Google launched its first smart display, the Home Hub in the month of October last year. The device is a part of the Made by Google lineup and was rebranded as the Nest Hub at the Google I/O 2019. While it has been close to a year that the device has been available in a few international markets, it never made its way to the Indian shores. Until now, as the latest leak reveals that the Google Home Hub will be introduced next week in the country. Along with the information, the pricing of the device has also been revealed.

The Google Nest Hub, which was known as the Home Hub previously features a 7-inch display which can be used to display various information, playing videos and surfing the internet. It also acts as a digital photo frame and displays pictures taken from the Android smartphones or Google cloud of the home-owner. In terms of connectivity, the Nest Hub uses Wi-Fi to connect to the internet. Like all other Google Home devices, the Nest Hub also has built-in speakers and Google Assistant integration built-in. This means that users can say the catchphrase “Ok Google” to use the various functions of the display hands-free. Reports have also revealed that when introduced in India, the upcoming device will be priced Rs. 8,999, which is close to the new discounted price of the Nest Hub in the US, which is US$ 129 (Rs. 9,200).

While the former has a larger display than the 5.5 inches of the Echo Show, it does not have a camera for video calls that the latter boasts of. Also, the company has introduced the Nest Hub Max in the month of May. The latest device is an upgraded version of the Nest Hub with a larger display, better speakers and a camera intergration. The reports reveal that the Director of Design at Google, Claude Zellweger posted an image on his Instagram page which was clicked inside the company’s Design Studio. On being complemented by another Google executive, he revealed that the image has been shot at 20x zoom mode from a Pixel smartphone. Judging from the details and the quality of the image, it was deduced that it is not taken from an existing Pixel device, as they lack the hardware and software prowess to do so. Hence it is expected that the picture was clicked by the upcoming Pixel 4. It was revealed in the past that the upcoming Google flagship may sport a secondary telephoto lens. It is thus possible that the image is taken from the said lens, further enhanced using the company’s software magic.

    OnePlus 7T Pro Leaks Again

Previously, we had reported on a supposed leak of the OnePlus 7T Pro. The leak pertained images of the smartphones front panel but nothing apart from that. OnePlus 7T Pro

Similar to the previous report, the OnePlus 7T Pro showed up wrapped in a protective case again. It is assumed to be done to hide the exact design. However, according to the images, we can still make out the rear camera module of the device. The front images of the handset reveal a notchless display which is similar to its predecessor, the OnePlus 7 Pro. Its front panel features negligible bezels which are partly due to the fact that it will also houses a pop-up selfie camera.

    Whats The Difference?

On the rear, a blue coloured back panel is visible through a gap in the protective case. So, we might see a blue colour available at the time of the launch. Its rear camera module is set up in a vertical manner on the back and there is an LED flash right below it. A fingerprint scanner isn’t visible and is likely housed underneath the display. Notably, the first two sensors are grouped together while the third has a slight gap between the others. For the most part, the OnePlus 7T Pro looks almost identical to its preceding device. Although, it is to be expected considering its just a upgrade version of the 7 Pro.

It could also feature an improved camera as well and be offered in new colour options. Unfortunately, there is still no concrete evidence that the device is the OnePlus 7T Pro. Additionally, the company hasn’t made any official announcements either.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Benchmark Scores Leaked On Geekbench

American technology giant Qualcomm, who is best known for making mobile processors, released its latest flagship smartphone SoC (System on Chip) last year. Dubbed the Snapdragon 855, the chipset has been since seen in almost every major flagship handset released this year so far. The company has also released a mid-cycle refresh of the Snapdragon 855 by launching the Snapdragon 855 Plus a few weeks ago. It is expected that Qualcomm will release a successor to the processor, purportedly called the Snapdragon 865 in the month of December.

While early details about the upcoming SoC was leaked previously, not much else was known at the moment. Now, the Snapdragon 865 has surfaced on benchmarking platform Geekbench, which reveals the benchmark scores of the upcoming chipset.

    Qualcomm Snapdragon 865

    Qualcomm Snapdragon 865

On the popular benchmarking website Geekbench, the results of the Qualcomm Kona chipset have appeared. The previous leak of the Snapdragon 865 revealed that it has been codenamed Qualcomm Kona. So this means that the scores are of the upcoming flagship chipset. In the website’s single-core test, the SoC has managed to score 4160; while on the multi-core test, it records a score of 12946.

This is slightly higher than what the smartphones running the Snapdragon 855 could achieve, so it suggests that the upcoming chipset will provide a performance boost in flagship devices. Furthermore, the device used to run the test has been found to be running 6GB of RAM and Android 10, the latter of which is yet to hit the market.

Like the previous generations, it is expected that Qualcomm may announce the Snapdragon 865 in the month of December. The first smartphone to sport the latest flagship chipset from the company has usually been a Samsung device; so the upcoming processor may debut with the Galaxy S11 due next year.

The iPhone 11 Series May Gain Support For The Apple Pencil

American technology giant Apple is expected to launch three new iPhones in the month of September this year. These smartphones will be the successor to the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XR from last year and are poised to feature notable improvements over their predecessors; like more battery, cameras and performance. Now, a fresh reports claim that the upcoming iPhone 11 may also gain support for the Apple Pencil, which is a stylus the company introduced back in the year 2015 with the first iPad Pro.

    iPhone 11 With Apple Pencil

    Apple Pencil

The aforementioned reports of the iPhone 11 supporting the Apple Pencil arrive from the renown analyst organization Citi Research. If turned out to be true, the upcoming device will be the first from Apple to support the Apple Pencil other than the iPads. While there are two generations of Apple Pencil currently available in the market, it is believed that the iPhone 11 may gain support for the first generation of the stylus. It is because of the different charging mechanism in the second generation. While the first Apple Pencil used a lightning port to replenish its battery, its successor charges by attaching itself to the sides of the iPad Pro. Also, only the new iPad Pros have had support for the second generation Pencil, so it would make sense for Apple to keep it that way for a while.

The report from Citi Research may sound enticing to users wanting stylus support in an iPhone for a while; but it should be taken with a grain of salt. As the organisation is usually known for its accurate financial predictions regarding Apple and not for its predictions of what iPhones will be like in the future, the report may turn out to be nothing but a rumor. Whatever may be the case, the very idea of the iPhone 11 supporting the Apple Pencil will expand the usability of the device. Since the launch is more than a month away, we also do not need to wait too long to confirm our suspicions.

It has been revealed that Google is working on the next generation of its flagship smartphones. Revealed to be the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, the devices will be the successors to last year’s Pixel 3 series. In an unprecedented move, the company showed off the handset’s design months prior to its launch. This made most of the leaks surrounding the Pixel 4 useless and gave Google the upper hand in building the hype around the smartphone. In what can be called another unique step, the company has revealed a few key features of the Pixel 4 in a new blog post.

    Pixel 4

In the blog post shared by Google, it has been revealed that its upcoming flagship smartphone Pixel 4 will support face unlock. The device is not expected to feature any form of fingerprint sensors, so facial authentication may be the only way to access the handset. The new feature is speculated to be as secure as FaceID found on newer Apple iPhones like the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. It will also be used for payment authentication inside the Play Store and supported apps.

According to the video, the upcoming smartphone will support motion sensing via a barrage of sensors present on the forehead bezel above the display. This feature will be called Motion Sense and will use the Soli technology the company showcased a while ago. It will allow users to skip songs, snooze alarms and silence phone calls by waving their hands, according to Google. The feature is claimed to get better over time. At launch, Motion Sense will only be available in a select few countries, names of which are not known yet.
