Two days after Christmas all non-A5 iDevices received an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 from pod2g. The hacker worked for two months before announcing the release of the jailbreak solution dubbed Corona.
However, as it was earlier known that all A5 chip based devices, namely the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4S, did not get a jailbreak solution primarily because of unavailability of a valid exploit. Internet’s more well-known celebrity iPhone and PlayStation hacker George “GeoHot” Hotz has gone to Facebook. Rumors say that he’s involved with product development for the company’s alleged iPad app. The news was confirmed by a quick visit to Hotz’s Facebook page, his work status shows “Facebook software engineer starting in May 2011”

But, in an exciting turn of events looks like the newest version is still vulnerable to i0n1c’s untethered jailbreak method. Although a lot of failures occurred and the Dev-Team decided to pull the iPhone 4 jailbreak from redsn0w, leaving iPhone 4 users to rely on a tethered jailbreak, atleast till i0n1c has a chance to fix the venerability patch for iPhone 4.
