American technology giant Google has been quietly working on an operating system called Fuchsia OS. The secret project first went live on GitHub as an open-source project back in 2016. Most noticeably, the Fuchsia OS, unlike Android and Chrome OS, does not use Linux Kernel. In fact, it uses the Zircon kernel that is derived from “Little Kernel”. Little Kernel is an operating system that was intended for embedded systems. Recently an update in the GitHub project repository reveals that a Huawei engineer was successfully able to boot Fuchsia OS on the Honor Play which features the Kirin 970 SoC.Honor & Fuchsia OS

When it comes to Smartphones, misleading benchmarks has become a commonplace. Last year, OnePlus and Meizu were under scrutiny for manipulating the test results of some of their devices on AnTuTu and Geekbench. Now, Huawei and Honor have been caught cheating on benchmarks. And as a result, some of their handsets have been delisted from some prominent benchmarking platforms like UL Benchmarks, Futuremark and 3DMark. For now, devices removed are Huawei P20 Pro, Nova 3, and Honor Play. The news generated some flak on twitter.

Continuing the trend, Honor is currently one of the top-selling brands globally, including the Indian market. At an event in India today, the company announced three devices, its gaming smartphone, the Honor Play. The smartphone will make its way to India via an exclusive Amazon sale on 6th August from 4 PM. The company first launched the smartphone in China via an event in Beijing on 31st July 2018.
