  • Samsung Working On A Foldable Gaming Smartphone Claims Patent

Samsung Working On A Foldable Gaming Smartphone Claims Patent

Samsung has confirmed that it will launch a foldable smartphone which is allegedly called the Galaxy F. The foldable phone along with the Galaxy S10 lineup is set to launch at the Galaxy Unpacked 2019 event which is scheduled for 20 February. A patent granted to Samsung suggests that except for the Galaxy F, the company is also working on a gaming oriented foldable phone.

    Rise Of Gaming Phones

The mobile gaming sector is rapidly gaining pace. Gaming smartphones like Xiaomi Black Shark and Nubia Red Magic have proved a market for gaming-focused smartphones exist. Samsung is a competitive company and it apparently wants to get in on the booming industry. Being a leader in the field of technology, Samsung wants to take the gaming smartphones a step further and the freshly granted patent supports the same.

    Patent Revelations

Samsung filed a patent for an unusual foldable smartphone with USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office)  in late 2017 which it was granted on 29 January 2019. The patent exhibits that the company is developing a futuristic gaming smartphone with flexible display and physical gaming buttons.

Surprisingly the gaming phone has a completely different type of folding mechanism. Unlike the Galaxy F, it has an outward folding display which indicates that Samsung is not limiting itself with one type of flexible phone. Notably, the phone also has a foldable gaming bar which consists of a four-way direction pad and six circular buttons which are aligned in two separate rows with three buttons each. The conceptualisation of the device is very intriguing as such controls would open a whole new world of mobile gaming possibilities.

Unfortunately, Samsung has not confirmed the existence of such a smartphone.  Therefore, predicting the launch date of the device is not possible. However, more information about the device is expected to be available in the near future.

  • The New Xperia XZ4 With 52MP Camera To Be Announced On Feb 25

The New Xperia XZ4 With 52MP Camera To Be Announced On Feb 25

The Sony Xperia XZ4 will be the first smartphone to feature the highest pixel count, which is 52 megapixels. In addition to that, it will harbour a 0.3 ToF (Time-of-flight) sensor, with a 16 MP Telescopic lens. All this info has been released with the Triple Camera leaks.

    Xperia XZ4 Details

The Xperia XZ4 will the first in the series of premium Xperia smartphones. Sources say that the model will have 3 different camera sensors mounted on the back. Not a lot of details are out yet, but the camera is definitely going to be the defining factor of the Xperia XZ4. The rear image of the device was leaked with the same name.

    Camera’s Specifications

The main/primary camera, which rests in the middle is a 52 MP (F/1.6) camera, and it’s supposedly much better than Honor View 20’s 48 MP sensor. In fact, it is being speculated that the Xperia XZ4 has the world’s best sensor in terms of pixel count. To boost the auto-focus speed, the phone will be equipped with a 0.3 MP ToF sensor. The telephoto lens has a 16 MP (F/2.6) sensor. All these details were sourced from Reddit, so it’s not official yet. So even though it’s definite that the ToF sensor is on the same device, we can’t say if it’s for the front camera or the rear camera.

It’s just a matter of time before the Sony Xperia XZ4 is announced, probably at the MWC 2019. Sony’s success rate dropped a bit with its last smartphone range, but hopefully they’ll make it back to the top with a smartphone release like this. Besides, Sony smartphones set standards for some of the best cameras all around. We all hope the legacy continues.

  • The Samsung Galaxy M30, All You Need To Know

The Samsung Galaxy M30, All You Need To Know

Succeeding the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy M10 and M20, Samsung’s Senior Vice President, Asim Warsi made a statement about the Samsung Galaxy M30. The third smartphone in the much anticipated series by Samsung, the M30 will release soon, as Asim said. Needless to say, Samsung fans are flipping out about it. Let’s have a look at the probable specifications which the Samsung Galaxy M30 will have to offer, because Samsung will definitely step the features up a notch

    Design

The Samsung Galaxy M30 will be comparatively slimmer than the Galaxy M20. At 8.4 inches of thickness, it isn’t going to be the slimmest phone around. Hopefully, it will be still sleek enough to implant an impression. Sporting the same waterdrop notch as the other two models, the Galaxy M30 is expected to look like a premium smartphone.

