PUBG Lite PC Releases In India On 4th July With Hindi Support

PlayerUnknown’s Battleground or PUBG is currently one of the most popular multiplayer game title. The battle royale genre of shooter had taken the world by storm with PUBG at its forefront. In India, the game took off with its mobile port in the form of the free-to-play PUBG Mobile. However, many players still faced various barriers to the original experience. Some players couldn’t afford the game while others had PCs that couldn’t run it. The successful formula of free cost of entry with easier accessibility (as seen in PUBG Mobile) has now led to the creation of PUBG Lite.

    PUBG Lite

PUBG Lite is a free to play version of the original battle royale shooter from PUBG Corp. The differences do not end there as the Lite version carries toned down graphical fidelity to improve performance in non-gaming/low-end PCs and laptops. The game had initially launched as Open Beta in Thailand and soon spread to other nations like Brazil, Turkey and Bangladesh. Noteworthy, a Lite version of PUBG Mobile is also being worked on, however, an Indian launch is currently unconfirmed.

    PUBG Lite

    • Memory: 4GB of RAM
    • HDD: 4GB of storage

One of the noteworthy additions to this game is its inclusion of the Hindi language option for its Indian audiences. Countries including Afghanistan, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka will also receive the same launch date.

  • NVIDIA Unveils The RTX 2060 SUPER, 2070 SUPER, 2080 SUPER GPUs

NVIDIA Unveils The RTX 2060 SUPER, 2070 SUPER, 2080 SUPER GPUs

Computex 2019 has seemingly started off an arms race for the gaming industries giants. AMD spearheaded the electronics expo with its keynote that saw the company announce the RX 5000 series graphics card. These cards had undercut NVIDIA’s existing RTX series graphics card in price and, to some extent, power. While team red was preparing for the launch, team green had teased a new and improved lineup of RTX graphics card.

Nvidia is now officially announcing its SUPER Series of RTX graphics card which will bring a sizeable upgrade over its existing lineup.

    NVIDIA

AMD will soon launch its graphics card which was supposed to be a viable alternative to the RTX cards at a competitive price. However, NVIDIA has already started phasing out its existing RTX graphics card, excluding the RTX 2060. The company has “supercharged” its products by the introduction of its new GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER, GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, and GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER. These new cards are one of the latest and most powerful cards currently available for gaming purposes.

    NVIDIA

GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER GPU Specification

The new SUPER variant of the RTX 2060 GPU brings a noticeable improvement to overall performance with a bump of 22% (average 15%) than the standard variant. The graphics card houses 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM which is 2GB higher than the RTX 2060. It is also claimed that the card will be faster than the last gen GTX 1080 and features 7+7 TOPs (FP32+INT32) and 57 Tensor TFLOPs.

GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER GPU Specification

RTX 2070 SUPER is reportedly 24% (average 16%) faster than the regular RTX 2070 which is a great improvement. Notably, NVIDIA is claiming that this card is faster than the GTX 1080 Ti with 9+9 TOPs (FP32+INT32) and 73 Tensor TFLOPs

GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER GPU Specification

The new graphics card is the flagship and one of the most powerful GPU under NVIDIA’s arsenal. The card has had its speed bumped upto 15.5Gbps from the originals 14Gbps. Furthermore, the SUPER variant is faster than the TITAN Xp and features 11+11 TOPs (FP32+INT32) and 89 Tensor TFLOPs.

All of the new cards will support every new technique that was employed by the original RTX card. That includes Ray-Tracing technology alongside NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). The new cards will also be one of the few new cards from team green to support the Mesh Shading and NVIDIA Adaptive Shading. These techniques are used for polishing the graphical fidelity of any game without drastically impacting the performance and responsiveness of the game being rendered.

NVIDIA is also launching a new integrated frame benchmarking & power tool by the name of “FrameView”. This new software enables accurate real-time information regarding game performance like FPS and average FPS, power drawn from the board, completely customisable overlay and even a log file for analytics. The feature will also be available to AMD cards, although power draw will not be read. The beta will be released soon, stay tuned for more on this.

    RTX

    Price and Availability

GeForce RTX cards pricing will start from INR 34,890 for the 2060, while the RTX 2070 SUPER will be sold for INR 43,600. The premium graphics card RTX 2080 SUPER will have prospective buyers shell out INR 61,400. The first two cards will be commercially available from 9th July in India, while the later premium card will be released on July 23rd. The existing cards will be phased out apart from the RTX 2060 while the 2080 Ti still remains as the crown prince of the company.

