iPhone 11 To Have Bigger Battery And Better Speakers

Apple has been hard at work for improving the user experience in regards to its ecosystem. The American company plans on achieving better standards through both its software and hardware-based tinkering. Soon the world might even get to see the rumoured Night mode camera feature along with a bigger more robust battery and better speakers on the iPhone 11 series.

    iPhone 11

The iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max were seen in a video, which surfaced on the internet, that showcased both the smartphones. In the video, the iPhone 11 Max was claimed to sport a large 4,000mAh battery pack. This is a significant upgrade over last generation iPhone XS Max that was equipped with a 3,174mAh battery capacity. Apple’s iPhone XR currently holds the title for the longest lasting battery life in an Apple handset till date. Surprising to say the least, especially when the iPhone XS Max costs almost twice as much as the iPhone XR. The 2019 model of the aforementioned iPhone is also rumoured to ship with slightly larger battery capacity.

    Speakers

Apple first introduced stereo speakers in its flagship handsets back in 2016, with the iPhone 7. However, not a lot of changes have been made to the formula ever since. The tech giant is now reportedly improving the quality of the speakers in the latest iPhone 11 series flagship. The speaker module will apparently be smaller than the ones found in past iterations, probably to house the larger battery size. Regardless of the form factor, it will still be able to output crisper sounds from the new speakers according to the video.

Apple is reportedly launching the iPhone 11 lineup in September which falls in line with the other competitive releases.

The company is set to launch its latest smartphone lineup, the Nova 5 on 21st of June. Besides, the alleged renders of the successor to its last year’s flagship grade Mate 20 Pro have also surfaced on Chinese social media website, Weibo. According to the alleged renders of the Mate 30 Pro, it will have an edge to edge display with an oval punch hole that houses dual selfie cameras. Similar to its predecessor, the display of the device tapers towards the side. The rear of the Mate 30 Pro is reminiscent of the Mate 20 Pro that has a glass back with a gradient design. Also, the current renders corroborate with past leaks which date back to the month of January.

The rear of the Mate 30 Pro houses the company branding and a quad camera setup which is arranged in a rectangular module that protrudes slightly from the surface. All in all, the design of the smartphone has an appealing look with a considerable upgrade over its predecessor. The source lags any specifications about the upcoming device, however, some assumptions about it can be made.

The Mate 30 Pro is expected to be kitted with the Kirin 985 SoC which might debut with the new handset. The chipset will be fabricated using a 7 nm process and will reportedly be manufactured by TSMC. The aforementioned foundry also manufactures Bionic chipsets for Apple iPhones. Google Chrome 76 Beta Update Now Offers Better Anonymity

Over the last few Google Chrome updates, build 73 was essentially the one that introduced a notable feature in the form of dark mode. Google Chrome builds 74 and 75 only focused on nominal aspects such as bug fixes and security. The tech giant, however, in a rather quiet manner added key new features that will make anonymity more easily achievable for users browsing online.

    Google Chrome

One of Google Chrome’s developer had conveyed that the browsers Incognito mode (or Private more) had always been detectable by a website. Basically, certain subscription-based online channels that had their revenue tied to the users that visit the website could ascertain whether or not it was the same person logging in from an anonymous private mode. This allowed such organizations to charge the user and disallow them from availing the initial first free entry over and over again. The aforementioned ability is now being taken away from developers for furthering user anonymity and privacy when browsing on Incognito Mode.

Google’s Chromium blog post had another major focus, to have its latest Chrome builds putting more emphasis on phasing out Adobe Flash. The software already has been blocked by numerous major browser in different degree and manner for years now. With the adoption of the build 76 in Chrome, the browser takes new strides in keeping clear of it. Adobe Flash is now turned off by default in Google Chrome, including all of the individual flash items alongside the software. Interested users can discover this setting in the Beta build by going to “chrome://settings/content/flash” and finding the ‘Ask First’ settings turned off beforehand.

Chrome version 76’s stable build is scheduled to be available on the 30th of July 2019.