    Display

The Samsung Galaxy M30 is rumoured to have a 6.38 inch IPS LCD screen, with a high screen-to-body ratio. The resolution of the screen may be 2280 x 1080 px, but we can say nothing for sure as there have been some rumors of Samsung using Amoled panels for the M30.

    Under The Hood

Though we have not confirmed the specs yet, the Samsung Galaxy M30 will run on the Samsung Exynos chipset, and will boast an octa-core processor. By the time the Samsung Galaxy M30 will be released, it will probably run Android 9.0 out-of-the-box.

    Memory And Storage

The Galaxy M30 may be rolled out in two variants, a 4GB RAM version and a 6GB one, both with different storage options. MicroSD support will be present, of course, with expandable memory up to 512 GB.

    Camera

The primary camera of the Galaxy M30 will support 2K video recording, according to rumours. We are yet to see the features that Samsung will bring to the camera, the front camera is most likely to be a 16 MP camera with HDR support.

    Battery And Connectivity

We believe the Samsung Galaxy M30 will pack a non-removable 5000 mAh Li-Po battery with fast-charging support. It will have a Type-C 1.0 reversible connector, with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, just like the Galaxy M20.

    Price And Availibility

Currently, we can make no speculations on the price of the device, but it is most likely to be priced below Rs. 20,000. It might be available in the same two colours, Ocean Blue and Charcoal Black.

  • Samsung Galaxy S10 To Get Celeb Alarm Feature

Samsung Galaxy S10 To Get Celeb Alarm Feature

What if you could wake up by the sound of your favourite celebrity? It may be a dream come true for most people. Looks like Samsung is all set to make this wish come true for the buyers of their next device, the Galaxy S10. Samsung filed for patents on January 29 which show a feature named ‘Celeb Alarm’ which had the description as a ‘software for use in providing alarm services with voices of entertainers; downloadable ring tones and graphics for mobile phones.’

The feature seems like a novelty and may actually prove to be so; much like most of Samsung flagship’s from yesteryears. The company has tried to use a lot of gimmick to make their software stand out from the crowd, like the ugly, knockoff version of Animoji. Pulling the description of this feature apart, it is time to remember when Amazon Alexa offered the same feature.

    Whose Voices Will It Have?

Which celebrity will grace the Galaxy S10’s Alarm clock is not yet known. But if past is any indication, there could be some big names in there. Considering Samsung’s reputation, a good list of movie stars may lend their voices to it. When Alexa launched this feature in the US, it had names like Alec Baldwin and Missy Elliot who did the talking for it.

Samsung has had tie ups with popular celebrities before, so it wouldn’t be the biggest deal ever. But there is no denying the fact that this feature is still a gimmick and wouldn’t be the sole reason to buy the device.

  • Unboxing Pictures Of The Moto G7 Plus Leak, Reveals Exciting Features

Unboxing Pictures Of The Moto G7 Plus Leak, Reveals Exciting Features

Motorola is soon expected to announce the Moto G7 lineup of smartphones. Several sources claim that the company will be launching four new devices which include the standard Moto G7, Moto G7 Power, Moto G7 Plus and Moto G7 Play. Freshly leaked unboxing pictures of the Moto G7 Plus reveals its design details and key specifications.

    Moto G7 Plus Leaked Images

The unboxing images of the Moto G7 Plus confirm that the device indeed looks like its previously leaked renders. The smartphone has a 6.2-inch display with FHD+ resolution and a small dewdrop notch up top. The display panel has an 18:9 aspect ratio which Moto is referring to as ‘Tele Max Vision’.

The rear panel of the Moto G7 Plus is made out of glass that gives it an elegant and premium look. The rear of the device accommodates a fingerprint sensor and a horizontally mounted dual camera setup. The live image reveals that the smartphone packs an Octa-Core processor which is clocked at 1.8 GHz which is likely to be the Snapdragon 660 according to a previous Geekbench listing.

