The Chinese vendors have been super proactive this year. OnePlus took the lead in producing a USB Type C supported smartphone – OnePlus 2. This time it’s Xiaomi who’s challenging that product with its own variation of the Mi 4c that will now support a USB Type C. The smartphone will launch on the 22nd of September 2015.

Xiaomi Mi 4i

The Mi 4c is a new phone in the Mi 4 line up and will come in two variants – a 16GB one with 2GB of RAM and 32GB with 3GB of RAM space. It is expected to have a 5-inch full HD display and will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 SoC with a hexa-core processor.

On the camera front, it might come with a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP front camera, while the entire phone will be fueled by a 3,080mAh battery. The expected dimensions are 138.1 x 69.6 x 7.8 mm and 130 grams. The connectivity according to leaks, suggest that it will come with a 3G, GPRS/ EDGE and 4G LTE support.

The Mi 4c could be priced at around Rs.15,500 for the 16GB variant, while the 32GB variant will obviously be higher.

Yep Micro USB to USB Type-C connectors are available for this phone. And if OnePlus stops supplying Cable for some reason, we've got MacBook (latest with Type-C only) too. We cab use separate cables of it. Third party suppliers too would start selling them soon.

Dhairyadev Arora true, but happens if that usb cable you got inside the box breaks and if for some reason the conpany also has stopped supplying the accessory or is may be out of stock. The trend usually follows that high end phones of companies like samsung have a new feature like this and they make the accessories easily available , chinese manufacturers make the cheap alternatives of the accessories available and that feature becomes a standard. I don't believe Xiaomi is capable of this, they dont even have thier phones available in mobile stores. Same for one plus too.

Its the same problem with the one plus. But the specifications of the one plus two are too good for the price so people may ignore the fact that it has a USB type c port. Xiaomi does not have a similar reputation. I see more redmi phones around than any of the mi phones.

Its too early. Type c ports are not a thing yet. Type c connectors are also no where to be found. I doubt this phone will do well.
