Xiaomi Claims Mi 4c’s Front Camera Challenges the iPhone 6’s

We had earlier reported that Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi 4c was looking to challenge OnePlus 2 with its own USB Type C port. Now the Chinese company looks like it wants to take on Apple as well. We know that the Mi 4c will come with a 5-megapixel front camera, but the company’s president and co-founder, Lin Bin, wanted to show just how good the front camera will be by calling out the iPhone 6 for a face-off.

According to the images posted by Lin Bin on Weibo, the Mi 4c front camera will feature an 85-degree super wide angle, that will be able to fit a lot more people into the frame than what the iPhone 6 can. It was also revealed that the Mi 4c will have a self timer option.

The above selfie shared by Lin Bin shows a comparison between the Mi 4c’s front camera and the iPhone 6’s front camera. As you can see, the Mi 4c comfortably frames 6 people while the iPhone 6 can not fit them in as clearly.

However, we can’t help but wonder if this comparison is a little off given that the iPhone 6 only features a 1.2-megapixel front camera. Perhaps a comparison with the new iPhone 6s that sports a 5-megapixel front camera would give a better picture of the Mi 4c’s camera.

Other features of the upcoming Mi 4c include a 5-inch full HD display, 13-megapixel primary camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 with a hexa-core processor. The smartphone will be launched on 22nd of September 2015.

For those of you gearing to buy a new phone for a while now, the universe might have just offered the best opportunity so far. If there was a perfect time to buy a new iPhone, it is now. The iPhone 6 64 GB is available for an unexpected Rs. 51,000 on Amazon. The website shows the iPhone 6 Plus 16 GB at Rs.51,000, while an iPhone 5c 8 GB at around Rs.23,000.

Considering the fact that the16GB version of Apple iPhone 6 was initially launched at Rs. 53,500, while the 64GB version priced at Rs. 62,500, this is a major price cut.

Even though Apple itself has made no official announcements regarding the drop in price of its last iPhones, the internet has aptly conveyed the news. The prices are likely to fall further over the course of next three days, especially on 9th September.

New Leaked Video of the Apple iPhone 6s Tells All

This is perhaps the most exciting leak for today – the much anticipated iPhone 6S has now been leaked. There is a video and some images showing us all we need to know, about the upcoming iPhone’s exciting features, such as, the Force Touch and the A9 chipset.

The images are said to reveal an iPhone 6s logic board with components such as the rear shell and battery, both of which enable the device to display a screen showing a gear icon. The video shows us the boot up process, logic board, LTE baseband modem and its radio frequency transceiver chip.

The first feature that we are most excited about, is perhaps the Force Touch, but the device that has been leaked does not prove the existence of the feature yet. However, there are some differences that have been noticed in this device, as compared to the iPhone 6, such as the shielding on the rear of the display being glued in place rather than screwed in.

Secondly, the pictures apparently also suggest that the iPhone 6s logic board will include Qualcomm’s WTR3925 radio frequency transceiver chip, in order to pair with the new modem for better cellular network.

Last but not the least, the pictures received by the source unfortunately do not show the presence of an A9 chip. The logic board seems to be a pre-production product unit and hence is said to be missing the A9 stamp and markings that could have revealed how much RAM is included in the package.

All this information however, has not been confirmed by Apple itself. So we will just have to wait until September 9th to see the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. The event is also rumoured to feature announcements including a revamped Apple TV with support for Siri control and third-party apps.

Here’s a New Fuel Battery That Can Make Your iPhone Last a Week

New reports suggest that a British company called Intelligent Energy, has cracked the fuel cell miniaturization code,so that now, it can even fit in a hydrogen battery into an iPhone 6, without disturbing it’s original rechargeable battery inside. The hydrogen battery is said to have the ability to keep the iPhone 6 going up to an entire week without having to charge it.

The only inconvenience that has been spotted, is the fact that there will be some water vapour emitted through vents at the back. Intelligent Energy has not yet confirmed the pricing of the device but as of now, the prototype iPhone 6 with the weeklong fuel cell battery is recharged via an adapted audio jack socket.

Apple iPhone 6s Release Date Leaked

As we get closer to the release date of Apple’s newest iPhone, there are several speculative reports suggesting the tentative day we might be able to get our hands on the smartphone. A recent report suggests that major German carriers are planning to launch the iPhone 6s on September 18th 2015. However, the companies have not been identified yet, though it is known that O2, Vodafone and T-Mobile already carry the iPhone 6.

This indicates that people living in first-tier launch countries will be able to purchase the phone from stores on 18th September. While the announcement event of the phone remains unchanged for 9th September.

According to previous reports, Apple is expected to reveal two iPhones on the 9th of September 2015 and then ship them later that month. The phone will be shipped to Apple’s ‘first-tier’ countries – Germany, Australia, Canada, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, the U.K. and the U.S, and mainland China.

As a small recap – the device is rumoured to have a Force Touch display, an “A9” processor, and 2 GB of RAM. Watch this space for more updates.

