The lightweight aluminum construction, distinct design, blazing performance and somewhat affordable price combined to make a mid-range device that was in many ways more desirable and accessible than the One X, the HTC One S didn’t reach the level of success that HTC expected.
Both the HTC One S and One X began their lives with the same Android 4.0.3 software running Sense 4.0. But, as flagship products tend to, the One X got more love from the Taiwanese manufacturer, while the middle child played second fiddle, receiving sporadic updates that finally petered out.
While the HTC [...]
Good news for those with the HTC One X, One X+ and One S. HTC posted a note on Facebook that they plan on bringing the new Sense 5.0 to the devices. Timing is unknown and so are the specific Sense 5.0 features. HTC also stated that some of the features will appear, but not all. Most likely we’ll see BlinkFeed appear and hopefully parts of the new Zoe camera feature but not all, as the HTC One has upgraded camera technology onboard to support them.

HTC is bringing Jelly Bean to its 2012 suite of devices fairly soon. This is known, but the company outlined its plans for these, and earlier devices, today in a FAQ on its support site.
According to the Taiwanese company, the One X and One S will receive Android 4.1 with Sense 4+ first, likely by the end of this year, with other devices such as the Amaze, Sensation and Raider coming later. Devices with 512MB of RAM, which include the recently-released One V and Desire C, will not be upgraded to Jelly Bean, as they want to ”ensure each of our products has the optimal user experience.” Jelly Bean, with its Project Butter additions, requires [...]
While it may not be the best phone to buy in India, the One S will now globally come with a special edition moniker swell. Just after an apparent success of the HTC One X Fashion edition, the HTC One S will also be branded, slapped in a white coat along with a bump in storage, will be called a special edition. The HTC One S Special Editions’s new color is called the unicorn white and will feature the S4 variant of the SoC unlike the S3 available in India.
The downside to the HTC One S Special Edition is that it will mostly be targeted for Hometown, Taiwan users and it may never hit the Indian shores, officially [...]

Apple has filed a third challenge against HTC on June 4th claiming claims HTC is still violating patents with their new One series devices. If this case goes anywhere near success, Apple would slap down 29 devices including the new One Series, the One X, the One V and the One S. A full list of implicated handsets is in the source link below.
The latest suit contains a quote by Steve Jobs.
[quote]We can sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions, or we can do something about it. We’ve decided to do something about it, We think competition is healthy, but competitors should create their own original technology, not steal [...]
HTC has confirmed the launch of the HTC one S in India, claiming that the “One X equivalent – smartphone” will launch in India on the 5th of June for a price of Rs. 32,198. The One S was supposed to be launched with the One X and One V on 2nd April but was delayed.
Everyone looking forward to the device should be aware that the block color suffers from the micro arc oxidation problem and therefore, may not be the best choice for color.
