The much awaited Xiaomi Mi Band 3 has been launched today. The fitness tracker is the successor to the immensely successful Mi Band 2. The new Mi Band 3 has a bigger display, more features and a lot of reasons for Xiaomi fans to be happy. The device is priced at Rs 1,999.

Design:

The Mi Band 3 sports a 1.9 cm (0.78 inch) OLED touchscreen. This is a huge jump in display size as compared to the Xiaomi Mi Band 2, 85% to be exact. The Mi Band is essentially a capsule, which is mounted on a wearable band, allowing you to use it. The removable feature also lets you swap between bands of different colours easily. The Mi Band 2 used to fall out of its band very easily. However, Xiaomi has fixed the issue with the Mi Band 3. The capsule is very easy to push into the band but is comparatively tougher to take out, therefore reducing the chances of it falling out.

The device weighs around 20 grams and you really don’t feel it sitting on your hand. You can navigate through the different features by swiping up, down, right and left. This takes you through various menus each with a list of features. The device can be connected to your phone via the Mi Fit application, which stores all the information necessary. The Mi Band 3 can measure your heart rate, your step count, calories burnt, has a stop watch and much more.

Features:

The pedometer on the device measures the number of steps you have taken and you can set a daily goal for yourself too. The pedometer is fairly accurate and records all your movements efficiently. The heart rate sensor in the device is not totally reliable but does give you a rough estimate regarding the same. The device also has a calorie counter and displays the distance you have covered. The Mi Band 3 also tracks your sleep and gives you an analysis on the Mi Fit app.

The Mi Band 3 also has a stopwatch and displays the weather for the next three days. The device also has three customisable watch faces, helping you find your style. A few splashes in the pool or getting caught in the rain will not be a problem as the Mi Band 3 is water resistant up to 50m. The device claims a battery life of 20 days.

The Mi Band 3 has been launched at a price of Rs 1,999. You can also watch our detailed video below:
