  • Nokia 1 Launched In India For Rs. 5499

Nokia 1 Launched In India For Rs. 5499

At the Mobile World Congress 2018, HMD Global unveiled a plethora of smartphones. Right from the infamous “Banana Phone” from The Matrix to the Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 7 Plus. However, the Nokia 1, an Android Go running smartphone was also an important announcement. It has now been launched in India at a price of Rs 5499. In fact, the Nokia 1 will only be available via offline outlets from the 28th of March.

Google introduced Android Go back in early-December 2017 tailor-made for devices with 1GB of RAM. The company said the idea behind Android Go is to create a version of Android software which is designed to run better on phones with either 512MB or 1GB of RAM.

Google has claimed that Android Go’s Oreo edition will be a variant of Android Oreo that a manufacturer can just set by ticking off a configuration flag. What this basically does is that it sets up the phone to use the “Go” versions of a handful of Google apps such as the main Google app, Google Assistant, Google Maps, Gmail, and others. Google claims that the smaller apps and slimmer OS can as much as halve the amount of storage that’s taken up by default on a new phone running default OS.

    Nokia 1 Specs

The Nokia 1 has a 4.5 inch FWVGA display with an 854 x 480 px resolution. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A retails in India for Rs 5999 and has a 5 inch 1280 x 720 px resolution.

    Redmi 5A

Under the hood, the Nokia 1 has the MediaTek MT6737M chipset with a 1GHz quad-core processor. This is coupled with 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 8GB of onboard storage. There is nothing to write home about its camera as well. The Nokia 1 has a 5MP primary camera with an LED flash. On the front is a 2MP camera. However, the Redmi 5A offers 13MP primary camera and a 5MP front camera.

Out of the box, the smartphone will run Android 8.1 Oreo-based Android Go operating system. Powering the smartphone will be a 2150 mAh battery. The company claims will deliver up to 9 hours of talk time and up to 15 days of standby time.

Huawei is all set to launch the Huawei P20 series and Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s will be the first flagship smartphone from the company to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. A new video of what might be the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s reveals the design the smartphone.

The video is five seconds long and gives a 360-degree view of the smartphone. On the front, the device has an 18:9 aspect ratio display with negligible bezels. However, similar to the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, the device has a prominent bezel on the bottom, which houses the front-facing camera. The video also corroborates recent teasers that it won’t sport a notch.

    Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s is likely to have a glass back, glass front with support for wireless charging. However, we cannot rule out the fact that the device might have a ceramic body, similar to its predecessors. At the back, the device has an iPhone X-style camera bump with a rear-facing fingerprint sensor.

    Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s Specs

The Mi MIX 2s will have a 6 inch IPS LCD display with a 2160 x 1080 px resolution. As was with the Mi MIX 2, the left, right and top bezels of the device will be minimal with a thicker bottom bezel that will house the front-facing camera.

Under the hood is what makes the Mi MIX 2s exciting. It will be the first Xiaomi smartphone with the Snapdragon 845 chipset. This will be coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The smartphone will be powered by a 4000 mAh battery with support for QuickCharge 4.0.

  • Sony Xperia XZ2 Tablets To Launch Soon

Sony Xperia XZ2 Tablets To Launch Soon

Sony has not launched a flagship tablet since 2015. Most of the brands have been doing the same, due to decreasing tablet sales number. However, Sony might reconsider its decision on the same, by launching a flagship tablet in 2018. According to a report, the teardown of Sony’s camera app has hinted towards two tablets from the Japanese smartphone maker. The company is most likely to launch an 8 inch and a 10 inch tablet. These devices might launch under the Xperia XZ2 moniker, which was launched at MWC 2018.

Sony is expected to launch these tablets in the summer of 2018 along with the Xperia XZ2 Pro. The Xperia XZ2 Pro is expected to be the most premium offering from the company, which might have a 4K resolution display with flagship class hardware. Apart from Huawei and Samsung, not many smartphone makers have launched premium Android-powered tablets in the recent past. This is mainly because Apple has been dominating the tablet industry with its iPad lineup. In fact, Apple has a 23% market share in the tablet industry.

     Sony Xperia Xz2 tablet Specs

The leak does not mention any specifications. However, going by the flagship device standards, it is likely to launch a device with at least 1080p resolution. Under the hood, the device is likely to be powered by a Snapdragon 800 series processor. Additionally, we might see different variants of these tablets with Wi-Fi or LTE capabilities.

As this leak was seen on camera application, the devices are likely to have a camera similar to the Sony Xperia XZ2. If that so, this could be the first tablet to support slow motion 960fps video recording. However, considering this as a tablet, these devices will have a mediocre camera and a massive battery, which can last for a complete day or two. These tablets are likely to run on Android 8 Oreo.

  • OnePlus 6 Could Launch Sooner Than Expected

OnePlus 6 Could Launch Sooner Than Expected

So far, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are the most exciting Snapdragon 845-powered devices on the market right now. On the 27th of March, the Mi MIX 2s will join that list and in a couple of months, the OnePlus 6 will launch. While many have predicted the OnePlus 6 to launch in June 2018, things might be a bit different. The OnePlus 5T has gone out of stock in the US, similar to what happened with the OnePlus 5 before the 5T launch.

This means that OnePlus can, realistically, now buy only the 6, when it’s launched. OnePlus being a young company only makes one smartphone at a time. This means that the launch of the OnePlus 6 is nigh, and could happen sooner than expected. The new iteration in the OnePlus story could be a huge departure in terms of design and build quality from the previous device.

