Xiaomi has been long awaited to launch the Mi A3 and the Mi A3 Lite which will succeed the Mi A2 and the Mi A2 Lite from last year. A freshly shared Tweet by a senior Xiaomi executive has confirmed the existence of the two smartphones. While the Tweet does not reveal any details of either device, past reports have claimed that the two handset will be the rebadged CC9 and CC9 Lite which were launched in China, earlier this month. Noteworthy, unlike the CC9 smartphones, the Mi A3 lineup will run on the stock version of Android operating system rather than MIUI.

The device, as it was running on the Android One program, boasted of guaranteed major software updates for two years; and security updates for at least three years. The company then followed up with the second iteration of the handset by launching the Mi A2 last year. Now, the latest reports reveal that the company is gearing up for the launch of its successors, which will be called the Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite.