The leaked unboxing photos of the Moto G7 Plus exhibit that it supports OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) which will help in shooting better images. Surprisingly the smartphone supports 27 W fast charging which is a remarkable feature. Even flagship devices like the OnePlus 6T and Honor View20 also support only 20 W fast charging. The leaked device has 64 GB of ROM and 4 GB of RAM. Motorola is also expected to launch the smartphone with other storage variants.

    Launch Date

Also Read: Facebook Paying Users in Exchange For Their Data

Motorola has not announced the launch date of the Moto G7 smartphones but reports claim that the device will be launched on 7 February in Brazil. Also, the leaked device reads the specifications in the Spanish language. Therefore the possibility of this claim is quite high. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait for long as the assumed launch date is approaching fast.

  • Samsung Galaxy M20 Vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro Vs ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2, Spec Comparison

Samsung Galaxy M20 Vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro Vs ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2, Spec Comparison

With the majority of millenials showing interest towards the sub-12k to 15k segment, the competition in the same is heated up right now. Top brands are releasing smartphones with better specs and lower prices each week, and to be fair, we can’t help but put them up against each other to see how they fall out as rivals. Samsung recently revealed their playmaker in the same segment, and it’s none other than the Samsung Galaxy M20. With specs that’ll give other phones a run for their money, let’s have a look at where the new Samsung Galaxy M20 stands with other popular phones in the sub-15k segment. For this spec comparison, we’re putting the Galaxy M20 against the hugely popular Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro and the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2. This is up to you to decide that which is the best budget smartphone under 15k in this segment.

    Design

When it comes to design, it’s the most astute reason why a smartphone sells these days. Making a style statement is not just an option these days, its a necessity. That’s why all three of these phones have an extremely eye-catching design that stands out.

The Samsung Galaxy M20 sports a waterdrop notch, which also houses the front camera. The ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2 has a trapezium-like notch, which doesn’t take up much space in the display. The Redmi Note 6 Pro, on the other hand, sports a wider notch that is larger than the other 2 phones.

Talking about the back panels, the Samsung Galaxy M20 has a plastic back, which actually gives a premium look. Similarly, the ASUS device has a laminated glossy plastic back. It looks good, but picks up smudges pretty easily. The Redmi Note 6 Pro is the only smartphone here which brings a metal back panel to the game. It has a smooth matte finish, making it a bit slippery, but good to hold and look at the same time.

    Display

The Galaxy M20 brings the Samsung-developed PLS TFT capacitative screen to the table, with a size of 6.3 inches. The phone has a 83.6 percent screen-to-body ratio, which is higher as compared to the other two devices. With a resolution of 2340 x 1080 px, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a Pixel density of 409ppi, it clearly has an edge over the ASUS and Redmi devices.

The Zenfone Max Pro M2 has an 6. 2 inch IPS LCD, and a 82 percent screen-to-body ratio. With a slightly lower resolution at 2280 x 1080 px and 19:9 ratio, it matches the specs of the Redmi Note 6 Pro. The Galaxy M20, being the latest phone in the category, shows worthwhile improvements when it comes to display.

    Under The Hood

Starting with the Samsung Galaxy M20, it packs an Exynos 7904 Octa chipset (14nm). Both the Zenfone and the Redmi devices, on the other hand, run on the Snapdragon SoC. The Zenfone Max Pro M2 has a Snapdragon 660 chipset, which houses an Octa-core CPU (4×2.2 GHz Kryo 260 & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 260).

The Redmi Note 6 Pro runs on a slightly older Snapdragon 636 SoC, with an Octa-core 1.8 GHz Kryo 260. While the Zenfone and the Redmi have Adreno GPUs, the Galaxy M20 has a Mali-G71 MP2 GPU.

    Memory And Storage

All three smartphones are available in both 3 GB and 4 GB RAM variants, providing 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage variants respectively. The Zenfone Max Pro M2 is also available in a 3rd variant with 6GB RAM and 64 GB storage, which is saying something.

