Intel has officially announced the 8th generation Core i3, i5, i7, and Core i9 processor for laptops at a global event in Beijing. Additionally, the company also announced next-generation Intel Optane memory that can deliver high performance even on older PCs. These processors will be available across the globe for notebook manufacturers. The manufacturers are most likely to launch notebooks based on these chipsets by Q2 2018.

These chipsets are based on the latest Coffee Lake platform with 14nm++ process. Compared to the 7th generation chipsets, these processors offer up to 41% more frame rate while gaming. Similarly, 4K video editing will be faster by up to 59%. These [...]

Apple’s WWDC conference is live and the company has announced refreshed Macbook Air and MacBook Pro Lineup.

The Macbook Air will come with Ivy Bridge with 2GHz Core i7, with Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz. The FaceTime camera is now 720p, the display on the 11-inch model now 1366 x 768 + Intel’s HD graphics 4000. The 13-incher will 1440 x 900 2 xUSB 3.0 ports

Prices will start at $999 for 11 inch basic.

Alongside the new Air, Apple has also unveiled the new Macbook Pro, again with Intel’s Ivy Bridge [...]

The new X-Note Z330 is only 14.7mm (0.58-inches) in thickness, 1.21kg (2.67 pounds) in weight and has a SSD that makes it an extremely versatile machine. The Ultra-book comes with the Intel’s Core i5 and Core i7 options with 4GB of Ram and SSD b/w 120GB and 256GB. The portable computer will also include as standard HDMI and USB 3.0  along with Intel’s Widi for wireless streaming. Price for the lower Core i5 model is set at US $1500 in Korea (INR 75,000) and US$ 2400 for the Core i7 ( INR 1,20,000). Still Interested?

A whole new range of ultra books from HP reinforce their future in the domain. The new Folio notebooks/ultrabooks start at $900 and come standard with a 128GB mSATA SSD and a backlit keyboard.  The battery life is estimated at 9 hours. The new Folio has a 13.3-inch (1366 x 768) display, TPM circuitry as an option  and a Core i5-2467M processor, 4GB of RAM, a six-cell battery and HP’s CoolSense technology.It also has the now standard HDMI, Ethernet, USB 2.0 and 3.0, a memory card reader and a combined headphone / mic socket. 

Its not as slender as the other competition, at 18mm at its thinner and wiggling in at 3.3 [...]

The Acer Aspire S3 range of ultrabooks have been launched in India , at just 13 mm (0.51″) thickness, Aspire S3 weighs less than 1.4 kgs. the company is really boasting the new battery design which lasts upto 50 days on standby or 6 hours on real usage.

Looks like Samsung likes disappointing willing buyers. So looking forward to owning one of these devices now, Samsung only intends to launch the new Samsung Series 3 laptops in Korea.

The 350U specs

Asus has silently intro’d the new Eee Slate B121 for the Enterprise market. Like the Eee Slate 101 this runs Windows 7 Professional on a full fledged Intel Core i5 chipset.

FOr the data conscious it has the Computrace LoJack for remote location and data wipe, and encryption amenities. A price of  $1,500 US or about INR 65000 , put it in the price range of a Macbook/ top line notebook.  Other features include 12.1-inch Display with 1280 x 800 LED Gorilla Glass display, 4GB RAM, 64GB of storage, dual USB 2.0 ports, mini-HDMI out, SD card slot and 2 megapixel front-facing camera. 

Apple has dropped a new load of goodies on us today, as we suspected, Apple has updated the Macbook Air to include new hardware and backlit keyboards.

Still this as ever the Macbook Air now has a refreshed price as well, 

The inter-webs are abuzz with news of Apple Sale Item refresh on the 13th of July. This news comes as many have confirmed that Apple has started to ask Apple Store employees to prepare for an “overnight” shift on July 13th.

Many claim that the Macbook air and Lion OS X will be available from the 14th of July in Apple Stores. and the Macbook Air refresh will bring a lot of new things, including SandyBridge processors and Thunderbolt I/O.

A black Macbook Air (premium) is also in the “AIR”, but seems highly unlikely.

Vostro is usually associated with corporate and business lineup of Dell Notebooks. But this time around things look changed. The newly announced Dell Vostro 3000 Series has a buch of features which may also appeal to the not so corp type. For starters They come with a long range 12 hour battery life which offers a quick recharge time.

As was expected the new iMac refres has been in the mill for quite some time, and Apple has officially annouced and started shipment of its new iMac 2011 Lineup. The new revision will feature the same starting price of US $ 1,199/- for the 21.5 inch mac with 1920 by 1080 pixel iPS Display and 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i5. With specs going upto 3.4 Ghz Core- i7 on the iMac 27 inch.

The new revision brings single thunderbolt port to the 21.5 inch and a dual thunderbolt to 27 inch iMacs.
