The annual iPhone launch event hosted by Apple is set to take place at the Steve Jobs Theatre in San Cupertino, California in less than 3 hours and. The event starts at 10 a.m. PDT/10:30 p.m. IST and will stream live on Apple Inc.’s website. The stream can be watched live here. It is worth noting that the live stream uses Apple’s HLS technology. Earlier today, Apple announced with an official statement, that the company will discontinue the iPod Nano and iPod shuffle. The company spokesperson made the following statement in an e-mail, “Today, we are simplifying our iPod lineup with two models of iPod touch now with double the capacity starting at just $199 and we are discontinuing the iPod shuffle and iPod nano.”

Apple has revealed the latest iteration of the iPod Nano, which comes with the new lightning corrector. It’s 5.4mm thin, which is a third thinner than the previous generation.
The physical controls are on the side, and there’s a 2.5-inch multitouch display. There’s an FM tuner with a DVR; pause live radio and go back and listen.
Fitness and pedometer built in, which the current nano has as well. Also Bluetooth, which is new and great.
According to the latest rumours, Apple is expected to announce new products in its iPod Touch lineup at a major press event on Wednesday (September 12), including a new model featuring a larger 4-inch display.

Apple’s WWDC Event has just kicked off and Tim Cook has just announced that the Apple App Store has hit 650,000 apps and over $5 billion have been payed out to App Developers. 225,000 of these apps are specific to the iPad. Customers have downloaded 30 billion of the apps since they became an option four years ago.
Apple also wants its developers to know that they are taken care of.
