Google had released Android 9 Pie several months back. The update was first released for Pixel devices and then later optimised for non-Pixel devices. The rollout of these updates to Chinese companies that run custom skins on their devices take some time. Recently, the Mi 8 pro has been spotted on Geekbench running Android 9 Pie. As the Mi 8 runs on Xiaomi’s own Android based firmware, it will get updated to Android Pie based MIUI 10. Xiaomi has confirmed that a May 31st event to celebrate 8 years of the company will be held in China. The Xiaomi Mi 8 will launch at the event along with a few other products. The Mi Band 3 has also been rumoured to launch at the event. The company has taken to Twitter to confirm that the next iteration of MIUI will also launch at the May 31st event.
