, the more affordable model in the lineup, the Honor 20i has already been launched in China, so the device might be launched alongside the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro in India as well. The handsets will be available in three colour options as of now, which are Phantom Black, Phantom Blue and the freshly leaked White colour variant. Note that the white colour option is expected to be available in select regions only. The Honor 20 Pro is expected to be priced below the 40,000 INR price point in India.

Latest Pixel 4 Renders Based On Leaks Reveal A Punch Hole Display, Dual Rear Cameras

Google launched the original Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones back in the year 2016. They were the first mobile devices to feature the made by Google branding and were highly appreciated for their software and cameras. Since then, two more generations of the handsets have been announced called the Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 series respectively. It is expected that the company will launch the newest Pixel smartphones, presumably called the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL in the month of October later this year. While the announcement is still a few months away, fresh renders of the devices based on previous leaks have already been posted by a concept maker on Twitter. These renders provide an idea of what the handsets may look like at the time of launch.

It is expected that just like every year since 2016, Google will release two devices in the Pixel lineup. As mentioned above, they are assumed to be the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. The renders reveal the upcoming handsets will have a drastically different design than its predecessors. The smartphones are reported to be constructed out of metal and glass like the Pixel 3 series with the same dual tone finish at the back. On the front, however, a large display dominates the exterior with a hole punch style cutout on the top left corner of the display. The right side of the smartphone houses the coloured power button and the volume rockers while the left side remains empty.

The top of the Pixel 4 features just the secondary noise cancellation microphone; while the bottom will have the USB Type-C port and the speakers. Like the Pixel 2 and 3 series, the smartphones are expected to retain a stereo speaker setup and will not feature the 3.5mm headphone jack. The rear is where the Google Pixel 4 might differ from its predecessors the most. There is no physical fingerprint scanner in sight, which insinuates it will be present inside the display; and might be an ultrasonic sensor similar to the Galaxy S10 lineup. All the devices in the Pixel series have had a single rear camera, but the upcoming handsets are expected to feature two cameras on the back. These are reported to be a primary camera combined with an ultra-wide angle lens.

The Pixel 4 series seems to be a major design upgrade over its predecessor; and will compete against the upcoming Galaxy Note, newest iPhones at the time of launch. While the renders of the upcoming Google smartphone seem plausible, it is recommended you take them with a pinch of salt, as there is still time in the official announcement.

Nokia 3.2 To Soon Launch In India Hints Teaser

Earlier this month Nokia launched its latest smartphone, the Nokia 4.2 in India which is a budget focussed offering. Fresh video teaser shared on the Nokia India’s Twitter account indicates that the company will soon launch another budget-oriented handset, the Nokia 3.2. The teaser boasts of a smartphone with long battery backup which is accompanied by the #ViewMoreDoMore caption. Even though the teaser does not overtly talk about the aforementioned smartphone, the said caption corroborates with the Nokia 3.2 which was unveiled at MWC 2019.

The Nokia 3.2 has a modern design with a high screen to body ratio display on the front which features a waterdrop notch up top. Staple to latest Nokia handsets, it has a rear glass panel that harbours the company branding, fingerprint sensor, camera setup and Android One certification. The certification assures the device will receive the latest Android updates for two year and monthly security updates for 3 years.

The international variant was unveiled in two storage variants which include 2 GB + 16 GB and 3 GB + 32 GB. But we will have to wait for the official announcement to establish what storage variants will be offered in India. In addition to the inbuilt storage, it also supports memory expansion upto 400 GB via a microSD card.

The Nokia 3.2 is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery and supports 10 W fast charging. It runs on the latest Android 9 Pie stock OS which provides for a bloatware free experience. Connectivity options on the device include Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, 4G VoLTE, 3.5 mm audio jack and bottom mounted Micro USB 2.0 port. Redmi Note 7 Vs Note 7s Vs Note 7 Pro: Which One Should You Buy?

