The quest for mainstream acceptance is a difficult one for CyanogenMOD and its open-source peers. Users have to sift through countless forums and lists of instructions to learn how to root and hack their Android phones, often with disastrous results. While the initiation process is getting easier, it’s still not as easy as we’d like.
CyanogenMOD has been great about installing features for existing users that make their lives easier. They had a Do Not Disturb mode long before Apple or Samsung, and integrated quick settings into the notification bar long before HTC. Now, they’re [...]
Steve Kondik and the CyanogenMod team usually are really quick in bringing latest updates for Android to existing users. According to the team a few minor tweaks are needed to merge Google’s latest with the custom Android code, making CyanogenMod 10 easy to release.
According to the team any device that runs CyanogenMod 9 will also run CyanogenMod 10 easy. Stay tuned for more updates.

Proud owner of the Samsung Galaxy Note? This should interest your anxious thought process. A new rom based on CM9 will give your Note the most anticipated ICS update well ahead of schedule. The Rom will not retain full pen functionality and all of the S-Pen input is currently not available. This build is also lacking a working camera app and Bluetooth radio functionality. Either way a ROM with more stabler features can be expected soon.
The one thing to note is that Samsung will soon release their updates for ICS to their own Android device arsenal, this will also include an update for the Galaxy Note, which will [...]
A command line based project released by lithid-cm has the ability to go any user the power to create their own CM Roms. Called the CyanogenMod Compiler (CMC) it currently is in the test phase and allows only basic tweaks to a CM ROM including the ability to eliminate languages, wallpapers and tweak themes. The general idea is to be able to develop your own custom ROM without the need for dependence on anyone.

The Kindle fire is already been rooted and in an easy process at that. The smart folks at XDA-Developers have found a way to root the Barnes and Noble tablet. The root is permanent and will stay even if you reboot the device. The boot loader still remains locked but the process allows you to side load apps and possibly custom rome and kernels to boost performance.

The folks over at Rootzwiki and the Touchdroid team (whatever is left of it anyway) has finally managed to get CM7 running on the Touchpad, worth noting. The device looks be be running pretty smoothly with most of the aspects working well including Skype calling.
Note that the build is still alpha and while most things work there is a high chance that things can go wrong. Head over to the link below if you feel like doing it anyway.

lusModders are getting it on with inductive charging mods using hardware from old PALM PREs. First it is a Samsung Galaxy S Plus. German IT student Qian Qin ripped apart a palm pre back cover and installed it on his device. The result is a physically indifferent device which now charges wirelessly. check out the video below.
Next it is the new Samsung Galaxy S2 variant Epic 4G Touch . This modder hacked his 3 day old device to charge via the dock using bolder moves. cutting open the back cover and soldering [...]

How many times have you had to get off your beanbag to change the disc in your Xbox 360? Well those days are past. Ben Heck, self styled modder, tinkerer and designer, the creator of such wondrous mods as the PS3 laptop and the portable Ninetendo 64, has come out with another great mod. He’s taken an old 100 CD changer and combined it with an Xbox 360 creating a version of the console that can store 100 discs.
As we get more and more used to downloading and viewing content, changing discs seems so yesterday. As we all know, progress breeds laziness, and if that’s true, this mod marks true progress.
The latest version of iOS 4.3.2 was released by Apple just days after the jailbreak for the iOS 4.3.1 came out. But, in an exciting turn of events looks like the newest version is still vulnerable to i0n1c’s untethered jailbreak method. Although a lot of failures occurred and the Dev-Team decided to pull the iPhone 4 jailbreak from redsn0w, leaving iPhone 4 users to rely on a tethered jailbreak, atleast till i0n1c has a chance to fix the venerability patch for iPhone 4.
You can download the latest version of Redsn0w Here.
Please Note : Jailbreak does not mean unlock, if [...]