Google Announces Game Builder To Create 3D Games Without Coding

American technology giant Google has announced a new tool called Game Builder. As the name suggests, it allows users to build, or create their games without any knowledge of coding. As mentioned above, Game Builder is a tool designed to create video games without coding. It is developed by Google’s in house Area 120 team which has been responsible for a few experimental projects in the past. When running for the first time, it asks the user what screen size they are aiming for the resulting game to run on. Then it offers an option to either start a new project, work on an existing one or try sample projects. These sample projects include a variety of options, like a first-person shooting game, a platformer title; or show a demo of the Game Builder card system for trying complex interactions inside a game.

The design inside Game Builder is reminiscent of Mojang’s Minecraft game due to the blocky nature of the graphics. To make a game, users will have to select a variety of cards to choose how the player interacts inside the game. The movements can also be selected by using real-time javascript functionality; which does not require compiling to save a command. Google claims the tool has thousands of 3D objects like animals and plants which can be placed inside the game. Game Builder is available for free on Valve’s Steam platform for both the Windows and MacOS platforms. While not for everyone, the Game Builder tool seems to be a great platform for people wanting to create their own game without wanting to learn complex coding.

  • Researchers Have Successfully Converted Type A Blood To Type O

Researchers Have Successfully Converted Type A Blood To Type O

A huge number of people perish each year across the globe due to a shortage of blood transfusion stocks. On paper, almost 55 million litres of blood is donated annually worldwide, but in reality, incompatibility between the blood types implies that a person may not always receive a transfusion. However, researchers at the University of British Columbia have discovered a method using which type A blood can be converted into type O universal blood type.

Type O blood is compatible with anyone who has Rhesus (Rh) positive blood. Hence, it is considered as the universal blood type, since it can be transfused with anyone who has A+, B+, AB+, or O+ blood, which comprises about 75% of the total population. Postdoctoral researcher Peter Rahfeld has discovered a way via which enzymes can be used to transform type A red blood cells into universal type O blood cells. As per reports, this development can potentially double the stock of transfusion blood in the world.

If a person with type A blood is accidentally transfused with type B blood, the B antigens present in the transfused blood would cause the anti-B antibodies to attack the blood cells in a fatal manner, which would consequently result in the death of the person. On the other hand, type O red blood cells don’t have both the A and B antigens on their surface, instead, they harbour a neutral “H” antigen instead. This means anyone can be compatible with the aforementioned blood type.

In order to convert blood types, the lead researcher and his team have made use of a bacterial enzyme that resides in the human gut to remove all traces of A antigens simply by converting them into H antigens. They further identified genes that encode two enzymes which can remove facilitating components of the A antigen. When the enzymes were added to type A blood, they stripped the blood of all A type antigens, essentially converting them to Universal Type O cells. These findings may significantly increase the number of lives saved across the globe. However, it will take a fair share of time for this research to be applied to humans on a large scale.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10: Everything We Know So Far

Samsung has been busy in the year 2019. Barely half a year has gone by but various devices in diverse price ranges have already been released. The new launches have been received warmly so far with its Galaxy S10 lineup to even the affordable Galaxy M series of smartphones. The next big upcoming release for the South Korean company will most definitely be the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.

    Price and Availability

    Samsung Galaxy Note 10

Reports point that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will be revealed to the world in the month of August, hitting the shelves in September thereon. Samsung usually releases the Note series flagship around Apple’s iPhone release cycle. Price of the handset should be similar to the Galaxy S10’s price which starts from $999 (approx. Rs.69,000). This is still unconfirmed as rumours also suggest a price bump over the S series flagship by over $100 to $200, having a base price upwards of $1100.

    Two Variants

    Samsung Galaxy Note 10

The tech giant is rumoured to be working on two different sized variants for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, a first for the company. The difference between the versions will be of screen size, one will sport a larger 6.7-inch display while the other is reported to be equipped with a 6.4-inch display. This report has not been confirmed by Samsung yet. Furthermore, two more irregularities to the Note devices have also been rumoured, these would feature a 5G networking capable version of the aforementioned handsets.