    NVIDIA

NVIDIA is known to collaborate with other companies that provide gaming-related peripherals and electronic components. Companies like, ASUS, Colorful, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision 3D, MSI, Palit, PNY and Zotac versions of the card will be available alongside the Founder’s Edition. The graphics card will also be available on gaming laptops such as Dell, Alienware, Acer, HP and Lenovo. A special deal is being offered by NVIDIA, in which users buying the graphics card on 9th July will receive a free copy of Control and Wolfenstein: Youngblood.

NVIDIA has made an impressive move with the affordable price of entry for its RTX SUPER series in India. The move will prove to be a great adversary to the upcoming RX 5700 & 5700 XT that will go on sale on 7th July. The upgraded additions to NVIDIA’s latest gen of graphics card will again be a strong choice for potential buyers for their gaming needs.

  • Samsung Is Developing A Smartphone With Expandable Display

Samsung Is Developing A Smartphone With Expandable Display

Samsung has been working on developing unique smartphones with flexible displays for years now. The company’s first commercially available foldable device arrived as the Galaxy Fold. However, the device had failed even before it had launched due to fundamental functional flaws within its design. Reports have since surfaced state that the tech giant is already planning on other foldable devices and now even an expandable display smartphone.

    Samsung

The South Korean company has already patented the expandable display designs for a laptop. Furthermore, The latest patent showcases a unique new design for the upcoming rollable display smartphone. Schematics of the device show a retractable flexible display on a smartphone. The screen on this device is capable of being pulled out via a rolling mechanism, which may be automatic. Once fully extended the device will see a three times growth in screen size.

The mechanism is enabled through a combination of moving rails with Samsung’s flexible screen. Basically, one can carry the device in a compact form factor until they eventually require it. The phone will look like any other modern handset once in its smaller state although with rounded corners. The rollable smartphone has noticeable bezels on the top and bottom that house the necessary sensors like camera, earpiece and fingerprint scanner. These wide borders will also house the motor that runs the rolling mechanism.

The frame of the rolling mechanism flank the left and right side and also provide a grip for when users unroll the phone. When seen from the back, supporting rails are revealed when the Samsung device is completely extended. The rails should provide support for the moving mechanism while fitting into slots perfectly, making it appear seamless. It is sceptical just how practical the system will be in real-world practice; as dust and wear and tear may negatively affect the system. Damage or bends on any of the rail will also cause it to be imperfect and not fall back into place correctly once retracted.

    Samsung

The smartphones design form factor will allow for a great content viewing experience for the user. If the device is unveiled one of the notable things offered would be a better multi-media consumption via Samsung’s vibrant AMOLED panels. The company has yet to make any statement on any one of its many patents that have shown such unique designs or functionality.

Unfortunately, a due date, price and any other form of specifications cannot be discerned currently. Updates will be posted as and when they are available.

  • Apple To Launch An Exclusive iPhone For China Without Face ID

Apple To Launch An Exclusive iPhone For China Without Face ID

In addition to the US, China has been one of the biggest markets for Apple’s iPhone. However, in the last couple of quarters, the demand for the premium smartphones have gone down in the south Asian country. The chief reason behind the slumping sales in the country is the trade tension between the two biggest nations, Apple and China. Additionally, local OEMs have also managed to captivate the segment by offering the sheer number of features on their devices.

To arrest the declining sales of iPhone in the country, Apple will reportedly launch an exclusive variant of the premium smartphone which will be limited to China. According to source, the China-only iPhone variant will be more affordable than the global variant which will allow it to better compete with the previously mentioned devices from local companies.

    iPhone Face ID
    Face ID

Apart from the lower price tag, the design of the Chinese variant and global variant of the 2019 iPhone will be identical. However, the key difference between the two variants lies beneath the surface. The former will do away with the Face ID feature, instead, it will have an under-display fingerprint sensor which has become a common sighting on the premium to mid-range Android phones.

All iPhone models that support Face ID must have an expensive component which is called structured light laser emitter. Accordingly, Apple might get rid of the Face ID components which will help the company to reduce the cost of the 2019 iPhone. This cost reduction strategy corresponds with the Chinese poll that questioned, “In Display Fingerprint Scannerwhich aspect can Apple optimize in iPhone”.

