Micxrosoft has announced the third update to the Windows Phone 8 OS – this is known as GDR3 or General Distribution Release 3.

The lack of Instagram on Windows Phone 8 is seriously taking its toll on the users and by the looks of it Hupstamatic is here to provide some relief. The app Oggl was shown off at Nokia’s London event with a WP8 UI, and presently it is unknown if this is a Lumia exclusive App or will be available throughout the Windows Phone 8 lineup of smartphones.
The app features several filters as seen on Hipstamatic iPhone app, including the famous food filter, and users can buy packs to upgrade these filters. Sharing is available on Oggl and the app will connect to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.

Microsoft lifted the veil on its latest Windows Phone 8 (WP8) operating system (OS) at an event in San Francisco today. Handsets from HTC, Samsung and Nokia will feature the new mobile OS. Huawei is expected to launch a device as well. Those living in Europe will be able to get the new WP8 handsets this weekend. Other markets, such as Asia, are expected to be able to buy the handsets in November.

Nokia found itself in a mess after they unveiled their new flagship Windows Phone 8 Lumia 920 a couple weeks back. The reason being was from a video they approved that promoted the OIS (optical image stabilization) features in the 920. If you remember, the video showed a girl riding a bike and the pleasant moments were all captured on camera by a friend, who was led to believe to be using the 920. However, the reflection in a window proved otherwise and revealed that the video was actually shot with a DSLR, not “the latest innovation from PureView technology.”

Microsoft announced that developers will be able to sign-up for inclusion in the Windows Phone 8 SDK (Software Development Kit) programme from September 12th. Microsoft also revealed that the program will be initially limited to a select few at first until the full Windows Phone 8 SDK is publicly available later this year, after Windows Phone 8 has been released.
