Reports are coming in that HTC is indeed about to sell its stake back to Beats. In 2010, HTC owned 50 percent of Beats, before selling half last year for $150 million. The remaining 25 percent has increased in price considerably since then, as the new deal will close at $265 million.
It seems that Beats has already taken on a new partner in the form of Carlyle Group, which is said to be investing $500 million into Beat’s expansion efforts.

The known headphone maker Beats is reportedly attempting to buy back HTC’s 25 percent stake in the company. As per the Wall Street Journal’s report, Beats is looking to bring in a new investor to provide “fresh funds for growth,” and plans on buying back HTC’s stake at the same time. Although HTC bought a $300 million, 50.1 percent stake in Beats back in 2011, the headphone maker paid $150 million to take half of that stake back last year.

HTC Rezound has come into the lime-light due to a bunch of the device’s cases going up for pre-order. Just after we received official announcement of the HTC + Beats by Dre Partnership, news of the first Beats by Dre phone has just waled through the door and smacked us in the face. HTC Vigor will have a 4.3 inch screen and a 720p HD display, thats right a 1280 x 720 resolution on a 4.3 inch screen. It will also have a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. Vigor will run HTC Sense 3.5 UI on top of Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.