Over 2,00,000 netizens from the country participated in the polls and a whopping 70 percent of participants chose the “price” factor. This was followed by the battery which was selected by about 20 percent of all the participants. Therefore, it is evident that Chinese consumers want to purchase an iPhone but steep prices are hampering its sales.

Also, the comparatively higher adoption of the under-screen fingerprint sensor has significantly reduced its costs. Hence, Apple can use this mode of the biometric sensor instead of Face ID. Besides, all other features on the Chinese variant will be similar to the global variant which can be found here

The bloatware free software experience, along with regular software updates should keep the smartphone fresh for a longer period of time.

Unlike most devices in the segment, it also has an In display camera which maximises the screen real estate of the handset. The display on the handset is great to watch movies and shows on Netflix; as a lot of the content on Netflix is shot in the 21:9 aspect ratio. The Motorola One Vision features a 48MP primary rear camera, which utilises the Quad Pixel technology. This combines four adjacent pixels into one large size pixel, making the output images detailed and sharp. It also reduces the size of the images so the goodness of the high-resolution sensor remains intact in a small size. The Quad Pixel tech also works on the 25MP selfie camera, which as mentioned above should make the resulting images better detailed and plenty sharp using pixel binning.

    See In The Dark!

The Motorola One Vision has a lot of revolutionary camera features for the price range it is placed in. The smartphone features a wide f/1.7 aperture in the 48MP main camera; which makes it the first device in the segment to offer such a wide aperture. Which improves low light performance in images and video. The camera also has the Night Vision mode, which as the name suggests is dedicated night mode inside the camera application. The feature works better than even some of the devices that are priced two or three times more than the Motorola One Vision. The mode can also be used in a low light environment to pull out more details. See Sample Above.

Xiaomi Now Wants To Sell Toys In India, Mi Truck Builder Is Its First Offering

Whenever we think about Xiaomi, the first thing that comes to our mind is smartphones (1,2) or maybe televisions. However, these two categories just hold a small percentage of share in the company’s ever-expanding portfolio of products. Beside electronics, Xiaomi even sells lifestyle products, electric mobility vehicles to even kids toys. The latest addition to the company’s lineup in India is the “Mi Truck Builder” which falls in the toys category.

As the images suggest, it is a kit of 530+ lego styled modular blocks which that can be joined together to form a scaled dump truck or a bulldozer. According to Xiaomi, the Mi Truck Builder helps in developing creativity and cognitive function of young children whom the product is targeted towards.

The Mi Truck Builder is currently available on Xiaomi India’s crowdfunding website at an introductory price of Rs 1,199. Notably, the company will only offer 1500 units at this price which when accomplished the pre-bookings will halt. User’s who want to buy the toy kit thereafter will be able to purchase it for the regular price of Rs 1,499.

The crowdfunding of the Mi Truck Builder is currently live and it will continue till the 8th of July. However, the delivery of orders will commence on the 25th of July.

Besides the regular functionality of a push toy, the Mi Truck Builder also has a few nifty tricks up its sleeve. The dumper on the back of the truck, when in dump truck formation, can pivot in order to load or unload materials or other small toys that the kid would have. In addition, it can shoot projectiles via the cannons that are mounted on top.

All in all, Xiaomi is trying to reach another set of audience for offering products in such varied categories. Although Xiaomi did not mention, the fact could be that the young children, when introduced to products from the company, will develop a sense of familiarity and affinity with the brand. Therefore, they would be inclined towards purchasing more offerings made by the company.

Official Teaser Reveals Full Specs Of The Mid Range Lenovo Z6

In order to cater to a variety of consumers, smartphone makers tend to launch two or more variants of the same handset as observed with the Galaxy S10 lineup and the Redmi K20 duo. Similar is the case with the Chinese OEM, Lenovo, which had already launched its high-end Z6 Pro and will soon announce a watered-down variant of the same.

The upcoming smartphone will be called the Lenovo Z6 and it is set to launch on the 4th of July. Ahead of the official unveiling, a senior Lenovo executive has shared a poster of the smartphone, which has only left its price to the imagination.

According to the source, the Lenovo Z6 has an appealing design with a narrow bezel display on the front and a glass or gloss plastic back with a gradient colour. It sports a 6.39 inch OLED display that has an impressive 93.1 percent screen to body ratio and a small water drop notch up top. Besides the screen also house an in display fingerprint sensor which is slowly becoming the industry standard.