    OPPO R15

If history is anything to go by, the OnePlus 6 could look very similar to the OPPO R15 Dream Mirror Edition. This means that the 6 could have a glass back, like the OnePlus X and an iPhone X-like notch. While we have seen a lot of iPhone X copycats so far, the OnePlus 6 could house TrueDepth-like sensors for an advanced facial recognition system. If not, then the criticism will be directed at the 6, just like the OnePlus 5.

    OnePlus 6 Specs

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s Launch: What To Expect

27th March is an eventful day in the tech industry. Three smartphone giants in their own rights have scheduled events with a certain level of anticipation. Apple has a keynote planned which will focus on Apple’s advancements in the education industry. Huawei will launch three new smartphones which will resemble the iPhone X in more than one way. And then, Xiaomi will launch the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s at an event in Shanghai.

    Mi MIX 2s Wireless Charging

For months, leaks suggested that the Mi MIX 2s will have an unusual design with a notch at the top-right corner. However, recent leaks and teaser images by Xiaomi have quashed those reports. The Mi MIX 2s will have a design very similar to the Mi MIX 2. So far, Xiaomi has teased a few AI features for its dual-camera setup on the Mi MIX 2s. This confirms that the Mi MIX 2s will be the first MIX smartphone with a dual-camera setup.

A recent teaser by Xiaomi hinted at the presence of wireless charging. However, another leak suggests that the device will retain the ceramic build of the Mi MIX 2.

The Mi MIX 2s will be the first-ever MIX smartphone with a dual-camera setup. It will have a lot of AI features, as teased by Xiaomi. • Xiaomi Mi A2 Spotted On TENAA

Xiaomi Mi A2 Spotted On TENAA

The Xiaomi Mi A1 was well-received in India for its build quality and stock Android OS. However, the smartphone still has an older 16:9 aspect ratio display which makes it look a bit archaic when compared to other budget smartphones in India. According to a listing on TENAA, the company is most likely to solve this issue with the Xiaomi Mi 6X. Similarly, the device is likely to launch in India as the Xiaomi Mi A1 (2018) or the Mi A2.

Unlike a leak, the device is officially listed on TENAA with the model number M1804D2SC. This means that the smartphone is ready for its mass production and might launch soon. This time around, the company hasn’t played much with respect to the build quality. However, changes like an iPhone X-style camera module and an 18:9 display are some of the visible changes found in the listing. Similarly, the design looks a lot more premium than the Redmi Note 5 Pro, which has plastic antenna bands. Considering the official listing, the device could launch along with the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s on the 27th of March.

    Xiaomi Mi 6X
    Xiaomi Mi A1
    Xiaomi Mi 6X Specs

The Xiaomi Mi 6X has a 5.99 inch FHD+ 2160 x 1080 px 18:9 aspect ratio display. This means the device is likely to miss out on an infamous notch. Considering the similarities between the Redmi Note 4 to the Mi 5x. The device is likely to be powered the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Octa-core chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage.

One thing that the Xiaomi Mi 6x might fail to impress the audience with, is the battery. The device has a 2910 mAh battery, which is less than the 4000 mAh battery of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. However, the Mi A1 had a 3080 mAh battery, which means the Mi A2’s 2910 mAh battery is not much of a downgrade.

  • Mark Zuckerberg Apologises For Facebook Data Scandal In Full-Page Newspaper Advertisements

Mark Zuckerberg Apologises For Facebook Data Scandal In Full-Page Newspaper Advertisements

Facebook, over the past few days, has been under tremendous scrutiny. Mark Zuckerberg first posted on Facebook addressing the whole issue. However, the Facebook post looked more like a recap of the controversy and less of an apology. He talked about steps that Facebook will take in order to curb this problem. But, never once said that he or the company was sorry for what had happened.

Now, the social media and giant has taken to print media to issue an apology. Facebook took out several full-page advertisements in newspapers like the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and several UK papers. The ads take the form of an apology written by Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder and CEO of Facebook Inc.

The apology, again, talks a lot about the steps Facebook is taking or has taken already to curb data breaching. The apology reiterates that the company has limited the amount of data an app gets when a user signs up through their Facebook account. However, the tone of the ad certainly is a bit more remorseful than the Facebook post from last week. Zuckerberg writes, “This was a breach of trust and I’m sorry we didn’t do more at the time. I promise to do better for you.”.

A few days ago, a story broke out, exposing a British data analytics firm and its illegal acquisition of private data of about 50 million users. Cambridge Analytica, the firm in question performed work for the campaign of President Donald Trump and made ads for the Defeat Crooked Hillary page. Worth noting that that the page was run by the Make America Number One super PAC (Political Action Committee). Co-incidentally, both the Cambridge Analytica and Make America Number One financed by Robert and Rebekah Mercer, who backed Donald Trump in the general election.

    POTUS Donal Trump

Ever since the story went public, the repercussions have been severe for the social media giant. Apart from a massive dent in its reputation, the company has been hit with several lawsuits. The hashtag #DeleteFacebook has been trending on social media as well. Moreover, the company has lost over US$ 60 billion in market cap since the controversy began.

According to a new rumour, the smartphone will be manufactured in India, exclusively for India. Which means this could be the first smartphone from Apple made just for a single country. However, we are not sure about this yet, since Apple has never done anything like this ever.

The report also says that the iPhone SE 2 might have a display with a screen size ranging from 4.0 inches to 4.2 inches. This indicates that the device will have prominent bezels, which means the device is most likely to have a Touch ID rather than Face ID. The report is also clear about the fact that, the device will not launch at WWDC 2018.

    iPhone SE 2

The iPhone SE 2 is expected to launch with a price tag of Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000.