While the Redmi Note 6 Pro supports expandable storage up to 256 GB, both the M20 and Zenfone support microSD cards upto 512 GB. It’s interesting to note that the Zenfone and the Galaxy M20 both use dedicated memory card slots. The Redmi Note 6 Pro uses the slot for the SIM 2, so that’s something to point out here.

    Camera

In an era of dual-camera setups, none of these smartphones disappoint. The Samsung Galaxy M20 has a 13 MP (f/1.9) primary camera, with a secondary ultra-wide 5 MP (f/2.2) camera with a depth sensor. It’s equipped with a 8 MP (f/2.0) front selfie camera. Both these cameras support HDR and can record videos at 1080p (30fps).

The Zenfone Max Pro M2 has a 12 MP (f/1.8) primary camera, along with a  secondary 5 MP (f/2.2) camera, again with a depth sensor. In terms of the front camera, it has a 13 MP (f/2.0) front camera, which supports HDR and even has a LED flash. The best part about the Zenfone’s camera is the fact that it supports 2K recording, and 1080p recording at 60fps.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro sports a 12 MP (f/1.9) dual pixel primary camera, with a secondary 5 MP (f/.2.2) camera with a depth sensor. It has an amazing 20 MP (f/2.0) front camera with a secondary 2 MP front camera (with a depth sensor). It also supports recording at 1080p (30fps).

    Battery, Connectivity and Features

Both the Samsung Galaxy M20 and the Zenfone Max Pro M2 pack a 5000 mAh battery, which is a bliss for those who use their phone on the heavy side.  The Redmi Note 6 Pro has a 4000 mAh battery. A bit lower than its counterparts, but still enough to handle over a day’s worth of usage. The Samsung Galaxy M20 supports fast charging too.

All the devices have standard connectivity options, with the exception of an infrared port on the Redmi Note 6 Pro, which makes the device MI Remote compatible. The only device among these three which supports Type-C connectivity is the Galaxy M20, so that’s an added bonus. All three smartphones have rear-mounted fingerprint sensors.

The Samsung Galaxy M20 is available in two colours, Ocean Blue and Charcoal Black. Similarly, the Zenfone is also available in two colours, namely Blue and Titanium. The Redmi 6 Pro offers 4 different colour options. It’s available in Black, Blue, Rose Gold and Red.

    Pricing

The Samsung Galaxy M20 is priced at Rs. 10,990 for the 3GB+32GB version and Rs. 12,990 for the 4GB+64GB version. The ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2 starts with Rs. 12,999 for the 3GB+32GB version, Rs. 14,999 for the 4GB+64GB version and finally Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB+64GB version. The Redmi Pro 6 is priced at 12,999 for the 3GB+32GB version and Rs. 14,999 for the 4GB+64GB version. • Xiaomi CEO Teases The Redmi Note 7 Pro With 6GB RAM, 128 GB Storage

Xiaomi CEO Teases The Redmi Note 7 Pro With 6GB RAM, 128 GB Storage

Earlier this year, Xiaomi released the Redmi Note 7 with specs to kill for. A 48 MP camera with a Samsung ISOCELL sensor, 6 GB RAM, Snapdragon 660, It had everything that a smartphone connoisseur could desire. Needless to say, the device stirred up a lot of hype, with almost 100,000 units selling out in less than 11 minutes, as claimed by the Chinese electronics giant. Rumours are in the air that a newer edition of the same phone is on its way.

Rumoured Specs For Redmi Note 7 Pro

The device, which will be called the Redmi Note 7 Pro, is expected to launch with a Sony IMX586 sensor. And today, the company CEO dropped another hint online. When Lu Weibing was asking Redmi’s fans questions regarding their expectations from the Redmi Note 7 Pro, one fan had a rather far-fetched suggestion. “Drop the version with 3GB RAM and 32 GB Internal storage, and just release the 6GB+64GB or 6GB+128GB one.” This sounded like quite a big speculation. But the same reply was later reposted by the Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun. This suggests that Redmi is actually looking towards such a variant on the Redmi Note 7 Pro.