All in all, the Lenovo Z6 is a feature loaded smartphone with an elegant design. If the company is able to maintain the aggressive pricing which has been observed with it the last couple of offers, it holds the potential to become one of the best selling devices in its segment.

Amidst fierce competition from other Chinese OEMs including, Xiaomi and Oppo, Lenovo has been on a recess in India. However, if the company brings aggressively priced devices like Z6 to the country, it will definitely see an upward trend in demand.

Airtel Joins Hands With Tata To Survive The Jio Storm

The introduction of the Reliance Group’s Jio network has brought substantial changes in the Indian telecom industry. It is a common occurrence in businesses to have acquisitions and mergers taking place for mutual benefit between two or more parties. The added edge of two companies working together helps provide an advantage to both parties and increases economical prospects, such as the Airtel and Tata merger.

According to a new report, Tata Teleservices’ Consumer Mobile services have now officially been integrated into Bharti Airtel. The news of the completion of the merger arrived after a joint statement issued by both the companies.

    Telecom services

The aforementioned companies have seen their fair share of business troubles ever since the debut of the highly competitive Jio network. Reliance Group’s critically acclaimed network had brought data packages and call rates to an all-time low. Noteworthy, India currently holds the title of consuming the highest amount of mobile data per head, which is somewhat due to the Jio revolution. This seemingly undercut every one of the prevailing competitors such as Airtel, Vodafone and Idea. Furthermore, the move caused massive losses to other telecom service providers and forced many to slash rates or start a joint venture, such as the Idea India and Vodafone merger.

    Airtel

As of July 1st 2019, the arrangement regarding the merger of the Consumer Mobile Businesses of Tata Teleservices and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) into Bharti Airtel and Bharti Hexacom are now in effect. In accordance with the merger, Airtel will absorb the Tata Telecom services operations in 19 telecom circles. It has also agreed to take all the customers, assets, spectrum, and agreed liabilities of the Consumer Mobile Business from Tata.

The merger will boost Airtel’s spectrum pool with a significant addition of 178.5MHz spectrum in 1800, 2100 and 850 MHz bands. These are used in 4G and translate to better overall connectivity, spread and penetration of the network. This is a welcomed move as existing Airtel and even Tata customers will largely benefit from the business merger. It is yet to see how performance is affected in real-world practice but positive results are expected all across the board.

  • The Nokia Ion Prototype Is The Bitesized Android That Company Should Have Made

The Nokia Ion Prototype Is The Bitesized Android That Company Should Have Made

The smartphone market is currently dominated by two mobile operating systems which include Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS. About a decade ago the conditions were not the same as they are now. There used to Nokia which single-handedly dominated the mobile phone market with its S40 and Symbian phones.

However, with passing time and shift in consumer trends, the two mobile operating systems developed by Nokia vanished. Encountering fierce competition, the company did not reveal its first Android smartphone, the Nokia X till 2014. Though it had other prototype smartphones in development which unfortunately never saw the light of the day.

One such device is the ultra-compact Nokia Ion Mini prototype, which is currently listed for auction on eBay. The device has a distinctive design with plastic and aluminium build. Even when placed next to the iPhone 5S from 2014, the Nokia Ion Mini seems like a puny toy.

Even though the listing does not reveal the screen size of the Nokia Ion Mini, it does state the display has a wvga resolution of 480 x 800. Still, it can be assumed that the display on the device would approximately measure 3 inch.

Under the hood, the Nokia Ion Mini packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 which is clocked at 1.2 GHz. The listing states that the smartphone runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean which was unveiled in the year 2013. Connectivity options on the smartphone include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G. Also, according to the listing, the device is carrier unlocked so users from around the globe can use it, in case they intend to do so.

As previously mentioned, the Nokia Ion Mini prototype with an appealing design is listed on eBay UK at a price of US $ 1,999. Though the price is very steep and it is much more than the device would have originally intended for. Taking into consideration it is a rare device, this is mfore of a collectors item than a device that the conventional user would use on a day to day basis. For reference, the futuristic Galaxy Fold which is expected to be made commercially available next month is priced for US$ 1980.

It won’t be fair to say that this charming and ultra pocketable Nokia Ion Mini could have taken down Samsung’s behemoth army of varied smartphones by itself. Though it could have generated its own following amongst consumers that intend to buy a compact handset.