The gadget is small enough to fit in a wallet, without jutting out and can connect to the iPhone via Bluetooth. It is said to have a slot for your second SIM and has a battery that lasts for up to 150 hours.

To activate this, there is a special iOS app that lets you manage the Piece SIM. This device also allows you to locate your handset when the two devices are more than 30 feet apart. So in case you forget to carry your Piece, your iPhone automatically beeps, in order to remind you that you’re forgetting something important and vice versa in case you leave your iPhone – then your Piece starts beeping.

The campaign has is around the corner and has already amassed a healthy amount of $35,000. The device is small and affordable at $70, that is, around Rs.4,533, and is said to start shipping sometime around September.

The Piece is also compatible with Android devices and will also release an Apple Watch App as soon as it crosses $100,000 in funding.

New Leaks Of the iPhone 6S Show Sturdier Rear Casing

The Unbox Therapy has been able to acquire the rear casing for the anticipated iPhone 6S. After having compared it with the iPhone 6, the video suggests that Apple might be switching over to a lighter and stronger aluminum casing.

Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus Face Production Delays

KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo, has reportedly said that the mass production for the Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will be delayed by one or two weeks. The orders for iPhone 6 are said to have been cut in order to allow the new models to sell faster.

However, it is said that the delay in mass production will not affect the dates when Apple introduces and launches the new smartphones. The dates are rumoured to be September 11th 2015 and September 18th 2015, for the unveiling and the launch, respectively.

Both the new devices are expected to be made of Series 7000 aluminum, a 12MP camera, a 2GB of DDR4 RAM, along with the Force Touch technology present in the Apple Watch.

Is the iPhone 6S in Trouble Even Before it Has Been Announced?

The iPhone 6 is touted as being different from all the other iPhones especially since it catered to the ‘large screen’ demand. However, the rumours about the iPhone 6S do not mention a larger screen and it is precisely this reason that has made many analysts and firms wary about it’s success and appeal.

Macquarie, a global investment banking and diversified financial services group, writes:

Since the new phone will not be a size upgrade, we are concerned that the growth simply won’t be there. We are well aware that this is incredibly simplified, but because it is simple doesn’t mean it won’t impact the growth and stock.

The ‘comp issue’ mentioned above refers to the hypothesis that – if the iPhone is already doing so well then it would be difficult for the future creations to compete with what is already available.

Piper Jaffray, an investment bank and asset management firm also has similar worries and writes that the iPhone growth is expected to go flat in CY16. It is said that because of the level of excellence that the iPhone 6 surpasses, it will continue to be successful even after the announcement of a new device. Especially because the price of the iPhone 6 will drop.

Apple is expected to release their reports earnings later today and announcements for a new iPhone is anticipated.

Apple iPhone 6S to Sport 5MP FaceTime Camera, Reveals New Leaked Documents

Over the past few weeks, we have discovered many rumors about the next iPhone, currently known as iPhone 6S. Just a few days back, a set of leaked images about the phone’s metal casing hit the web, which gave an idea of how iPhone 6S will look like. Today, a new set of documents has been leaked from Foxconn, Apple’s manufacturing partner, revealing new details about the upcoming iPhone.

According to the leaks, the iPhone 6S will sport a 5 MP FaceTime camera, which is an upgrade from the 1.2 MP camera employed by the current version. If the leak is accurate, then we will be witnessing a surge in demand for high-res selfies. Moreover, the rear camera will be upgraded to 12 MP from 8 MP, with 4K video recording capability. The phone will also be able to capture slow-motion videos at 1080p resolution, up from 720p in the current versions.

4K video-recording is currently offered in many high-end smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S6 and OnePlus One. However, what distinguishes Apple from its rivals is the software it employs in iPhone to convert the raw data into a finished product. That is why budget filmmakers use iPhone to make short films (and features) even when there are alternatives available in the market.

So far, we’ve learnt that the next iPhones will include Force Touch and a new casing to make the iPhone 6S wider, taller and stronger. The new model will run on iOS 9 and have an enhanced processor. Samsung might provide chipsets and displays for Apple’s forthcoming products, and iPhone 6S will be powered by a next-gen A9 processor and come with 2GB of RAM.

The upcoming iPhone 6s is rumored to be available in stores from 25th September this year. According to the source, pre-orders will start on 18th September, and it will go live physically on 25th September.

Apple Begins Manufacturing the New iPhone With ‘Force Touch’

According to a new report, Apple has started the manufacturing process for the new iPhone. We’re talking about the iPhone 6s which will be arriving this September. The Force Touch feature, first introduced in the Apple Watch and the new 13-inch MacBook, has been expected to be included in the new iPhone for a few months now.

‘Force Touch’ is a feature that detects the level of force in a tap and responds accordingly. For example, a light tap on the screen will perform another task than a hard tap. Tiny electrodes surrounding the Retina display sense the difference in the amount of pressure applied on screen. Thus, a user can perform simple tasks such as fast-forwarding a movie or using pressure to zoom in on a map with ease.

