Asus Releases Official Renders Of The Upcoming ZenFone Max Pro M2

The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 was launched earlier this year. Due to its class-leading features like the 5,000 mAh battery and dual rear cameras, it was a big hit among Indian consumers. For some time, Asus has been teasing a successor to the smartphone. Recently, the company has shared an official teaser of the upcoming smartphone on twitter. The teaser provides some insight about what we can expect from the new phone.

The teaser reveals that the display of the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 has a notch up top and the earpiece cutout is placed right above it. The notch at the front houses the front-facing camera and what appears to be the ambient light sensor. Another important detail that the teaser reveals is three cameras at the back. The two rear camera sensors in the setup are clearly visible while another circular cropped shape suggests of a third rear sensor. Additionally, it seems that the phone has a Glass back which is unlike its predecessor; the ZenFone Max Pro M1. Initial impressions of the smartphone suggest that it will have thin bezels and a high screen-to-body ratio.

    Alleged Specifications

Other technical details of the ZenFone Max Pro M2 are currently unavailable. However, recent leaks suggest that Asus will launch two variants of the ZenFone Max M2. The leak was shared by Twitter user Roland Quandt. The Twitter user is a trustworthy source as leaks shared by him in the past have mostly turned out to be real. • OnePlus 6 Red To Launch On July 2nd

OnePlus 6 Red To Launch On July 2nd

The OnePlus 6 was launched in India on May 17th. Even at the launch, the smartphone was unveiled in three colours, the most for any OnePlus smartphone. In India, the company went a step further and launched the OnePlus 6 Avengers Limited Edition. Keeping up with the trend of launching special edition colour variants, the OnePlus 6 Red will launch on July 2nd.

OnePlus posted a teaser on Twitter seemingly confirming the existence of a red coloured OnePlus 6. The smartphone is expected to have the same all-glass design along with a notched display. Since its launch, the build quality and design (despite the notch) have been praised by critics and consumers alike. The OnePlus 6 is already available in Midnight Black, Mirror Black, and Silk White.

    OnePlus 6 Avengers

It’ll be interesting to see if the OnePlus 6 Red will be available in both the variants or just the higher-end model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The OnePlus 6 Silk White is only available in the 128GB storage model while the Midnight Black and Mirror Black are available in both the variants. Apart from the new colour, all other specifications will remain the same for the new variant.

The OnePlus 6 has a 6.28 inch Optic AMOLED display with a 2280 x 1080 px resolution. The aspect ratio is 19:9 which means it is slightly taller than the OnePlus 5T.

Must Read: Unboxing The OnePlus 6

The 6 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset which has an octa-core processor clocked at 2.8GHz. Coupled with the flagship chipset is either 6GB or 8GB of RAM with three storage options of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. The storage is still not user-expandable just like every other OnePlus device. The fingerprint sensor is still placed on the rear but, it has a more oval shape this time around.

Powering the device is a 3300 mAh battery with Dash Charge support. Dash Charge continues to be one of the fastest charging technologies and could be the reason why OnePlus did not think that wireless charging was necessary here. Out of the box, the OnePlus 6 runs Android 8.1 Oreo with OxygenOS on top. The smartphone has gesture support. The company has announced that users will be able to download Android P Developer’s Preview from the OnePlus website soon.

The dual-camera on the OnePlus 6 includes a 16MP Sony IMX 519 sensor and a 20MP Sony IMX 376K sensor. Both are RGB sensors and have an f/1.7 aperture with OIS, another first for a OnePlus device. The cameras also record 4K videos at 60fps which is a great feature for content creators. To the front of the smartphone is a 16MP Sony IMX 371 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and EIS which records 1080P videos.

The OnePlus 6 Red will give consumers another option to choose from. With the Xiaomi Mi 8 possibly launching in India in July and undercutting the OnePlus 6, OnePlus would want to play its cards right to maintain the dominance in the affordable flagship segment.

  • Lenovo’s Next Flagship Smartphone Will Be Tailor-Made For Notch Haters

Lenovo’s Next Flagship Smartphone Will Be Tailor-Made For Notch Haters

The smartphone industry, every year, is dominated by a certain trend that is usually overdone by many OEMs. The launch of the iPhone 7 Plus propelled smartphone makers into launching dual-camera devices in late-2016. With the launch of the iPhone X, we are seeing an increasing number of smartphone vendors embracing the notch. However, Lenovo appears to be set on a less trodden path and go with a traditional design for its new flagship smartphone.

Lenovo’s Vice President Chang Cheng shared a teaser image of the company’s upcoming flagship device on his Weibo page. The company’s next flagship smartphone is expected to launch on June 14th. Accompanying the image was a poll, asking users to predict the screen-to-body ratio of the smartphone, with “95% or more” being the biggest option.

