Popular Indian consumer electronics retail chain Croma has partnered with Intel to launch two new Windows 8.1 Tablets – The Croma 1179 Tablet (8″ variant) and The Croma 1177 2-in-1 (10.1″ variant) at a price of Rs. 13,990 and Rs. 21,990 respectively. These tablets will be available at Croma’s retail stores and official website, in the near future.

Gregory Bryant, Vice President and General Manager, Intel Asia-Pacific and Japan, said, “We are excited to be working with Croma to bring these new mobile devices to consumers in India. Croma’s tablets and 2 in 1s based on Intel processors deliver superior computing performance and great battery life to keep pace with today’s mobile lifestyle.”

The new products have been priced competitively with the smaller sibling costing Rs 13,999. At this price, it’s the most affordable 8-inch Windows tablet in India with the nearest competitor being the Acer Iconia W4, which is priced around Rs 4,000 more. The asking price of the Croma 1177 is Rs 21,999, which also makes it the most affordable 10.1-inch Windows-based slate. If you’re thinking of getting yourself a tablet, with which you want to get a lot of work done, it might be in your best interest to go with the Windows 8.1-powered tablets, as it additionally offers free Office productivity.
