According to a leaked invite for the next Samsung Unpacked event in New York, Samsung will launch the next Note phone on August 2 2016. The invite shows a 7 and ties in with previous rumors that the company will this time around call their smartphone the Note 7 to tie in with the Galaxy 7 naming system.
The invite also mentions the fact that “the next edge is around the corner”, which could mean that either the Samsung Note 7 will have an edge, or that the company will launch two variants of the Galaxy Note 7.
Previous leaks mention that the Galaxy Note 7 will have a 5.8-inch QHD curved edge display, a Snapdragon 823 SoC chipset for the US and for [...]

Samsung is expected to release the Note 6 earlier than usual to eat up some of the market share of the upcoming Apple iPhone 7. Usually launched end-August or early September the Note 6 is expected to have a June-July launch in 2016. Samsung Galaxy Note 6’s configuration were leaked out again on Weibo.
The smartphone is expected to outdo expectations of the consumers by adding 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of onboard storage, a storage option that analysts claim will be available in the iPhone 7.
Samsung is apparently also working on two variants of the Note 6 one with the Snapdragon 823, which is a beefier version of the Snapdragon 820, for the US markets. The other one will [...]
Rumors are pegging the release of the Note 6 and the Galaxy S7 Edge Plus earlier than its usual IFA launch for July 2016. The segment defining Note series that still comes with a stylus may launch at the time Samsung launched the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus along with a successor of the same.
One of the smartphones pegged for July will feature a large 5.8 inch Edge display, much like the S7 edge and will come with Android N on board. Soon after which most Samsung flagships will start to get their own builds/ upgrades of Android N. The Other will feature the same size, however with a flat display.
There is also talk of a 4000 mAh battery, which may not be such a problems [...]
As Samsung prepares to take on the world with its flagship devices this year, this is the latest we have about its phablet Galaxy Note 6.
A Chinese Weibo account has posted some specifications of the Note 6 which mention a 12 MP camera, along with 5.8-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560X1440. Additionally, there is also a mention of 6 GB of RAM. The latter news does not come as a surprise because it was only a couple of months ago when Samsung had announced it 12 GB mobile DRAM chips. This opened the door for 6 GB smartphones in the near future because the 12Gb LPDDR4 enables 3 GB or 6 GB of mobile DRAM in a single package by simply using two chips and four chips [...]
Samsung found itself at the centre of controversy last year owing to the whole ‘Pengate’ scandal. Apparently, users of the Galaxy Note 5 did not prove to be as smart with the stylus as their smartphone, or so Samsung claims. The S Pen on the Note 5, when inserted the wrong way, would not only get stuck inside the Note, but would also damage the sensing mechanism of the display. Basically rendering your phone into a regular non-Note Samsung device.
However, now, reports of a new patent suggests Samsung may have found a solution to this problem either way.
The image shows that the S-pen can be fitted at a 90 degree angle and be used as a stand if the device [...]