The front of the smartphone is visible in the image but, only partially. However, enough of the smartphone is visible to incur that the new device won’t have a notch like the iPhone X or Huawei P20 Pro. It appears that Lenovo has taken the Samsung route with its new flagship smartphone. The astonishing part is the lack of bezels on the side and the top of the smartphone. The top bezel is almost invisible, much like the chin of the iPhone X.

Bezels around the display, however, have a purpose and aren’t just there for OEMs to remove and show “progress.” The bezels house the earpiece, sensors and the front-facing camera. From the looks of it, Lenovo might have the gone the Xiaomi route with this by making the bottom bezel a bit thicker and house the front-facing camera in it. This could be the reason why the bottom bezel was not revealed in the teaser.

    Mi MIX 2

The launch of the flagship device is still over a month away. The image does increase the interest in this smartphone especially considering the slew of smartphones that sport a notch these days.

  • Huawei P20 Pro India Launch Teased By Huawei On Twitter

Huawei P20 Pro India Launch Teased By Huawei On Twitter

On the 27th of March, Huawei launched the Huawei P20 Pro and P20 at an event in Paris. The smartphones were subsequently listed on Huawei India’s official website but, there was no confirmation about their launch in India. Now, Huawei India has posted a teaser on Twitter which hints at the launch of the Huawei P20 Pro and P20 in India.

The Huawei P20 has a starting price of 649 Euros (Rs 52000 approx.) while the P20 Pro costs 899 Euros (Rs 72000). In India, however, the smartphones are expected to be priced much more competitively. For reference, we expect the Huawei P20 Pro to be priced closer to the Samsung Galaxy S9.

    Huawei P20 Pro

Huawei P20 Pro: A Triple-Camera Flagship Like No Other

The Huawei P20 Pro, months before its official launch, started gaining attention for its possible camera implementation. The rumours were confirmed at the launch when the P20 Pro was unveiled with a triple-camera setup on the back. Moreover, the camera implementation is not just a gimmick and every sensor solves its purpose. The Huawei P20 Pro has a 3X optical zoom compared to the 2X zoom found in most smartphones.

The smartphone has a 6.1 inch OLED display with a 2280 x 1080 px resolution. Under the hood, the smartphone has the HiSilicon Kirin 970 Octa-core chipset with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The P20 Pro also has a notch on the top portion of the display. However, Huawei has included an option for either enabling or disabling the notch via software which should please everyone on the “notch spectrum.”

    Huawei P20 Pro

Powering the smartphone is a 4000 mAh battery with SuperCharge technology. The smartphone, however, misses out on wireless charging despite its all-glass build. One more thing that is unique about the Huawei P20 and the P20 Pro is the design. Just like most of the flagship smartphone these devices have an all-glass design with a one of a kind Twilight finish, which makes the smartphone alter colour in different lighting condition.

  • OnePlus 6 Teaser Reveals Its Similarities With The OnePlus 5T

OnePlus 6 Teaser Reveals Its Similarities With The OnePlus 5T

Continuing the trend of teasing different aspects of a smartphone before the launch, OnePlus has posted an interesting image on Twitter. The OnePlus 6 is expected to launch in the coming weeks and a lot of specifications and design elements have already leaked. The image posted by OnePlus reveals its new flagship smartphone won’t be too different in size from the OnePlus 5T.

Just like the company did before the OnePlus 5T launch, the OnePlus 6 is kept underneath the OnePlus 5T signifying the similarity in size of both the phones. This time around, the OnePlus 6 is expected to have even more screen real estate than the OnePlus 5T thanks to a notch on top. Another interesting bit that this image reveals is the placement of hardware buttons on the OnePlus 6. Unlike the OnePlus 5T and previous OnePlus smartphones, the Alert Slider appears to be placed on the right-hand side of the 6. OnePlus has already teased added functionalities of the Alter Slider and this change in placement surely confirms that.

There have been rumours that the 6 will have an all-glass design and even feature wireless charging. Although that seems like a fair bet, OnePlus, as of now, has not hinted towards that feature or build quality.
    OnePlus 6

This year, the company will launch the OnePlus 6 in three different variants. Two variants will be similar to the OnePlus 5T with 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage. These models will be priced between Rs 33,999- 36,999 and Rs 38,999-42,999, respectively. There will also be a special edition called the OnePlus 6 Premium, which will have 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. OnePlus 6 Will Allow Users To Control Camera Using The Alert Slider

The OnePlus 6 is following the pattern of its predecessors. Up until a few weeks ago, there was barely any chatter about the OnePlus and now, we appear to be close to its official launch. As of now, the company has confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and also support gestures for navigation. And now, OnePlus has released a new teaser hinting towards advanced functionalities of its infamous Alert Slider. According to the teaser, the Alert Slider on the OnePlus 6 will let users focus on a subject while using the camera app.

