Amidst all the tension caused after the US trade ban, Huawei continues to launch new feature laden smartphones. The company is set to launch another series of handsets on the 21st of June that carry the Nova 5 branding. A day before the official announcement, key specifications of the Nova 5 and the high end Nova 5 Pro have been revealed on Twitter.
Out of the two leaked smartphones, former is mid to premium range handset while the latter is a flagship grade premium device. Both smartphones have similar specifications with the difference in the chipset and connectivity options.
Nova 5, Nova 5 Pro Specifications
According to the source, both the Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro sport a 6.39 inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution. To match with the premium status, they feature and in-display fingerprint scanner which is slowly becoming an industry standard. In terms of optics, the two devices have 32 MP front camera along with quad rear camera setup whose composition is as follows:

Both the Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro are powered by a 3,500 mAh battery that supports 40 W fast charging. Under the hood, the Nova 5 Pro packs the Kirin 980 chipset while the affordable Nova 5 will pack the Kirin 810 which is making its debut with the device. The Kirin 980 is manufactured using 7 nm process and is present on other Huawei and Honor devices including the P30 Pro, Mate 20 Pro and View 20, Honor 20. Similarly, the Kirin 810 is also manufactured using 7 nm process and it consists of an Octa Core CPU. In comparison to the Nova 5, Nova 5 Pro supports NFC which is absent on the former. The two upcoming Huawei handset will do away with a 3.5 mm jack. However, they will be shipped with a dongle and pair of headphones with 3.5 mm headphone jack.