On the 28th of February 2019, Xiaomi launched two smartphones in India which include the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro. The former was originally launched in China in the month of January and it has a notable difference in comparison to the Indian variant. The Indian variant has 12 MP + 2 MP rear camera sensors while its Chinese counterpart has 48 MP + 5 MP resolution sensors. Samsung Galaxy S11 Codename Leaked Online, Unique Design Expected

World’s most selling smartphone OEM Samsung launched its latest flagships, the Galaxy S10 series back in the month of February. The company is known for refreshing its flagship lineup twice a year, once in the first quarter of the year with the Galaxy S series; and the Note series in the second half. While details about the Note 10 have just started to trickle (1,2,3), a renowned and trustworthy leaker of Samsung products has shared the codename of the purported Samsung Galaxy S11 which is expected to release next year. The handset is allegedly called “Picasso”.

Like mentioned above, the upcoming Galaxy S11 flagship smartphone from Samsung is claimed to be codenamed “Picasso”. If not known, Pablo Picasso was a famous Spanish artist in the 20th century who is known for many sculptures and paintings like Guernica made in the year 1937. Asus ZenFone 6 Listed On Flipkart, India Launch Imminent
Asus launched its latest flagship smartphone, the ZenFone 6 at an event in Valencia, Spain on the 16th of May. The device boasts of a modern design with unique camera setup. Unfortunately, the company did not announce when the handset will be announced for the Indian market at the time of its announcement. Now, Flipkart, an Indian e-commerce website has listed the ZenFone 6 which insinuates its launch in India is imminent.

The Asus ZenFone 6 is the latest flagship offering by the company as mentioned above and will succeed the ZenFone 5Z. It measures 159.1 x 75.44 x 8.4mm and weighs 190g. The screen to body ratio of the device stands in at an impressive 92 percent which is achieved by implementing a flip up camera mechanism. Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Gaming Smartphone To Launch In India On 27 May
The highly anticipated Xiaomi Black Shark 2 gaming smartphone is heading towards its India launch, and it brings a host of features to the table. As per previous reports, the device passed its BIS Certification in India on May 7, 2019, indicating that the smartphone may be released in the same month. Latest reports state that the Black Shark 2 is scheduled for an India launch on May 27. Media invites for the same have confirmed the aforementioned launch date.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7s With 48 MP Camera Launched In India
Earlier this year Xiaomi turned the Redmi lineup of smartphones into an independent brand. The first device that the newly separated company launched was the Redmi Note 7 which received rave reviews. The smartphone was later launched in India but with a notable change. Both the Indian and Chinese variants of the Redmi Note 7 have a dual rear camera setup but with essentially different sensors. The rear camera setup of India specific Redmi Note 7 has 12 MP + 2 MP sensors while the China specific variant has 48 MP + 5 MP sensors.

This disparity in the choice of sensors faced a major backlash from the Indian community and has been a thorn in the side of Redmi Note 7. To cheer up the consumers, the company has launched the updated Redmi Note 7s in the country which has identical camera sensors as its Chinese counterpart. Other than updated camera sensors, the rest of the specifications are the same as the original device.

Redmi K20

As mentioned above, the Redmi K20 will be the first flagship smartphone from the company. It is expected to have a glass design on the front and back with a metal chassis for reinforcement. Previous leaks reveal the device will have a 6.39 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 px. To maximise the screen real estate of the smartphone, a pop-up mechanism housing the front-facing camera is expected. This has been leaked to be a triple camera arrangement comprised of an f/1.8 aperture equipped 48MP primary sensor; combined with an f/2.4 aperture equipped 13MP ultra wide sensor; a tertiary f/2.4 aperture equipped 8MP telephoto sensor. For selfies, an f/2.0 aperture equipped 20MP front-facing camera may be housed in the pop-up mechanism on top of the handset. Samsung Galaxy Fold Ready To Launch Next Month

The revolutionary Galaxy Fold was first unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked Event in February 2019, and being the first one of its kind in the market, it had a lot riding on its shoulders. Continuing the practice of labelling new smartphones as updated editions of older models, Huawei will soon launch the Huawei P20 Lite (2019) edition. Before the official announcement of the smartphone, its full specifications and design renders have been revealed by a reliable tipster Roland Quandt.