The alert slider on the OnePlus 6 is expected to have dual click support similar to the one found on the Sony Xperia XZ2. However, unlike the Xperia XZ2’s dedicated shutter button, the alert slider may not double as a shutter button. It is worth noting that OnePlus is the only Android smartphone maker to consistently use an alert slider since the OnePlus 2. It is one of the features that has been appreciated by many OnePlus users. With more functionalities being added to the slider, it appears the Alert Slider will gain more popularity with the OnePlus 6. It will also be interesting to see if the slide to focus feature will work with third-party apps like Snapchat, VSCO etc.

Lately, we have learned that the OnePlus 6 Premium could cost up to Rs 48,999. The Premium version is expected to have 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. In fact, this is expected to be the OnePlus 6 limited Avengers Edition. Unlike every year, the company is might launch three flagship models with different storage and RAM combinations. The 6GB RAM and 64GB storage will be priced between Rs 33,999-36,999, and the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage will be priced between Rs Rs 38,999-42,999, respectively.

With the OnePlus 6, the company will re-introduce an all-glass design. In fact, the smartphone is also expected to support wireless charging as it has a glass back panel. Apart from the OnePlus 6, the company might also launch a pair of Bluetooth earphones. Huawei also introduced its own pair of truly wireless earbuds, the Freebuds at the P20 Pro launch. In fact, the leaked document does speak about these earphones, but no pricing has been mentioned.

Black Shark is a Xiaomi-backed smartphone company that has been teasing its upcoming gaming smartphone for the past few weeks. The newly released teaser from the company has a Fencing theme, which hints towards the gaming capabilities of the smartphone. The teaser also hints that the smartphone will have a metal unibody design. Having a metal body does have some advantages in a gaming smartphone, as metal is a good conductor of heat, which helps to dissipate the heat of the smartphone.

The teaser shows half a side of the Black Shark smartphone with a power button and a SIM tray. The teaser also reveals a single antenna band on the top of the smartphone. The teaser also has a sentence, which roughly translates to ‘Born to Compete’, which means the device could have flagship level specifications at an affordable price.

The Black Shark is expected to have a 6 inch display with a 2160 x 1080 px resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the smartphone might be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset with 8GB RAM and 32GB storage. However, the company might also launch the Xiaomi BlackShark with either 64GB or 128GB storage.

Out of the box, the smartphone might run on Android 8.0 Oreo. However, whether it will run MIUI or some other custom skin on top is unclear. There are rumours that the Black Shark will feature one of a kind aviation class cooling system with additional tweaks to keep the device cool at all the time. The trend of gesture-based navigation has picked up ever since the iPhone X was launched. In fact, companies like Xiaomi and OnePlus have already introduced gestures for navigation on their smartphones. The OnePlus 5T is the only smartphone from OnePlus, as of now, to support gesture-based navigation albeit, via Open Beta ROM. However, Xiaomi has started introducing gesture-based navigation in their new MIUI 9.5 update. The gesture-based navigation has an added advantage on devices which have a taller display, allowing users to eliminate the software navigation keys to offer a larger screen real estate to users.

  • OnePlus 6 Launch Imminent As Company Releases Official Teaser

OnePlus 6 Launch Imminent As Company Releases Official Teaser

Up until now, there were many rumours and speculations about the OnePlus 6 and its existence. In the last few days, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that the OnePlus 6 is coming with a notch. And now, the company has released an official teaser which says ‘speed you need 6’, which hints towards the imminent launch of the smartphone.

The OnePlus 6 will be the next flagship smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker. OnePlus has been known to produce low-cost flagship smartphones with almost stock OxygenOS based on the latest Android version. However, according to a recent report, the OnePlus 6 could be the costliest OnePlus smartphone ever with a price of about Rs 34000 for the base variant. The OnePlus 6 is expected to have a glass back and a 19:9 display with a notch should explain the price hike of the device.

The OnePlus 6 will have a 6.28 inch Optic OLED display with 2280 x 1080 px resolution.  The notch will house the earpiece, front camera, and other sensors. However, we cannot rule out the possibility of a much more advanced facial recognition technology which will require extra sensors. In such a case, not a lot of people should have an issue with the notch. Considering OnePlus’s previous devices, the OnePlus 6 will have Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection on both the sides.

Carl Pei tweeted this after The Verge published their story. However, that did not bode well with many OnePlus fans and he, later on, deleted the tweet. It appears that not everyone is ready to love the notch yet.

Under the hood, the device will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Octa-core chipset with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Going by the previous leak, there might be a model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage as well. Additionally, there will be no support for SD card.