If we put together the rumours, the Redmi Note 7 Pro will probably resemble the Note 7 in a variety of ways. It is expected to retain the same 6.4 inch screen with a similar notch. It will have the same 4000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 4. One of the more exciting things to look forward to is the introduction of a Snapdragon 675 instead of the Snapdragon 660. If this happens, the Redmi Note 7 Pro will be the cheapest phone in the segment to provide this chipset.

    Expected Release Date

Currently, no definite news is available on the release of the Redmi Note 7 Pro. All Xiaomi fans are currently waiting for Weibing to come forward with an official release date for the same. • Pixel 3XL Lite Spotted Again On Geekbench

Pixel 3XL Lite Spotted Again On Geekbench

The Pixel 3 series was praised all over because of its amazing camera and clean software. What that phone didn’t win any awards for, was the boring design and the high price. Looks like Google is trying to win back the lost audience through the Pixel 3XL Lite. Although there have been many leaks regarding the phone, but it seems like we are getting quite close to the final launch of the device.

The Pixel 3XL Lite was again spotted on Geekbench. The listing was uploaded on January 28. What’s interesting about this is it shows the name of the device as Pixel 3a XL. This could be the final name Google is thinking about using or just again a code name. The listing confirms this is indeed the lite version because of the code name Bonito. The Lite version of the series had code named Bonito and Sargo.

    Pixel 3a XL Specifications

The listing on Geekbench reveals some of the specifications of the upcoming Pixel device. The phone will have 4GB of RAM which is weird as the last listing reported the RAM as 6GB. It is a possibility that there may be 2 versions of the phone. The listing does not reveal the processor but the specs suggest it is a Snapdragon 710. The 710 is a mid-range chipset which is what this phone is going to be.

The camera is expected to be the same one as its bigger siblings. One thing that will change is there may be only one lens on either side. The phone will also see the comeback of the headphone jack. The 3.5mm jack was ditched by Google at the launch of Pixel 2 series. The metal and glass body is also substituted by a plastic one.

Also, looking at the scores of the phone, it seems like Google may have minimised the capacity of the chipset again. This is because the phone scores 1640 in single core and 4973 in multi core. This is not new to Google, as it always under clocks its phones.

In conclusion, the Pixel 3XL Lite or the Pixel 3a XL series, whatever it ends up being called, looks like a compelling option. The phones may be a great option for people looking for a good camera on a budget. The success of the phones may depend on what Google ends up pricing the devices. The devices are expected to be announced in May, in Google I/O 2019.

  • OnePlus 6T Vs Honor View20 : Specs Comparison

OnePlus 6T Vs Honor View20 : Specs Comparison

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 6T smartphone late last year which has turned out to be one of the best smartphones in its segment. The freshly launched Honor View20 is similarly priced to the former and will definitely give the OnePlus 6T a good run for its money. Here is a detailed spec comparison of the reigning champ and the new guy in town.

    Display

Both the OnePlus 6T and Honor View20 have excellent displays with Full HD resolution. However, the former shines in this area as it uses an AMOLED display panel. The LCD display on the Honor View20 is undoubtedly good but it cannot match the illumination prowess of an AMOLED panel. Also, the OnePlus 6T has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 to protect it against hard surfaces and sharp objects.

    Processor & Fingerprint sensor

The OnePlus 6T features the Snapdragon 845 Soc while the Honor View20 packs the Kirin 980 SoC. Notably, the Kirin 980 is manufactured using 7 nm manufacturing process which translates in less power consumption and longer battery life. Some of our initial testings also revealed that the Honor View20 was able to load the infamous Pubg mobile slightly faster than its contender. The OnePlus 6T has the futuristic under-display fingerprint sensor while the Honor View20 has a conventional rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. All in all, the fingerprint sensor on both smartphones is very responsive and snappy.

    User Interface & OS

Both the OnePlus 6T and Honor View20 run on the latest Android 9.0 Pie and are skinned with custom UI’s of their respective companies. The former runs on OnePlus’s OxygenOS while the latter runs on Magic UI 2. As the two devices run on the latest Android OS, it is more of a consumer’s choice what Android skin suits their needs. Worth mentioning OnePlus is renowned for providing fast Android updates and similar is expected for the upcoming Android Q. While less information is available is about the update timeline for the Honor View20.

