Apple has just announced the official date of the iOS 5 release. The latest version of the Apple iOS firmware will hit downloads on the 12th of October 2011.

Looks like someone managed to snap the images of a test iPhone 5 in the US. Images from a man claiming to have spotted an Apple employee field testing the iPhone 5 have surfaced. Although the images are really blurry, one can easily make out the Apple logo at the back along with the curvaceous back rumored for the iPhone 5.Â
