Sony has announced that the NEX-EA50EH will be coming to India, It has a APS-C Exmor CMOS sensor seen in the NEX lineup of cameras. The biggest difference in this camera has to be the powered zoom lens with a rocker style zoom, the SEL18-200PZ 11x is an E mount so should be easily compatible with most NEX cameras. The lens packs variable isis, auto focus and “Optical Steady Shot” active image stabilization. The camera has the ability to shoot 16mp RAW images, thanks to a mechanical shutter with its own release button and a flash hot-shoe which is all pre-equipped on the camcorder. LG Q2 earnings are out as it registered net profits of $138 million, up 46 percent from the same period last year. The mobile division struggled after a strong Q1 and took an operating loss, however the positive takeaways are a rising percentage of smartphone shipments and plans to launch new LTE-connected models in North America. LG is also banking of future deployments in countries like India and China.

Ready to jump to Windows 8 ? Microsoft is following in Apple’s footsteps by making the upgrade to Win 8 more pocket friendly. If you have an existing installation of Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 will able to download a Windows 8 Pro upgrade for just $39.99 (IN Rs. 2200/-).
That’s a big drop from the company’s earlier upgrade prices, which were as high as US $ 99 (In Rs. 5500-7500) . If you want the DVD you can purchase it for a price of US $ 69.99. According to Microsoft the prices will increase when the promotion ends on January 31st 2013.
Absinthe 2.0 has been released, this tool developed by the “Jailbreak Dream Team” (Chronic-Dev and iPhone Dev), and will support all iPhone and iPad versions, with the exception of iPad2,4.

Remember the Ikea Uppleva TV we saw a couple of weeks ago? well, the company has finally put a price on it, and if you ask us its quite alright. The unit will be available in sizes ranging from 24 inches-46 inches and prices starting US$ 960 (Rs. 50,000) in Europe. The ready unit will have a built-in Blu-ray player and a wireless subwoofer, and is being assembled by TCL Multimedia a manufacturer in China
Uppleva is expected to be available in France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden beginning next month, other European countries later in the year, followed by the US in 2013 and sometime in the next 10 years to India (zing!)
We can keep waiting for Apple’s supposed iTV but looks like IKEA is in no mood for waiting. Global Furniture and household goods giant Ikea has announced “Uppleva” a customizable, TV cabinet which has a DVD player and TV built right into it. You also have Surround Sound with a wireless subwoofer.
This brilliant piece of furniture can be picked up in various options with prices starting from US$ 960 ( about INR 50,000). As far as the TV is concerned, it is a Full HD LED display along with Smart features, Fm Radio, Internet streaming, apps, and multiple inputs including 4 HDMI and 2 USB inputs.
Apple is the proud holder of almost a US $ 100 Billion of cash reserves. What does a company with so much capital and power do? Well the world is probably asking and Apple is ready to answer the questions tomorrow : March 19, 2012 6:30:00 PM GMT+05:30.
So what does a company who is richer than the worlds most powerful country have in mind? Possibly better returns to investors? Major world dominance plans? or maybe their own country?
Who knows with Apple, we will just have to wait and watch.

LG has confirmed that it will be releasing the OLED displays of the future at the CES 2012. The Worlds largest OLED display measuring 55 inches will also be unveiled at the event. The unveiling will happen on January 9th, LG claims their technology uses white OLEDs overlaid with colors for a lower error rate and clearer “ultra definition” screen.

Sony has sold its stake in the SLCD division of Samsung, the initial tie up was a 50%-50% partnership between the two companies. The venture was started seven years ago and now the companies have decided to part ways. The 50% stake that Sony owned was bought back by samsung for a sum of US $ 939 million, and Sony believes that it will continue engineering efforts for LCD developments in the future alongside Samsung.

DLNA and WiFi Direct have tied up to offer what appears to be the brilliance of a future never left out. The technologies if put together will eliminate the need of third party routers. The Digital Living Network Alliance has officially incorporated WiFi Direct into its interoperability guidelines, which means you could soon be streaming movies and music between devices (like your laptop and smartphone) without connecting to a home (or public) network.
