Motorola revealed early this the year that they’re launching several new smartphones in 2017. After the launch of the Moto Z2 Play last week, latest leaks point to several new devices in the pipeline- Moto G5S Plus, Moto Z2 Force and Moto X4. The earliest to launch is rumored to be the Moto X4.

If leaks are to be believed, this device will be launched on June 30th at a price of Rs.Rs 20,999. Reports suggest that the new Moto X4 may be powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset along with 4GB of RAM and internal storage of 64GB. It is may even have AI onboard.  The most interesting rumour is that the new Moto X4 is likely to be IP68 certified, which is something that has remained missing from Moto devices.

While these features sound interesting, the initial leaks had also pointed to a glass design and a metal chassis featuring a 5.5 inch display with a 3D glass top. Latest rumours are now claiming that its a 5.2 inch Full HD display with a 1920 x 1080p resolution.

The smartphone is also tipped to feature a dual camera setup dubbed as ‘SmartCam’ which is rumoured to have two 13-megapixel sensors, one with f/1.7 and the other with f/2.2 aperture. Leaked images have also shown a dual LED-flash on the rear camera and an LED-flash on the front camera.

The Moto X4 may come equipped with a 3,800mAh battery with a fast charge option. We’re keeping an ear out for more. Meanwhile, check out our hands on with the new Moto Z2 Play here.

I am presently using a Moto X 2013 (XT1052 – first ever Moto X) and I can say with experience that Motorola is a fabulous brand not only in terms of ease-of-device use but also in terms of build quality, software + hardware integration and tonnes of technical features which the guys at Motorola don’t even advertise that make this device a good phone foremost and then some. I have used Moto Defy for two years prior to this too – another great phone. So I have been a long time Motorola user and a very happy one at that considering I am not the one to be easily pleased and always nitpick. That’s why I can’t wait to see (possibly purchase) the new Moto X4. Like its specs – prefer small screens like 4.7″ within a 65.3mm width in my Moto X – but lets see how 5.2″ fits my hand. I request the igyaan team to find out if the X4 is slated to be upgraded further to Android O cuz that will be like a cherry on the cake.
