As MWC 2016 nears, news of new smartphones using Qualcomm’s latest 820 SoC is going to start coming in thick and fast. The snapdragon 820 SoC is slated to come with Adreno 530 GPU which is said to give almost 40-50% more performance than last year’s Adreno GPU, and as claimed by Qualcomm is going to be more energy efficient too.
Well, for starters Snapdragon 820 is a chip built from scratch. The CPU cores, the GPU, the DSP, the modem, the image processors. everything has been upgraded after the debacle that the Samsung 810 was. On this new architecture, Qualcomm claims to have upgraded things across the board.

The chipset company is been into rumors for making a tablet from a long time now, there have been many leaks about the new upcoming tablet which is claimed to be the NVIDIA tab P1640.
The tablet has been spotted on the website of the Taiwanese certification agency, NCC, as per Techkiddy NVIDIA tab is listed as P1640 on the certification agency’s website.
The website reveals some specifications of the tablet which include a 7-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280×768 pixels and NVIDIA’s own 1.8GHz quad-core Tegra 4 processor. The alleged P1640 is also said to have a 5-megapixel rear camera and is expected to run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. [...]
Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huan recently said during the company’s quarterly and yearly earnings call that they did the best work in the company’s history in 2012. The proof is in the revenue which shot up 7.1 percent year over year to a record $4.28 billion.
Quarterly revenue was down 8.1 percent sequentially to $1.11 billion but compared to the same time last year, it was up 16.1 percent. Nvidia also pointed out the fact that they repurchased $100 million in stock and paid a total dividend to shareholders of $46.9 million during the fiscal quarter.

At CES 2013, NVIDIA has announced their chipset upgrade of the year, The Tegra 4 platform. Even though the chip retains the same 4-plus-1 arrangement of the Tegra 3 Platform, adds capabilities of an impressive 72 GPU cores. That will improve the GPU capability almost 6 times.
The first test this processor was put to live on stage was between itself in an unnamed tablet and the Google Nexus 10 – loading webpages on the Tegra 4 finished almost 50% quicker than the Nexus 10.

Google’s long rumored Nexus tablet has been rendered and now has a price, $199 to be precise. Specs of this upcoming tablet are expected to be a 7-inch, quad-core Tegra 3 slate with a front 1.2-megapixel camera, NFC, 8GB to 16GB of storage and a 1280 x 800 IPS-based LCD.
Google’s I/O conference should reveal more information about this elusive device, especially wen it is finally showcased.
While some are still waiting for their fix of quad core goodness of Tegra 3, it seems that the hardware is already old news. Reportedly leaked Tegra 4 details and the NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang saying that “A new Tegra every year” means that 2013 will see face of a newer more powerful Tegra Chipset. The new chipsets will be major designed for 10 inch tablets. The Tegra 4 will come in four variants, three with a quad-core ARM Cortex A15 configuration, with clock speeds from 1.2 to 2.0GHz.
The Fourth one seems to be a budget SP3X variant based on A9, designed for 7inch tabs, it will also add high speed LTE.
LG has shown off many phones in their lead up to the MWC 2012, this one by far is the most exciting. The Optimus 4X is a successor to their first Dual core phone the Optimus 2X. The device will feature a 1.5 GHz Quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor along with a 4.7-inch True HD IPS LCD (1280×720). The device will also run ICS out the box and looks like it has been skinned by LG. The device also has a 2,150mAh battery, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. On optics it has a 8MP rear camera and a 1.3 MP front shooter. Information on pricing and actual release is expected during MWC next week.

Nvidia’s new and upcoming Tegra 3 is the chip to look out for, says the industry. A confirmed chip which is upto five times faster than existing Tegra 2, offers 4 cores of 1.5 GHz madness and a perforce and graphics boost unknown to phone/tablet kind prior to this.The new Tegra 3 four times faster for web browsing, three times faster for graphics(12-core GeForce GPU). The overall specs mentioned in our earlier rumors match with the actual final device. Remember we posted the first images of the A85 back in June with an update of confirmed specs earlier this month. Now some official press shots of the device have come into play confirming the shape and specs of the device. The device will be finally called the A85 Superfone as indicated by the images.
The images also confirm the 5MP autofocus camera on the back of the device along, unfortunately there is no flash led. Back seems to be rubberized metal constructionn but we really cant comment on the device before we get a hands on.
