Launched back in October of 2017, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 succeeded the 2016 bezel-less device, Mi MIX. It followed a similar design language with thin bezels and a thick chin to house the front camera. But, like almost every other Xiaomi smartphone, it ran on Android 7 Nougat with MIUI on top. Xiaomi launched the Mi Mix 2 back in October in India at a price of Rs. 35999. The device currently runs Android 7 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top. Xiaomi has announced Android 8.0 Oreo beta program for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2.

It’s a closed beta program, which means that a very limited number of Mi Mix 2 users will be able to participate and try the Oreo-based MIUI 9 build. There’s currently no information on exactly when the final release will begin rolling, although that’s probably still at least a few months away.
