Ad agency, Ogilvy & Mather has come up with an ingenious method to curb littering in the streets of Hong Kong. By using the DNA lifted off the litters and Snapshot DNA phenotyping, they’re now recreating the faces of the litterbugs.
The campaign, known as ‘The Face of Litter’ was formulated after Hong Kong Clean up, Ecozine and the Nature Conservancy joined hands for the same cause. The campaign was launched on Earth Day and will be targeting key locations. Using the DNA, visual representations of the litterbug will be created and put up across the city and online. This gives a warning call to other litterers [...]
Apple has finally started to branch out into what is a major chunk of their earning region. Hong Kong, Taiwan and Vietnam are among the dozen new countries where Apple has just launched their iTunes store for music and movies. Other countries include Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand. If you are asking then the answer is no, India was not included.
The company has left out India from the mix, possibly in comparison to the number of account holders. Hopefully, they can roll out the store in the coming months.
Meizu is one company that kept its hype going since the beginning. With the launch of their new Meizu MX Quad Core the company is yet again trying to prove that it is not behind when it comes to staying up to date. Called the MX Quad-core, this new device will be powered by a Cortex-A9-based, 32nm HKMG (High-K Metal Gate) quad-core Samsung Exynos chip, which supposedly clocks in at 1.5 GHz.
Meizu claims the battery life is 20% better compared to the dual core MX, also the upgraded 1700 mAh battery probably plays a major role in that aspect. Other specs include a 4-inch 960 x 640 ASV display, an 8 MP BSI camera. 32GB [...]
Hong Kong celebrity Angelababy who is also the Brand Ambassador for Panasonic has accidentally posted the picture of the company’s next wonder on none other than, the popular Instagram. The G1x was not well received by the audience so hopefully panasonic can make a mark with this new camera. The specs are still in the rumor mill and the GF5 will supposedly feature a 12-megapixel sensor but with a better signal-to-noise ratio and a higher ISO 12800, it’ll also have a much sharper LCD with 920k dots (instead of just 460k on the GF3).
Meizu has been in the news since the invent of the iPhone, a company trying to take down Apple at what it does best. But with announcements and corp take downs, legal action suits and what not. The MX is a successor to the M9 announced last year, this dual core model will be available in mainland China starting from ¥2,999 ($470) on January 1st, with a quad core coming later.
Spec list now includes a 4-inch 960 x 640 ASV display, 1.4GHz Samsung Exynos 4210 dual core chip, 1GB of LPDDR2 RAM, 16GB of storage, 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera, a secondary mic for noise cancellation and a 1,600mAh battery. The device is [...]

(Update: thanks janish for the time fix)
Looks like we finally have confirmation that the Galaxy Nexus Prime and the Ice Cream Sandwich release, which were earlier to be released on the 11th of Oct will now be released on the 19th of Oct 2011. The event has been moved to the 19th and some are speculating that despite Google and Samsung used Steve Jobs’ passing as an excuse the real reason was their FCC clearance delays.
Either way we will have more on this shorty, and expect full coverage during launch time.