    Seamless Design

Samsung was one of the last bastions for the 3.5mm headphone jack, that is now available in mid to low range smartphones. Interestingly, leaks point at the company going one step beyond and making the device completely devoid of all physical buttons as well. This rumour is still one of the highly unlikely ones to be true, as sources claim a seamless device was an early prototype by Samsung.

    Camera

Samsung has been steadily adding more cameras sensors to its flagship line up in the last couple of years. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 might one-up the Galaxy S10 by featuring a quad-camera module setup at the back. One lens would comprise the standard camera, whereas one a telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. The company might also include wide-angle lens but what the fourth camera sensor could be is still a mystery.

    In-Display Fingerprint Sensor

The Galaxy S10 had a hit or miss reception to its in-display fingerprint scanner. The first of its kind ultrasonic scanner was a hit on paper but in practice, the implementation by Samsung felt glitchy. The Note 10, however, could bring improvements to the functionality of this feature. A prospect welcomed by all prospective buyers.

    Chipset and Storage Options

Going with the most powerful smartphone chipset available in the market currently, The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will likely house the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. The Exynos 9825 versions will also be seen alongside the device in certain countries. The upcoming Note series will probably cross 10GB of RAM and go upwards to 12GB. Since the Galaxy S10 Plus features 128GB of internal storage in one of its variants, the Note 10 will probably feature 128GB base storage to 1TB in the higher specced versions.

The Asus 6Z sports a 6.4 inch LCD display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080px and a pixel density of 403 ppi. The display of the device is surrounded by very thin bezels with no obtrusions like a notch or a hole-punch. To prevent the device against scratches and accidental drops it is equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

    Processor

The Asus 6Z runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC which is a top of the line chipset. The Snapdragon 855 is manufactured using 7 nm fabrication process and it consists of Octa-core CPU   and Adreno 640 GPU. The eight CPU cores are composed of three different clusters which have the following clock speed:

    • 1×2.84 GHz Kryo 485
    • 3×2.41 GHz Kryo 485
    • 4×1.78 GHz Kryo 485
    Memory & Storage And Battery

The Asus 6Z will be available in two storage variants which include 6 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB ROM. In addition to the internal storage, it also supports memory expansion upto 1 TB via a dedicated MicroSD card slot. The Asus 6Z is powered by a mammoth 5000 mAh battery which also supports 18 W fast charging via the bottom mounted USB Type C port.

    Camera

The Asus 6Z has a dual flip camera setup which can be used for clicking pictures and capturing videos from both the front and back. The camera setup consists of an f/1.8 aperture equipped 48 MP sensor and an f/2.4 aperture equipped 13 MP wide sensor. The smartphone can also capture 4K videos at 60fps from the hybrid rear and front flip camera setup.

Notably, Asus is touting the 6Z as the world’s first smartphone with a controllable motorised camera. Even though companies like Oppo in the past have released similar devices with automatically rotating cameras, they could only capture images and videos at two angles. Uniquely, the flip camera of the 6Z can be set to any angle ranging from 0 to 180 degrees proving Asus’ claim factually correct. Except for conventional features, it can capture a panorama without the user having to actually move from their position. The flip automatically rotates with the help of motors which helps in capture a well stitched panorama.

Talking about its operation and durability, it has a motorised operation which can be used to toggle the selfie camera with the simple click of a button. The mechanism inside the camera setup is built in a manner that if the flip is forcefully moved, the gears inside would not resist and move along with the motion. This, in turn, would prevent the internals from going bad while being manually moved. However, it is recommended not to intentionally move the camera forcefully.

    Connectivity & Other Features

Connectivity options on the Asus 6Z include dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, 802.11 Wi-Fi, GPS and a bottom mounted USB Type C port for charging and data syncing. Unlike several other flagship handsets, it has a 3.5mm audio which is mounted on the bottom. The device runs on the latest Android 9 Pie which is skinned with Zen UI that provides for a stock Android like experience with minimal bloatware.