Huawei P20 Lite Design and Features

In comparison to its predecessor, the upcoming Huawei P20 Lite (2019) has an all new design. It measures 159.1 x 75.9 x 8.3 mm and tips the scale at 178 grams. The device features a 6.4 inch LCD display with a punch hole that houses the 16 MP selfie camera. The bezels around the display are fairly thin which provide the device with a high screen to body ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone packs the Kirin 710 SoC which consists of an Octa-Core CPU and the Mali G51 GPU.

The right side of the Huawei P20 Lite (2019) is occupied by the volume rocker and the power button while the left side is free from any ports or switches. Moving to the bottom side, it is occupied by the USB type C port, loudspeaker grille and the 3.5 mm audio jack. The rear panel of the device is made out of glass and it harbours company branding, fingerprint sensor and a quad camera setup. The rear camera setup consists of an f/1.8 aperture equipped 24 MP sensor, an 8 MP sensor and dual 2 MP sensors.

Intel Working On A Smartphone With A 360 Degree Camera

American technology giant Intel is known for its desktop processors and computer components. Now, fresh leaks suggest the company may be working on a unique smartphone which it may introduce soon. According to reports, Intel applied for two patents in the year 2016 for a smartphone design with a 360 Degree Camera system. This was later published on the official website of the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) on the 14th of May.

Intel Smartphone With 360 Degree Camera

The patents reveal two smartphone designs, with both of them showing a near bezel-less smartphone; with some minor differences in design. The first one has a full screen without any borders. A flexible display seems to be on use in the device on the front and back which extends all the way to its sides. The standout feature of the image is the placement of the cameras. The displays on both sides have an off centre placed camera which is a lot like the one found in the Galaxy S10 series of smartphones. The significance of the number 360 written on the back is expected to be related to the capabilities of the setup. Reports claim the handset will utilise both cameras to capture images and video in 360 degrees.

More images from Intel’s patent reveal a similarly designed smartphone with components placed differently. In one image, a device with a single rear camera in the centre and two cameras, placed on the left and right respectively is visible. The handset in question here may also utilise the 360-degree camera technology as the one showcased earlier, as it also has a similar text on the back. The patents imply the company is working on a smartphone with a similar design. Unfortunately, it is not known when it will be launched or if Intel will end up selling this. This could also simply be a concept design, and proof of concept from Intel.

Oppo Patents Smartphone With Rotating Selfie Camera

With the intention of providing a full-screen experience to users, smartphone brands are incorporating different styles of front cameras in their devices. For instance, the OnePlus 7 Pro has a pop-up camera, whereas the Samsung Galaxy A80 has an innovative rotting camera setup. Following a similar trend, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo seems to be working on a smartphone with a rotating camera module.

About The Patent

After the launch of the Oppo Reno with the unique shark-fin design, the company has been granted a patent which depicts a smartphone with a rotating camera system. The patent was filed by Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications in the end of the year 2018 with the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office). The design was titled as a “Mobile Terminal” and was published on May 16, 2019. As mentioned previously, the patent exhibits a camera module design that can rotate 180 degrees around a pivotal axis.

The complete camera system consists of a total of 3 cameras, with two cameras placed together on one side and a single camera on the other side. Both the sides accommodate an LED flash. As per the patent, both the dual camera and single camera system can act as a selfie camera as well as the primary rear camera module. However, the patent provides no information regarding the fact whether both the cameras can be utilized simultaneously or not.

The camera system extends upwards via a 180 degree rotation. This will be possible with the help of a motor, although manual operation may be included as a feature as well. Similar to the ASUS Zenfone 6, the camera module can be held midway so as to capture the images from the desired angle. This feature can be used to shoot panoramic images as well. Since a variety of smartphones with similar design statements are expected to launch in the near-future, Oppo may follow suit as well.