    Camera

The OnePlus 6T has an f/2.0 aperture equipped 16 MP selfie snapper and the Honor View20 boasts an f/2.0 aperture equipped 25 MP front camera. At least on paper, the front camera of the latter outdoes the OnePlus 6T. Both smartphones have a dual rear camera setup but are comprised of completely different sensors. The Honor View20 has an f/1.8 aperture equipped 48 MP Sony IMX 586 sensor and a 3D TOF (Time Of Flight) camera. The OnePlus 6T, on the other hand, features an f/1.7 aperture equipped 16 MP sensor and a 20 MP wide lens sensor.

    Battery and Storage

The OnePlus 6T has a 3,700 mAh battery while its competitor, the Honor View20 is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery. Not only does the View20 pack a larger capacity battery, the 7 nm Kirin 980 further contributes in a longer battery backup. In terms of charging speed, both the smartphones support this feature and can be charged with 20 w of maximum power.

    Verdict

Both the OnePlus 6T and Honor View20 have an exceptional build quality and are loaded with remarkable features. The Honor View20 exceeds the OnePlus 6T with its fascinating look, faster SoC, larger battery and better camera resolution. However, the OnePlus 6T strikes back with the outstanding AMOLED display panel, Gorilla Glass 6, butter smooth OxygenOS, and the futuristic under display fingerprint sensor.

  • Redmi Go: Everything We Know

    Redmi Go: Everything We Know

Xiaomi has never seen better days in the country. The brand sales and reputation have never been better. And Xiaomi, in its traditional fashion is still doing what they do best, launching budget phones at never seen before prices. Now it seems like Xiaomi is all set to enter the sub Rs 5,000 market with the Redmi Go. This is what we know about the Redmi Go.

    Design

The Redmi Go will be an ultra-budget smartphone, so its not a surprise to see it come with huge bezels and a plastic body. The phone is very basic and minimalistic appearance. The phone will sport a single camera at the back. From the looks of it, the device looks a lot like the Redmi 5A.

    Display

The Redmi Go will have a 5-inch LCD display with a 1,280 x 720 resolution and a 16:9 ratio. This is neither modern or futuristic but being a budget phone, The Redmi Go will have a decent display for the price and the 16:9 aspect ratio is still relevant and reliable.

    Processor

The Redmi Go will come with a Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with an Adreno 308 GPU. The Snapdragon 425 is a Quad-Core processor and a quite dated one. The SoC has 4 x Cortex A53 Cores clocked at 1.4GHz. The performance of the device should be fine for normal and light workloads.

    Memory and Storage

The Redmi Go is an ultra-budget smartphone, so it should be no surprise that it comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of Internal Storage. The phone will support MicroSD expansion up to 128GB. The phone wouldn’t be a powerhouse or a media machine obviously, but it should be good for normal, day-to-day tasks.

    Camera

The Redmi Go won’t be a camera centric smartphone, but it is expected to have a serviceable camera. The specs known so far are an 8MP f/2.0 sensor at the back with a 5MP f/2.2 sensor over at the front. The phone would be good for basic things like clicking pictures and video calling.

    Battery and Operating System

The Redmi Go will have a 3000mAh battery with support for 5W charging. The phone will not support fast charging because of the price it will be available at. The Phone will ship with the Go edition of Android Oreo.

    Connectivity and Other Features

The Redmi Go comes with a dual sim feature with 4G available on both. The phone will have Bluetooth 4.1 and a MicroUSB port for charging and data transfer. The phone doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor so it may rely on some form of face unlock.

Overall, the Redmi Go looks like a basic cheap smartphone by Xiaomi and would definitely sell well if priced reasonably within the sub Rs. 5,000 bracket and available without a barrage of flash sales. Xiaomi has tasted quite the success in the country and the Redmi Go seems to be just another success story.

    Memory and Storage

The device is available in two variants. There is a 2GB RAM version, which gets 16 GB internal storage. Then, there is a 3GB RAM version which is coupled with 32 GB of internal memory.
