The Redmi 5 and Redmi 5A both have been launched in India at different times but, it’s unlikely that Xiaomi would launch the new budget devices in India. The Redmi 6A is priced at CNY 599 (Rs 6,500 approx.). The smartphone from Xiaomi will be available in two variants, one with 3GB RAM/32GB storage and the other with 4GB RAM/64GB storage. The base model is priced at RMB 999(Rs 10500 approx.) and the other one is priced at RMB 1,299 (Rs 13800 approx.).
There have been rumours that the Xiaomi Redmi S2 might launch in India as an Android One smartphone. Xiaomi has just announced that the Redmi Note 5 Pro has received a price hike. The budget smartphone’s base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage will now retail for Rs 14999 instead of its original price of Rs 13999. Manu Kumar Jain, MD of Xiaomi India announced the news via Twitter and said that the price hike is an effort to ramp up the supply of the smartphone after recent changes in PCBA import taxes and the depreciation of INR since the beginning of the year.