Apple begins production from the first of July. The company expects the production to go smoothly due to the similarities in design between the new and existing iPhone 6. Apple has spent more than two years trying to perfect ‘Force Touch’, which will enhance the user experience when using pressure-sensitive displays.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the next-gen iPhone would be thicker than the existing iPhone due to the integration of ‘Force Touch’ feature. Also, Apple is reportedly integrating support for the feature in the beta versions of iOS 9, which will allow developers to make use of ‘Force Touch’ in navigation and media controls.

Apple iPhone 6s Leak Confirms Major Camera Overhaul

Apple hasn’t said anything about the next iPhone 6 iteration, but rumours about Apple’s upcoming flagship are spreading like wild fire. Until now, speculations surfaced about the much-awaited iPhone 6s, but today, 9to5mac has confirmed the improved version under works. The online publication reporting Apple’s developments showed off some pictures of the rumoured iPhone 6s alongside other features that gives us a fair idea of what the device will look like.

The leaked pictures show iPhone 6s in a rose gold colour with a dual-lens camera at its back. It packs the most radical camera in the history of iPhone. Huawei Honor 6 Plus was the first smartphone to boast a parallel dual lens.

Next to the dual lens is a True Tone flash, which would supplement light in low-light conditions. The rose gold variant is in line with the previous rumours, which suggest that the upcoming iPhone will come in colour options to match the Apple Watch Edition. That means, we will soon come across silver and space grey variants as well.

As reported earlier by an analyst from KGI Securities, the forthcoming iPhone 6s will sport a bumped up camera of 12MP. Powered by a next-gen A9 processor, 2GB RAM will equip the device with newfangled features like Force Touch. Some of the changes the ‘iPhone 6s’ is said to include is a new design using an improved casing material and a newly resurrected inner design. One more microphone is said to be added near the new handset’s speakers in an attempt to improve sound quality.

It is highly likely that Apple will release two variants of the iPhone 6s. More leaks will emerge until Apple comes out with an official announcement.

China Overtakes US in iPhone Sales, As Apple Earnings up 33%

For the first time in the history of the iPhone, China sales of the Apple iPhone have overtaken the US sales. The increase of 71% put Apple’s revenue in the asian country to $16.8 Billion, a major chunk mostly doe to the festivities around the Chinese New Year.

The Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have been the most popular handsets from the company since the launch of the iPhone back in 2007. The last quarter results broke all records pegging the worldwide success of the handsets.

End of March 2015 Apple’s cash totaled $193.5 billion, up from $178 billion at the end of December, that is more than the total of the next top 15 companies in the Standard & Poor’s 500 list.

Apple has increased its dividend to 11%, In all, Apple pledged to return $200 billion to shareholders through buybacks and dividends by March 2017. Overall revenue rose to $58.01 billion in the second quarter ended March 28, from $45.65 billion a year earlier. That beat Wall Street’s expected revenue of $56 billion.

Apple’s latest hardware product, the Apple Watch, started shipping Friday. So far, availability is limited for the new device with Apple’s website estimating that new orders won’t be delivered until June.

Foxconn is Gearing Up to Begin Manufacturing the Apple iPhone in India

Foxconn, one of the biggest contract manufacturing firms based in Taiwan, is most popular for being the manufacturer of Apple’s iPhone. The company is now planning to set up manufacturing the Apple iPhones at its units in India.

It was reported by Economic Times that Foxconn will be manufacturing the Apple iPhone in India. The locations selected for setting up the manufacturing units include Gujarat, Noida, and a small trial unit in Andhra Pradesh. Foxconn had to previously suspend production at three units on the Chennai-Bengaluru highway due to the Microsoft-Nokia deal. The closure of those three plants resulted in the loss of hundreds of jobs; about 1,700 employees were affected.

The new manufacturing units will mark the return of Foxconn in India. The company says that it wants to establish the units to take advantage of the present government’s ‘Make in India’ policy. The trial unit in Andhra will engage in research and development of new products.

India is the third biggest mobile market in the world and is expected to take over the USA by 2017, which is just two years away. Considering this massive market, the government needs to incentivize production, as well as designing of products in the country to give a boost to Indian entrepreneurship in the field.

Apple Registers 40% Increase in India Revenue, Hits $1 Billion Mark in FY 2015

The Cupertino-based tech giant has recorded a whopping revenue of $1 billion in India in the fiscal year 2015. The present earning of the firm is 40 percent more than Rs. 4,500 crore of returns registered last year, and is three folds of the what was reported in 2011-12.

Apple hasn’t filed its final revenue details until now, but according to a source at Times of India, the firm can log the same with Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) anytime soon. Experts unfolded that the latest devices, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, have contributed largely to the sales income. With access to unit sales figures over the year and experts remark, Apple’s India revenue is computable. As per an analysis by Cybermedia Research, Apple has sold 1.3 million phones in the fiscal year 2015. Considering the high price of the latest models, it is evident that the company has made a total revenue of over $1 billion in the India market.

At a time when Apple is witnessing increased sales, Samsung is steadily losing its hold over different markets. This was Samsung’s sixth consecutive year-over-year fall in quarterly profit, where it registered 60% fall in profits over the last quarter.
