Chinese technology giant Xiaomi has announced that it is discontinuing two of its iconic lineup of smartphones. The CEO of the company, in a post on Weibo, the country’s major social networking website has officially declared that Xiaomi will discontinue the Mi Max and Mi Note series; as it has no new plans of releasing a device under the name this year. The Chinese upstart manufacturer Xiaomi recently launched a special black edition of the Mi Note. The Black version adds to the already released Mi Note Bamboo and Mi Note Pink edition, along with the original white version. The Black Mi Note Edition is currently up for sale in China for $400 (approximately Rs. 25,000).
Other than the change in design, specifications and features of the Mi Note Black Edition are similar to the original version. It holds the identical 5.7-inch display with 386ppi pixel density with 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor providing computing power to the device.
