November 11th, 2018 marked the centenary of the end of World War I or the Great War as we know it. The end was brought about by an armistice which was signed between the Allies and the German powers which ended the fighting on the western front. The treaty of Versailles, which came into effect an year later, officially ended all aspects of the war. People all over the world paid their respects to the lives lost in the war.
